They were able to repair programming on a chipped key and make me a replacement chipped master key and fob. They were able to make keys for my storage bin without a key to even copy! Just bought a new house and wanted the locks changed right away. I call two other places who could not get me in until the next week and were "unsure" if they could install the type of lock I purchased. I needed a spare key made for my daughter 2007 equinox The key has a security chip in it I called ahead was told the programmer would be there to program the key The key was cut for $35 then I was told $15 to program the key did I want it programmed sure what good is it with out it being programmed The programmer ran out to the car and 30sec later returned Turns out programming consists of inserting the old key removing it and inserting the new key This could of been communicated to me rather then change me $15 for the service I just think this is a bit of a scam read more

I started using Metro Lock when they were located in Belleville because they were so close to home, so when they moved to Fairview I just followed them since there aren't many choices. I've had them change the locks on my house after mine were stolen, make new keys to my car after they had broken, and make new keys and lock for a safe after I lost mine, in addition to just making duplicates. I'm not a locksmith expert but they seem pretty hit or miss here, it just depends on which person you are working with. Having keys to my car made was just a flat out nightmare, I called ahead and they confirmed they were able to do what I needed. 3 hours later, they had kind of done what I needed but they never got the programmable portion right so every time I would start the car with that set of keys, my alarm would go off. They never fixed that I just learned to work around it. So when they never called me to tell me they had my second key fob in, I never bothered because I didn't have the time to waste on something they couldn't get right. However, changing the locks on my house wasn't an issue other than their serviceman was just unpleasant. The other simple fixes have been simple and they did good on those. In the store itself, most all of the employees are pleasant but the wait time is usually insane and their waiting area is the most boring place imaginable. I'll probably use this place again in the future even though I don't love it, just because I know it. But not on car locks for that I've cough up the extra money and go to a dealership. read more

Went to get a key made and they couldn't program the key. Then they reprogrammed my factory key and couldn't get it to work either. They had my vehicle 2 days and came up with excuse after excuse as to why it was something wrong with my vehicle and nothing to do with their programming. After a holiday weekend and being without my vehicle for a week, I took it to my mechanic. Sure enough, it was their INCOMPETENCE!!! It cost me another $100 after paying metro $35 to get my vehicle reprogrammed!!! These people are IDIOTS!!! Beware, do not go here!!! read more

I really wanted to support my local lock and key business but they failed miserably. Lesson learned and will continue to support my other business even though its a longer drive. Ordered parts which took a week and made an appt for them to program a key fob. Spent hour and a half during my lunch to find out they dont have the right equipment. Low quality of training and no management support. Also while waiting they cant even cut a simple key from what I heard a few customers who came in. I would of been happy if they told me they might not be able to program but they gave me a false sense of confidence. My fault I should of passed on this company. read more

After a home lockout, I called Metro for assistance. I was told the wait would be 30 minutes. Quite a bit more than 30 minutes had gone by, when I called back. I was told that the person responding to the call would be pulling up "any minute". Any minute did not happen, so I had to call back, yet again, from a neighbors phone, again, as my phone was locked in the house. It was so very late. I informed the owner about my husband's Multiple Sclerosis and a need to get him in his chair. THEN he decided to call his employee to inquire as to when he might arrive. NOW he's 3miles away. It's been a very long wait. Took more than an hour to get to our home. More like an hour and a half, hour forty five. When the driver did arrive, he pulled into the residential parking lot of the condominium complex that contains carports. He stopped, backed, and then pulled the very tall van up to the carport, and then into the roof of the carport. There was lots of crunching noise, and the carport is damaged. I did not want to say a word. I was so angry about the wait, so worried for my husband. The ONLY words the employee had to say were "I'm not used to driving these vans. The others weren't so tall ". Yes, I figured his night was bad enough, as well, and that I might hear from the owner who had "helped" me on the phone the night before. Hearing nothing this next day, I called the office. A nice lady really wanted to help me. I have not heard from the owner. I really should have called the police, and had a report filed. But these dang small towns, you know? I saw one of their vans a block away from my house today. "Reliability". I don't think I'll be giving Metro a second chance. "Dependability". Uh huh. "Speedy". If you call them, see if they will give you the same deal Dominoes does. "24 hour emergency service". Yes. With caveats they won't bother communicating with you. It might take that long to get to you. I think for the emergency car or home lock out, IF YOU HAVE HEALTH CONCERNS this is absolutely NOT the business to call. If you are hungry and want to pee sometime soon, this is not the business to call. If you would like a business to keep it's commitments and/or communicate with you when they can't, these folks might not be your cup of tea. read more

Got us out of a bind over the weekend. Our front door knob and lock seized up on us when we came home from shopping this afternoon. We could not lock the door at all. The technician was at our house within an hour of our call. He replaced the front door lock and updated the cylinders on two outside doors so the new key would work on all doors. He also made four key copies and tested them all before leaving. A job well done. I will call Metro again if I need additional security services. read more

This business is very well run. The owner always takes customer calls and treats everyone with complete respect. Had a lockout of my car at 10pm at night and they got a guy out to me in 30 minutes! Definitely would recommend going to Metrolock and security! read more

It would have been 5stars but its poor quality in making chip keys. SO I bought me key June 2013 and now its broke August 2013 and I didn't have my receipt so I couldn't get any help. ALSO MY KEY HAD A CHIP IN IT SO IT WAS $26 and the lady I spoke with on the phone before arriving didn't mention I should have a receipt in order to get another key!!! read more
