Metro mattress was great. They didn't hover and they gave my husband and I time to look around. It was great!

Purchased a Posh and Lavish mattress, mattress topper, and adjustable base during their memorial…read moreday sale at the end of May, during the transaction we were hesitant on an adjustable base because we wanted a headboard. Gabe the salesperson told us we needed either a Posh and Lavish base or an adjustable base to not void warranty. This was true, however he also told us the adjustable base was the same price as the Posh and Lavish base which was very much untrue as the Posh and Lavish base was about 50% less, he also did not tell us the delivery charge for a standard base vs an adjustable base was 100 dollars more. We were also told a headboard would be easily attached which was important to us. We found out later we had to buy special brackets to attach a headboard at an additional cost for a base we really did not want in the first place. Also on the day of purchase we went over the 30 day sleep guarantee that they supposedly offer, again something that was important to us as we were spending almost 8000 dollars. We were told we needed to purchase a very expensive mattress pad cover for the warranty to be valid. We purchased the cover as the warranty was very important to us. We find out later the Posh and Lavish brand is not even covered under the sleep guarantee. All along the sales experience this was never told to us or we would have never purchased the mattress in the first place. Unfortunately we signed their purchase agreement based on the information the sales person Gabe had verbally told us. DO NOT DO THIS, take it home and read it over closely, you are basically waving all your rights as a consumer. We unfortunately fell into the trap as we thought what we were being told was trustworthy. We didn't find any of this out until after we paid in full. Then the issues started. The first was the order was delayed almost three weeks after the order was supposed to be delivered. This was frustrating, yes, but even more frustrating was getting someone to return our phone call or give us an answer to when our order would be delivered. Finally the bed did get delivered, exciting! Not so much, the delivery drivers dragged the base across our hardwood floors from our front door to our bedroom scratching them the entire way. They also delivered us a floor sample topper. They offered us a free set of pillows or sheets to make up for the damage. They then gave us the run around about the topper saying even though it said floor sample it was new. A call to the manufacturer told us using a floor sample voided all warranty. Several calls later, which by the way takes week(s) as you have to deal with a gentleman named Nick out of their Syracuse store who is a go between for Kevin and is rarely available and even worse at returning phone calls. So they finally agree to replace the topper and give us the headboard brackets we needed to put a headboard on the bed. The new topper gets delivered along with the brackets. Oh boy! No way another problem, the new mattress topper box looks very old and dusty. It says on it must be opened within 30 days of manufacture. Another call to Posh and Lavish and it is confirmed the topper was manufactured on 4/3/24. The topper is over a year old. We were advised by Posh and Lavish not to open it and they would be concerned about the integrity being squished in a box that long. Kevin lies to Posh and Lavish and tells them it will be replaced. At this point we dispute the credit card purchase. We did not want to take it this far but we felt our back was against a wall after the way we were being treated. This unfortunately got denied. Remember when I said do not sign their purchase agreement until you have fully read it over. At this point we just want the new topper we paid for, we gave up on everything else. Posh and Lavish says it is not their problem and after finally getting back in touch with Nick he says that Kevin is "good" and their not going to replace it. Mattress was purchased May 25th and it is now August 11th.

Love love love Sleepmaster, so much so that I've made two (relatively expensive) purchases there…read more My primary motivation for searching for and purchasing WJ Southard mattresses was ecological. They are a local retailer and manufacturer. They source and use quality materials that are natural/organic. I've never experienced any off-gassing, something I'm extremely sensitive to. The longevity of the mattress far exceeds a traditional innerspring. Their mattresses definitely come at a higher price point than if you were to go to Metro Mattress, Dream City, etc., but I have no doubt I will be sleeping on our Sleepmaster mattress for 20 or more years. I can say already that after I first purchased a Linklaen in 2014, I bought a run of the mill pillowtop from Dream City for our guest bedroom. The guest bed has already shit out on us, after hosting a handful of guests and occasionally my sleepy dog. Carol is a wonderful salesperson (and she may be the only one there?), knows her product, is personable and straightforward. She always seems willing to cut a deal for you, especially if you are a return customer. I don't know if this is part of her sales gimmick, but if it is, it is effective as her delivery is quite sincere. I ended up purchasing a Linklaen, which is Sleepmaster's all latex model. It is definitely a very firm mattress, and keep in mind that if you lay on their floor model in the store, it is MUCH softer than what you will actually receive, after being broken in by many backs and butts of people wanting to test it out. When I moved into a bigger house and had a bedroom that could accommodate a king, I went back to Sleepmaster and ended up getting an Archetype pillowtop, which is a bit softer model. It is a traditional innerspring with a latex topper. There is no breaking in period for this model. It feels like it's been your ride or die mattress. It is firm enough for me, soft enough for my husband, and roomy enough for the two of us, a toddler and a dog. The Archetype pillowtop is one of Sleepmaster's most expensive models - including delivery an hour away, it set me back $3402 (I did not purchase the box spring, that was just for the mattress). However! If the mattress lasts 20 years at least, and I'm sleeping on it every night, it breaks out to about .46 cents per night's sleep, and that sounds pretty good to me. FYI, if you are searching for WJ Southard, Sleepmaster is the stockist, and that is where Google Maps will send you if you're searching for Southard.

Our experience was somewhat unique and the crew at Kingston MM: Jake, JoAnne, Chris & Matthew bent over backwards to accommodate me. Our mother is quite ill and needed a better mattress for spending long hours in bed. After pitching me the perfect choice it came to the attention of a new employee that they in fact did not have it in stock, lesson learned I suspect. When someone needs something yesterday, don't sell them something that can't be here till next week. Instead of sending me off empty handed we settled on a compromise hoping it would work. It did not. I contacted them, they got it sent from Ottawa and the exchange took place. We live on an island, getting on and off, timing when Mom would not be in the bed, would be almost impossible. The solution bring the replacement back to the house, do the switch when she was up in the wheelchair, and change them out then. This is not the store policy, and frankly should not be, but our situation required some compassionate compromise and it was delivered in spades. Since Covid, the whole service industry has been thrown in a tail spin. Staff shortages, lack of experience, the list goes on. The end result has been overall poor customer service everywhere, with the expectation that we the customer pay more for it and accept it. For us, in a time when good old customer service was needed, we got it! I can't thank the team at Kingston Mattress Mart enough. It has not been an easy 6 weeks and it won't get easier, but at least we know that Mom can sleep comfortably. Thanks again for your efforts.

He then suggested several options at various price ranges. Our only disappointment was with the delivery. The driver was rude and appeared to be in a rush, resulting in damage to our mattress. Once I brought this to the attention of the store manager the problem was immediately rectified, and the mattress was exchanged. The manager and new delivery team were amazing to work with. I would highly recommend Mattress Mart as they have a wide selection of great quality merchandise, with great sales & after-sales personnel.

Excessive force is required to get it to close. I asked for a repair or replacement. The repair man called saying it would be weeks for the part to come in and I said that I can't wait that long. It was replaced by an exact duplicate, even down to the color. The second one doesn't work either. It's an expensive piece of garbage that only my cat can use. I can't get the lever to work and if I push the end of the recliner with my foot so it will go back in, that doesn't work either. I called their store and was told that I won't get a refund of the white glove delivery fee. I kept saying over and over "but It doesn't work," to which the woman on the other and of the line kept repeating her mantra that it was delivered. Sorry, but that excuse doesn't work. This falls under not fit for ordinary use under warranty law. I shouldn't have to use excessive force to close it. I want a total refund. I paid $758.16 including tax and the white glove delivery fee. I also paid the delivery guys (first recliner) $40 in a tip. Altogether Dunk and Bright owes me $798.16. I want my money back NOW. My primary care provider told me to keep my legs elevated. I have lymphedema. I NEEDED this thing to work. I am disabled and am still recovering from major abdominal surgery. I am very angry. It shouldn't be this hard to get help. This product is defective.
