I wouldn't take my vehicle back here for service. I was having Transmission issues. I took it into metro to get it diagnosed. They informed me nothing was wrong with the vehicle and I was wrong about it. I then took it to a local auto shop and they found that the transmission had a couple problems. All metro ford did was take my money and push me out the door as fast as possible. read more

Finally changed my dealership service location to Metro Ford on Noland. I've had shoddy service from previous dealerships and found this one to be the best one so far. Everything from customer service to waiting times - I know it's different for everyone but I was definitely treated with care. Thank you Larry Stanley for making a routine service feel like a breeze on a beautiful Saturday morning. I plan on making this my long term committed service location moving forward. If the quality of service changes in any way I will be updating my review to keep customers up to date. I understand sometimes it's a matter of how management runs a shop that ultimately determines the reliability of a service center over a period of time. I was quoted $1500 at Firestone to fix an issue that I believed they mis-diagnosed. I took it to metro Ford, they confirmed my feeling. They fixed the appropriate part for $438 and got it done before the weekend even though I dropped it off Friday morning with no appointment. The service staff was also very helpful and professional. read more

I showed up to my appointment today and my vehicle was taken in immediately. Bobby, my service advisor, spoke to me like I was his mother or grandmother, very respectful and sweet, but not at all condescending, like many repair facilities. They worked diligently to find the root cause of the problem with my AC, keeping me informed every step of the way. This is the second dealership, in as many days, to try to diagnose the problem and they worked hard to get down to it. They succeeded and now we are just waiting on the parts. We are driving West to California and needed this repair on an urgent basis. There is no driving across the 40 Mile Desert in Nevada without AC, especially with a dog and child in the truck. After all the trouble we have had with this truck, this trip, Metro Ford is the only thing keeping us from giving up on Ford completely. We had 583 miles on this F450, when we embarked on this trip and 3100 miles on it, when the problem started. We have driven to three dealerships in the past couple of days and now have 3600 miles or so on it. It's not like it's an old vehicle and some maintenance is to be expected. This dealer really stepped up. This will be our new Ford dealership going forward. I highly recommend this service department. read more

My parents purchased a brand new Ford Explorer from Metro Ford. This review will detail how Metro Ford took advantage of them. My father, a highly decorated Vietnam Vet and 81 years old, and my mother, his wife-79 years old, purchased a brand new Explorer, with very little miles, from Metro Ford. During the finance process, my parents wanted to purchase a maintenance agreement (oil changes, flushes, etc), but they were instead sold an extended warranty/service agreement for 10 years. Yes, your read that correctly. Metro Ford sold a 79 and 81 year old a TEN year extended warranty/service agreement on a brand new vehicle that had very little miles instead of a maintenance agreement. My parents average annual miles driven is between 3-5,000 miles. So, why was this product even offered? How likely A) would the extended warranty agreement be needed on a brand new vehicle & B) would my elderly parents be driving long enough to get any benefit from a 10 year policy? This "mistake" was discovered when I went with my mother after my father had passed to get the oil changed in her car. She was expecting that it would be covered under the maintenance agreement/plan that she purchased; however, she was given a bill. When we questioned this, that is when it was discovered that the finance manager of Metro Ford sold her the 10 year extended warranty agreement. We spoke with the General Sales Manager, Ron Hamilton, at the time. He told us that he didn't know why the extended warranty was sold, but would speak with his finance manager. He also agreed to cancel the extended warranty agreement and a refund would be forthcoming; however, it would be a pro-rated refund since it was after the stated cancellation period under the plan. I asked Mr. Hamilton to have Metro Ford make up the difference between the original price of the extended warranty and the pro-rated refund. Unfortunately, Mr. Hamilton refused. When given the opportunity to do what was right, he chose to do what was easy. After all, they had already received their commission and the pro-rated refund isn't coming out of their pocket, so what does it matter to them. It doesn't matter that his finance manager and dealership sold an elderly couple the wrong plan and a plan they would never use. There are a lot of Ford dealerships in the KC Metro, I would advise choosing anyone of them, just not Metro Ford in Independence. #MetroFord #elderabuse read more

I posted about being stuck with the bill for the transmission in my 2019 Ford Transit Connect. After two weeks the warranty company finally agreed to fix it. I'm a courier and really need my van. This dealership has had the van almost a month now and I still won't have it until Wednesday or Thursday. I'm glad the warranty company agreed to repair the van, but I was sure I was going to have to sue them. I think that was the only reason they finally gave in. This is the second time I've had to wait on the warranty company to approve a repair longer than necessary. I've also had the van there for the transmission 3 times complaining about the transmission light coming on. They just cleared the code and gave it back. Everyone could have saved time and money if they would have checked the actual transmission in the first place. read more

My ford focus is crap. I bought it a week ago and the transmission is having problems already. I take it in to service and craig said it's probably just the normal way it runs. He also told me it would be 3 weeks before they could fix it. He treated me like I didn't know anything and then got smart with me when I called him on it. Sadly, Ron Hamilton, the manger, turned my otherwise good experience into a horrible one. I urge anyone considering to purchase a car to AVOID him at all costs. I purchased a pre-owned vehicle earlier this week and less than 24 hours later, there was an engine malfunction and I drove my car immediately back to the dealership. Needless to say, I was very unhappy and feeling uneasy about my expensive purchase. After going to the dealership for the THIRD day in a row to pick up my car, I inquired about having my car maintenance in the future for my extreme inconvenience. Mr. Hamilton proceeded to embarrass me and berate me like a child in front of everyone on the sales floor for asking for "freebies," telling me there was nothing else he could do for me. And this is how the Hewlett's trust him to run their business. My family of four has spent well over $200,000 in cars, warranties, maintenance, etc. over the last several years with Metro Ford, never again will we purchase from here because of the unnecessary disrespect I received this week from Ron Hamilton. I hope no one else has to deal with this lack of customer service, embarrassment and inconvenience. read more

This is a worthless dealership. I bought a 2012 Ford Fiesta from this dealership brand new and have had all the service for the vehicle done at this dealership. Earlier this year I received a letter in the main issuing a recall for the transmission because of a manufacturer defect. I took my vehicle to the dealership to have the problem resolved and the "technician" could find nothing wrong after he test drove the vehicle. He said all he could do was update the transmission software and send me on my way. The software update did more damage than it did good. The vehicle violently shakes when I attempt to accelerate and I have multiple other problems with it but the dealership still doesn't think there is a problem. After getting in touch with the regional Ford manager, they said they would talk to the dealership to make sure the car is fixed back to 100 percent. I took my vehicle in and showed the dealership the email from the regional Ford manager and they still refused to work on my vehicle because, according to their "technicians", a violent shake is considered normal when accelerating. I will never buy another Ford vehicle or visit this dealership again. Their technicians don't seem to know what they are talking about or how to fix my problem. I ended up selling the vehicle I bought at this dealership about two weeks after this visit and my new Chevy was a much better deal (including the perks offered by the dealer) than I ever got from Metro. read more

Where do I begin??? If I could give a negative rating I would!!! They had our truck for 8 weeks this summer due to their incompetence in scheduling the service of our vehicle which ended with a new engine being out in. It has come to be 4 months - 3000 miles later and it is requiring ANOTHER engine to be put in. We informed Metro Ford from the first day we took it all for service we HAD to have a truck today. We didn't care if it is was our fixed truck or a rental. They ASSURED us that that would not be a problem. I called a week before today to stress the importance of needing a TRUCK... I was told it would not be a problem- I was assured I would have a truck. I called the day we needed the truck- I was ASSURED AGAIN there would be a truck at the rental location. When my husband got there it was an expedition!! NOT A TRUCK!!! This dealership is worthless in customer service. There was NO REASON to be lied to over and over. I am leaving in 4 hours and now my husband is having to drive to 30 miles to pick up a truck he had to fight to get that SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT THE RENTAL LOCATION. WHy am I not mad at the rental company? Because the rental company was not told it had to be a truck!!! So for the last 3 weeks we have been forced to drive a POS Nissan Sentra making payments on a truck I don't have because METRO FORD service sucks. read more

The service department is horrible. 1st of all my family and I have purchased 5 vehicle's in the past 3 years from Metro but will never again. When you buy a car, part of what you look at is how they will service it (if they are efficient, trustworthy & get the work done in a timely manner). Today I had a 8:30 appointment to have "The works" done and a inspection. 10:30 a service man came and told me that they were just getting my car in because they had lost my keys but found them in another vehicle. I explained that I HAD to be home by 11:30 to care for my grandchildren. 11:25 I was called to the cashiers desk to pay. Guess what? They had charged me full price instead of the discount I had already set up. When I went to get my keys that is all I was given. No one told me what they had did or found and I know myself that my air filter is needing to be replace. When I asked the girl about my inspection she told me that I would find it in my dashboard. In the next year I plan on buying a new Fusion but it will be another dealership. read more

Honestly, I don't understand the negative reviews! I am now on my third Mustang. I am extremely knowledgeable on the features and models. I saw a 2015 Mustang Ecoboost on Cars.com sent and email and was replied to within 30 minutes. They scheduled a time for me to come in at my convenience. The sales staff was very friendly and knew just about as much as I did! I'm only 19, but they had me in the driver seat within minutes of us walking in. I was not pressured in the sale at all. I knew what I could spend and what I wanted to spend. Honestly we probably put more pressure on the salesman to get the price down, and it worked. I drove of the lot the same day in a 2015 Mustang, paying even less than I was aiming for! I was told that management had recently changed and a lot of changes were happening, so I don't know if that's why there many negative reviews. But I had a lot of fun and laughs in my experience and would come again, that's not something usually said about a dealership. read more

Beware of Metro Ford sales tactics - salesman's agreeing to a "Deal" then backtracking after the "mysterious manager in the corner" puts the "squeeze on". Twice I had a "Deal" once verbal and one by e-mail only to be played against another potential buyer.......communication mysteriously stopped until it was sold......obvious questionable sales shenanigan's. Truly horrible place to work with. My 19 year old son has a F-150 that he had transmission problems with. I recommended against a dealership because they are always money hungry and always say "new transmission". He had a certified guy rebuild the transmission, still had a problem. Took to metro Ford they said new wiring harness, $600 and it'll run fine. Against my better judgment I agreed. Spent $600, exact same thing. Right back to metro Ford and they said it needs a new transmission. I said no and I want my 600 back because they didn't fix anything. I spent 1.5 hours arguing with them and even agreed to go 50/50. They said no. I tried calling the owner, Cory, and he never returned my calls! HOW'S THAT FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will never return and always talk people out of metro Ford for any reason! By the way, my truck needed a $50 part. It now works great, done by a transmission shop. TRULY PATHETIC METRO FORD! read more

My wife and I recently both bought vehicles from them in the same week. I feel they treated both of us very fair. I absolutely hate the process of buying a vehicle but this was one of the least painful ones I've had. Isaiah helped both of us and he was great to work with. We truly appreciate working with George Rackley. He's our 'Go To' person when we're looking for a different vehicle. He helps us feel comfortable, as though we know him and, we certainly appreciate his sales style. He is assertive and patient. He cares deeply about his customers. In fact, during our session with him, he had promised another customer a personal delivery at a particular time around the corner but we had walked in and had his full attention. He multi-tasked to make sure he kept his word with the other person while still working with us. He was able to because another team member was happy to make delivery at the appointed time. It's really nice to witness Team Work in what is traditionally a very competitive arena. Metro Ford has many choices in all the makes and models on the Pre-owned lot. I sense that if there was a problem right after purchase, Metro Ford would make it right. I now own TWO Ford Escapes (2009 and 2014). I also appreciate the Finance Manager, Paul Young. He found us an excellent low interest rate from a bank out of Columbia Mo. We APPRECIATE giving our business to a small home town bank. We're pleased to see Metro Ford giving the 'little guy' a chance. Paul made the finance process easy. I've got to say. I had high hopes coming into this. I found what looked like a great truck for a decent price. Talked to the salesman Erich Phillips for a few days, had him send me a video. Asked for it's quality, or if it had any issues I needed to be aware of, how the body looked etc. I was sent a video of it, that's when he pointed at what he said was the only body damage which was a dent in the bumper. Telling me there wasn't a single thing wrong with truck, no leaks, no noises, ran like it was brand new. So we arrange for me to drive 6 hours to see it. I show up, and realize that there were multiple minor scratches, multiple dents and dings. And a 'small' oil leak that apparently they had no idea about. I noticed the undercarraige was exceptionally clean which was odd, and a small drop of oil on the upper oil pan. They stated they wouldn't drop the price, and the oil leak wasn't significant enough for a repair or for them to lower the price. So let's fast forward, I drive it home, come out the next morning and see a puddle of oil in my driveway, climb up under the truck and notice that it wasn't some minor leak but enough now that the upper oil pan was coated in oil, flex plate, even back to the lower oil pan. The salesman obviously wouldn't respond to me after brought this to attention. So I just wanted to give you all a heads up that honesty is not their best policy, and they will do whatever they can to push vehicles out the door. Bought an f-150 in July 2014,June of 2015 thing needs a new motor glad I bought the extended warranty so I thought. It took the 8 total weeks they had the truck for 6 weeks. 3 months later I'm hearing bad noises from the new motor, take it in they say they don't hear it but want to try and figure it out it's been 3 days and haven't even heard from them. yelp: please write code for a "zero stars". thank you. i purchased a vehicle from metro ford on august 26, 2015. prior to purchase of the vehicle, the salesman, george indelicato informed my wife and i that there was an issue with the throttle/pedal that was to be repaired/fixed and by the chevrolet dealer, cable-dahmer before the sale would be final. he ensured us that it would be inspected by his service department that it was done properly and in good, safe working order before the sale was finalized. on august 24, 2015, cable-dahmer performed the work on the above mentioned vehicle. i was told that it was in good, working order. just a week later on september 3rd, the vehicle malfunctioned with what was to be repaired initially prior to the sale. this occurred on two more separate occasions. on october 9th and november 12th. when i picked up from the fourth repair, when the dealer told me it was ready, and "ran like a top". it malfunctioned the exact way it did the very first time, that same night i picked it up on november 19th, 2015. during this entire ordeal the customer service has been non-existant. i have been treated with contempt. as if i have been inconveniencing them, metro ford. i have been the one who has had to travel each time to pick up the vehicle when it is "supposedly" repaired again. it was not until the fourth incident, that metro ford even offered a loaner vehicle. cable-dahmer chevrolet, whom i did not purchase a vehicle from gave me a loaner vehicle to drive. george indelicato, david, the sales, or general manager, have been difficult at best. condescending and contentious at times. this is the worst car buying experience. at no point was i contacted during, or after any of these visits to find out how the vehicle was performing. the amount of time and energy spent dealing with this situation is ridiculous. i have purchased several vehicles and have had a few issues. the dealers have addressed them directly and issue resolved. metro ford is unwilling to relent and refuses. this has to be, by far, the worst automotive dealership in the kansas city area. perhaps in the entire midwest. read more

Metro Ford is the best dealership around! It was by far the least stressful car buying process I've gone through. The car salesman, Jamison, was awesome all around. He was very patient and went through multiple options for us. This wasn't very easy because I was a little upside down in my previous car, but they worked with us and helped us not roll over a ton of negative equity. Jason, the manager, was also very helpful. He didn't pressure us at all and totally understood that we wanted to shop around still too. He said he wanted our business, but he also wanted us to be happy with our new car. They were all very laid back, but straight forward. Financing was a breeze too. We were easily approved for the 0% interest Ford was offering as well and that helps a ton! They fill up your gas tank and detail your new car before you take it home too! I've been to some dealerships that don't do anything like that and if you ask they force you into giving a good review online and then they fill up your gas or what have you. Ford was NOT like that at all! They just did all of that without even asking. I believe their good reviews to be true and honest because I've learned from experience they really do treat their customers well. Hopefully our new Ford Fusion lasts us a long time, but when the time comes to buy again I will definitely be coming back to Metro Ford in Independence! read more

This place is horrible! We are having a small piece of trim on the door of our car replaced. We were told that it would only take five minutes to replace. We figured it would take closer to 15 since they are so busy. Over one hour later we were still waiting so we went to enquire about how much longer it would take. We were told to stand at the front of the building because they are finishing up and they were bringing the car around. The guy who told us that then disappeared and we never saw him again. That was 20 minutes ago. We asked at the counter where our car was and we were told that Mike would be up in a minute to talk to us. He never showed. We have been here over an hour for a five minute fix. No answers and really no comminication with us as customers at all. Basic customer service skills are extremely lacking at this place. Further they are overbooked and overpriced for the work they do. read more

Best Dealership Experience I have ever had! I had shopped all over Kansas City before a friend told me to try Metro Ford. I checked their website to make sure they had what I wanted. I was impressed with all of the pictures and info available and when I called to speak with someone in person, they were so quick to answer any and all questions I had with no pressure. I set an appointment and when I stopped in they were so friendly and knowledgeable. They had the vehicle I wanted ready to go and in only a few minutes had my car appraised and showed me the best figures I had seen ( and as I said, I had shopped around) again with NO PRESSURE! This dealership has upheld their responsibility to us as buyers and did a quality job of it on multiple occassions. The ONLY suggestion we have for improving service is that you could work on fine tuning communication skills between crew and between crew and customers a bit. We were left wondering exactly what was going on a bit too long during some of our buying and repair experiences. We also had no idea that our credit would be run through so many different loan companies during our buying process. It would be good for them to explain to everyone whom they may have to do this with. We think there was a little confusion because crew didn't communicate as affectively as possible. However, they do a thorough job, they are much more willing to go the extra mile to keep a customer, their prices and time to get your vehicle out of repairs is always better than any other place around, they uphold their agreements and back up their work every time. We are always very pleased and it is worth it to do all our automotive business here. read more

I purchased a vehicle on Ebay and Metro Ford of Independence (on Noland Road) was the seller. I paid their "Buy It Now" price for the car. I drove 90 minutes to finalize the transaction and drive the car home and at the very end they tacked on some never before mentioned dealer fees. BUYER BEWARE, if you think you have settled on a price, you have not. Even if it is a legally binding contract like Ebay, they will not sell you the car at the agreed upon price unless you pay their additional dealer fees. There was NO MENTION of these fees in the auction or on the phone when I spoke with the dealer MULTIPLE times. Granted, the dealer fees were $200 and that is not a lot of money considering the price of the car but it is the principle of the matter that made my buying experience one I will not repeat, ever, and I recommend you find a more honest dealer. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO GIVE CAR DEALERS A BAD NAME. read more
