Immediately after posting my review I was contact by the owner, Mr Abuta, inviting me to meet over coffee and discuss my experience. He was sincerely interested in learning what Exxon could have done differently to improve my experience following the lose of my car. There is always a gap between what an insurance company will reimburse you for your loss and the replacement value of that item, in this case a car. Mr Abuta very kindly agreed to bridge that gap to get me back into an equivalent used vehicle. Plus he picked up my out of pocket cost for car rental. We both felt this was a fair and equitable resolution. Once we were in direct contact I found Mr. Abuta to be a concerned and caring business owner for whom relationship in the community is very important. I have no reservations at this point in bringing my (new used) car back to Georgetown Exxon for service. read more

8/13/19 My 2006 Chevy Impala V8 required a new radiator. It had to be towed by AAA or engine damage would have occurred. The quote was for 1250 dollars. This may seem to be high to anyone who does not understand the amount of careful work required for the replacement of a radiator in a V8 engine of this type.. There is virtually no room in the engine compartment and to make the wrong decision in installation would be costly to all concerned. Therefore the labor cost of 775 dollars and the .parts of 430 was fair. The part wholesales for around 350 dollars. Since the work requires care the many hours were a good example. The National average is about 1100 dollars for the job. I have been familiar with truck and car engines since I have been a kid. It was a tough job. This is my first experience with the Exxon station. I hope to return should my car need service read more

Metro Motor offers stellar service, I worked with Jamie to get my alternator replaced on my 2007 Volkswagen hatchback and I have zero complaints. Service - Jamie was extremely transparent throughout the entire process. He was upfront as to what needs to be done and did not push me on 20 other services. I got updates and timelines throughout so I could take the appropriate time off to collect the car. Price - Metro Motor only uses OEM or original parts. Meaning there is a price premium on the parts that they're purchasing. Though I got lower quotes elsewhere, this place made sure they're putting in a part that's going to last you another 10 years. Time Frame - My car was towed to Metro Motor on a Friday night, got a quote on Saturday, and collected my car on a Sunday. Straightforward and would have been a same day fix if they had the part available. read more

I brought in my 98 Voyager after it had been stolen and found. The thieves had ripped out the ignition and the mechanics suggested a cheaper used one versus a much more expensive new one. They also need to replace the steering column. This was not the problem. The problem was a month later when the steering started to get loose I took it to a friend's repair shop, WB Motors. He took the plastic panel off from below the steering assembly and all the pieces just feel out. The morons at Georgetown Exxon had not placed the safety bolt, OR THE PIN TO HOLD THE BOLT ON, properly and it has come totally off. I was one bump away from not being able to control my car while driving it. They also quoted me $322 to repair the back window which WB did for $134. Will never bring a vehicle here again. read more

I needed new tires on my car and had ordered them online. I had an appointment scheduled somewhere else and someone suggested that I look into going to Georgetown Exxon. I thought sure why not, and I am SOO glad that I did. They are absolutely wonderful there. I called that day and explained what I needed done and Jamie responded with "Not a problem at all, bring it right in". They were all so nice there and much cheaper than any other place in DC that I was considering going. He also had it ready when I said I needed it ready without questions, which is a HUGE plus in my book. If you need any type of service, then I highly recommend that you go here!! I had such a great experience here. I'm new to the area and brought my car here after it started overheating one day just because it was the closest thing around. They immediately opened the hood, took a look around, fixed a leak that was causing my coolant to leak out rapidly, filled up the reservoir, and gave me an extra bottle of coolant. They also fixed an AC knob that had been broken for years after I just mentioned it in conversation. At the end of of the visit, they noted that they were actually closed before I came in and refused to charge me for any of their services. They were so nice, efficient, and actually knowledgable. My Saab stopped dead in D.C. The AAA came to help and directed us to Jamie Ladson at Georgetown Exxon. Wise choice. The compressor,idler pulley and serpentine belt were fixed or replaced and we were on the road again in record time. Being from out of town I feared the cost - it was VERY reasonable and I am now back in Ct. and there has not been one problem with the car. So, they are courteous, extremely competent and honest! My car was broken into in dc and I needed to get all the broken glass out of my car and try and rapidly patch up my window since it was raining. I stopped at this Exxon and the staff were so kind and helpful. They gave me a vacuum to clean up the glass and even made a cardboard cutout for my window and gave me tape to patch it onto my car. They really helped me out when I was in a bind and I can't say enough about how much I appreciated their help. read more

I have a really old Acura, and they did exactly what needed to be done to keep it running great, without giving me the hard sell on stuff they probably could have done but wasn't necessary right now. Warren took his time to explain everything they were doing and why, and made sure all my questions were answered. I recently moved to DC from Maryland, and had few times minor problems with my car, and both times I was lucky to be serviced by Youssif a young mechanic in the workshop. He went out of his way and even during his lunch break to service me, which I found extremely kind of him. Yes, they had to change the lug nuts but 1) they charged $9.74 for each $3 nut, and 2) they said it took an hour (to change 4 nuts?) for which they charged $169 (the standard is $80-$100.) Plus of course $27 for "materials and fees". Outrageous overcharging! Keep away. read more

Excellent overall experience. Noticed a potential fuel leak in my car and sent them an email via their site late Friday night. Had a call from Jamie the service manager minutes later and they had determined the problem and proposed a solution by noon the next day (Saturday). Very transparent about costs and timing. I live in Georgetown and a regular at Metro Motors. I brought my Audi Q5 for oil servicing. During the service, Jamie noticed a flap underneath the front of the car hanging lose and fixed it at no cost. These guys not just do what you ask them to do but they also check other things thoroughly and will inform you if it requires your attention. read more
