I'll be honest...I know diddly squat about Cold Spring's history and who the settlers were. But-…read morewith a charming Main St., what I do know- is how damn cute the Village is. It's like a Norman Rockwell painting! Cold Spring may be known for many things I don't even know about- but from what hubs and I noticed the short time we hung around, were the many Antique shops and some Art Galleries. And without forgetting their other eclectic collection of shops, restaurants and the most gorgeous looking B&Bs and Inns. There's also a wonderful view of the Hudson and mountains if you go further down to Dockside Park. Homes or businesses here- are located down narrow roads or a little alleyway, that is too picturesque for words. And no, there's no McDonalds! Truth to be told- I loved our Cold Spring detour before heading up to Woodstock, NY- and so glad we did and experience their genuine slice of cuteness.

We didn't take the tour but we visited the actual cold Springs area for the first time in the place…read moreis stunning - it's fancy and neat, with little shops and antique stores beautifully presented with a touch of humor, very-very beautiful picturesque scenery, the general vibe feels very nice very comfortable. I really wouldn't mind to move here if i had a job in the area or worked from home! PS. The main street also looks liberal with an enormous rainbow flag and an anti-anti-trump sticker in one of the windows , which makes the vibe even more appealing.

It instantly transports me to somewhere in Europe and there are lots of plants to touch, smell, and otherwise explore. It also is adjacent to this cute greenhouse building. I'd love to return with a camera and a few rolls of film. The view of West Point from the back of the gardens is breathtaking. We visited on a Sunday and the back lawn was completely empty. We sat down and fed the baby with that magnificent view in the back. It was so blissful and perfect.

The main building was actually relocated to this site from further south and has a rich history of the initial construction, gradual decay, disassembly, resurrection, catastrophic damage, and aggressive renovation. The main plaster/cement ceiling in the upstairs library actually crashed down one evening a few years ago and damaged much of the home with plaster dust. Fortunately, charitable contributions have helped to restore most of the site as a 2026, except for vintage-era wallpaper and some furniture. We were fortunate to visit after a winter of intensive renovation, which allowed us to get a much better sense of the home. Displays in the adjacent visitor's center and grounds provide some interesting history, but you should really time your arrival to take a tour led by one of the volunteer docents. It is a beautiful home, which I would give 5-stars to if renovations were complete.

We had an overall, great experience from start to finish. Takeaways: Dinner: 8.6/10 - subjective Debra (bartender): 10/10 (god dam she makes a drink - and you WANT to be around her). Night cap espresso martinis in the room were amazing! Breakfast (8:30-10:00am): 9/10 (could not believe how good that was for 'complimentary breakfast' which makes people nervous ) The Room: 7.8/10 - older but clean. This is an inn!! Quaint quiet clean - the bedroom TV didn't work - disappointing before bed, but not the reason we're here. Also, maid forgot hand soap for the room. FUN moment: we made (hand) soap at one of shops on Main Street- (cost $3.48 , had a lot left over lol) - was a fun oversight that made me make soap, by chance! Overall Service: 9.5/10. From the front desk to every waitstaff encountered , what a (small) lovely staff who truly makes you feel welcomed, not a bother in anyway and happy to be there. Sometimes a venue makes the experience special and sometimes the service makes the venue special. They are why we will return. This was a fun, easy, overnight that we're looking forward to turning into a tradition. We have walked passed for years and never been in until this past weekend! Thank you for hosting us and we look forward to being back!

10/10 would recommend! Deborah is amazing! She really knows how to make a drink! Genuinely great…read moreservice and atmosphere. Came here with friends for a drink. You can get sat at a table for food or there's a smaller bar area with about four/five chairs that you can enjoy a really well crafted cocktail at!
