Providing electrical power is a business and they have to charge for this service, if they don't they will not stay in business for long. Because of what I was going through I was having financial problems, however when I finally went in and explained what was happening they bent over backwards to help me. Erin, Tami and Julie O were phenomenal. They DO understand sometimes people get caught in circumstances beyond their control and want to work with you. And Julie V...she is a shining star in the darkest night. I can't say enough about her other than, "So Julie, do you like Chinese food?"

Amerigas will rip you off and has many hidden fees and terrible customer service. They allow old…read moreoutdated tanks to continue to be in use and will charge you over $400 just to pick up a small tank. They also charge a $150 line inspection fee every time they fill your tank. If you have an issue you will not speak with anyone local, the customer service is overseas and not able to resolve issues or questions. I would not ever use this company again and I believe they take advantage of people with hidden fees and cost.

Found out after switching to AmeriGas as a residential customer about 2 years ago (near Brainerd, MN) that Amerigas constantly adds on charges, and prices are as much as 1/3 higher than competitors. Pulling their tank next month when a new tank is delivered from another supplier. Examples of the charges - EVERY delivery, $13.99 HAZMAT charge (competitor - none); every delivery $9.99 fuel recovery fee (competitor-none). 08.01.23 propane delivery price was $2.81/gal. (competitor, $1.66 at the same time); Amerigas recently added a radio monitor that you must rent nto measure consumption (some thing I expressly did not want because I do not need it- $11.99 month) Customer service for Amerigas-none local-always sent to out-of-the country switchboard that has no idea what they are doing (don't blame them, they have never been trained and are not given any useful information - a total waste of time and very frustrating!). Competitor- always local assistance with personnel that can understand your need and take care of business. When management was contacted he stated they are making "incremental changes" which I heard over one year ago and realize that will never happen (i.e. overseas call center). He stated they do not want to loose me as a customer so he would credit me .50 cents a gallon for the August delivery although they charged more than $1.00 more than their competitor and also had various add on charges for the delivery that their competitor does not.
