We walked in on a Saturday afternoon, and were greeted by Joseph (Joe). He was very attentive, responsive, and he listened well to what we were looking for. While I completely understand that he needed to show us all our options, he helped us realize that we only really needed a base, as opposed to a box spring to go with our mattress. He explained all our options VERY well, and did not pressure us at all to buy anything we didn't need (even if it meant that we were spending less money in store). The fact that he offered us cold water to drink was such a nice touch, it put both me and my husband at ease. We will definitely be returning to this particular location, and working closely ONLY with Joe in the future. The delivery of the item was very smooth, and the delivery people were very communicative throughout the process. They explained everything to my husband (who, fortunately, was able to be home to receive the item), and they were VERY helpful in removing our old box spring from the premises. To anyone who might be reading this review, PLEASE consider Mattress Firm for all your mattress needs. Joseph is a top-notch sales associate, and the delivery people are also very professional and courteous when delivering the items. She spent many hours working with our family on this significant purchase. When there was a special sale on bed linens Lori travelled to 3 different showrooms looking for our desired sheet sets as she didn't want us to miss out on finding exactly what we wanted. When we purchased a second Hastens bed Lori worked to find the best shipping options and handled coordinating all logistics for a cross-country delivery. Shopping for a mattress was exhausting...the exhaustion amplified by me having to sleep on my son's lower bunkbed and she in the girls room on a twin... while we canvased the world for a waterless replacement. Fortunately we included KleinSleep in our exhaustive search. We were rewarded with an informed, no-pressure purchasing experience. I bought my Duxiana 515 mattress in November of 2014 from Duxiana in Greenwich. As anyone who has…read morebought a mattress before would know the industry can be very confusing and deceiving. I was hoping that stepping into this realm of mattress would be different and provide a more transparent sales process. I became interested in Duxiana after having issues with sleeping hot and beds that retained too much heat. I spoke with the manager of the store who assured me that this bed would not do that because it is made from all natural materials and therefore it "breathes". I spent $12,000 buying a king size mattress believing the idea that what you pay for is what you get and therefore in theory a more expensive mattress should be a better mattress and therefore provide a better nights sleep. Buying this mattress was the WORST purchase that I have ever made. The 2 inch thick piece of "latex" foam absorbs so much heat that I have to get up in the middle of the night to allow the bed to cool down. The bed is incredibly bouncy so anytime your partner moves you will feel it. Almost like a water bed. My wife and I both feel like we have trouble falling back to sleep after being woken up with more difficulty in this bed then any other. My advice to anyone considering this bed would be to try EVERY other mattress with a comfort guarantee first. In an industry selling comfort, Duxiana is one of the only manufacturers that does not provide a comfort guaranty. After buying the mattress and having so many issues with it I called the company and got directed to the CEO. I offered to pay a restocking fee to have the mattress returned. I was told that they don't guarantee comfort and that you can't please everyone but "most" people like it so they are ok with that. The owner of the Greenwich Store (more on that in a minute) "tried" to help but ultimately did not provide any refund and I am still out all the money I spent and I am currently shopping for a new mattress. Also, I would be remiss if I didn't mention some things I learned about the company during this whole process. First, I believed from the website and the way the company presents itself that the company owns all of its stores. This is not true. The Greenwich store is basically a privately owned small business which sells Duxiana beds. This is important to note for 2 reasons. One is that any promotions furnished by the stores are not cross honored so if you receive a merchandise credit while purchasing your bed you cannot use it at other stores. The other is that if you have a problem with your bed the company directs you to deal with the store owner. I felt comfortable with this purchase because I felt like I was dealing with a large company who would "make it right" if something was wrong. Also, if you plan on staying in a hotel which happens to use Duxiana beds in their rooms you should know that the beds in the rooms are not sold in stores. They are a bed produced for the hotel industry and therefore not entirely representative of the bed you will be buying in your home. In short there is absolutely no way to tell if you will like this bed and nothing you can do about it if you dont; well, except lose $12,000. Take my advice. Look elsewhere.

Shopping at Craig's is an experience. A very New York City experience…read more Having previously purchased a mattress online and having to return it because I hated it, I didn't want to go through that experience again. I stopped by a few mattress shops in the city, but they were very small and many just carried the major online brands that were non-traditional mattresses (memory foam, no coils). A google search brought me to Craig's: a lot of glowing Yelp reviews, Google reviews, and a New Yorker article describing this "speakeasy" mattress shop. Given that Craig's is located right by my office, I made an appointment online. As others have mentioned, be prepared that Craig's is located on the second floor of an office building and that your appointment will be 1:1. Craig will ask you what kind of mattress you like, cut a piece of cloth for you, and place it on various mattresses as you try them. You never feel rushed or pressured. He IS chatty, so be prepared for that too. I tried many mattresses and ultimately found a mattress that I liked and placed an order (the first one that he showed me!). Fast forward to the day before delivery. I had told Craig I was moving in the morning and would need the mattress to come after noon, but when I got my delivery window it was the first one in the morning. He called the delivery company and they wanted to schedule it for the evening, but he correctly pointed out that because I was in a doorman building they might not let the delivery people up in the evening. He gave me two options: he would go meet them at my building in the morning and let them in OR he would come in the evening and help bring it up to my apartment if they wouldn't let the delivery people up. What? This is a crazy level of service. He also must have spent an hour on the phone between talking to me and the delivery company trying to figure this all out. It turned out my building was able to let them in without Craig being present, but his wilingness to go so far and beyond will not be forgotten by me!

He advised us to go to Macy's which has the best selection. He never pressured us to buy. We did go to Macy's plus one other store but ultimately decided that Craig had the best bed for the best price. We appreciated the time he took and the no-pressure approach. We now have our new bed and are totally thrilled with it. I highly recommend Craig as he knows his stuff and gives you the time and space to comfortably come to a decision.
