I can not make this crap up with metro optics on parkchester. I've never seen such incompetent workers in my life. Shame on whoever hired them. On Friday 11/21 metro optics left a voice mail stating my glasses were ready. On 11/24/2025 I walk into metro optics on parkchester. I go directly to Ashley the same person who stated my glasses will be ready in 30 days. Lol I cannot make this ishhh up. I said I'm here to pick up my glasses. She says the glasses are not ready. I said this is the 2nd metro optics contacts me stating my glasses are ready. When they're not! Look at my reviews from last week. Where metro optics left me a first message stating the glasses were ready. At this point I'm extremely frustrated with the nonsense that goes on at this place for years. I told Ashley clearly this place lacks on communication. This is an on going issue with this company. She tried to give me a whole story as if I really wanted to hear the BS!! Then said someone didn't do their job. Clearly!!! It's an on going issue. I will be reaching out to 311 to voice my concerns. I would have never given metro optics a star. On January 5, 2026, i went to this location for my annual eye exam. To date, i still haven't received the eye glasses that I purchased. When I inquired as the status of my order. I was told that an employee at another metro optics location had submitted a claim for someone else under my insurance, which meant I wouldn't get my glasses. I then called my insurance company and filed an insurance fraud complaint. After making numerous calls my insurance was reinstated. To make a long story short, this location is very unprofessional and racist against black people. Because it's no way that I should have to wait this long for a pair glasses, especially after the insurance fraud issue. I believe that management at this location is personally delaying my order. The owner(s) of this business obviously do not have any standards for their employees. I definitely would not recommend this business to anybody. In fact, I plan to explore the option of filing a lawsuit against this business for insurance fraud and unnecessary pain and suffering. read more

They have issues picking up the phone. Towards the later hours closer to closing they will straight up hang up on you for no reason. Extremely unpredictable service, the glasses they have are constantly going in and out of stock so when you want to replace your pair they may not even have it anymore. When you purchase glasses they try to add expensive addons without really disclosing that. I went in for glasses that were supposed to be covered by my insurance and she said the price was like $400, it turns out she added thinning and anti glare and transitions and mad stuff to it like when did I ask for that girl. And then they give you so much attitude for literally no reason both over the phone and in person. That one old doctor man is weird and annoying and I will NEVER see him again if I can help it. If it wasn't for those 2 ladies there that make me feel at home I would rate this place 1 star, frankly it deserves 0 without them. They deserve the world though, love them! read more

The service at this location is awful. I recently had an appointment at this Parkchester location and the follow up was just plain ridiculous. The doctor did a very good job with the examination. I selected my glasses and almost six weeks later I am still waiting to get them. I have never ever had to wait this long to collect a pair of glasses that I paid out of pocket for. It is a waste of time trying to call the number as no one answers the phone, just the machine. If someone actually picks up the phone they place you on hold. I was on hold today for 25 minutes on one phone while trying to call on another phone. Eventually the call that was on hold was disconnected. I would like Metro Optics to get me my glasses that I paid for, so that I can go and never return there. I was a customer at Metro Optics for years. Been going here for years and the staff is always lovely. Nice to see them doing well especially through Covid. Needed glasses to go back to work and everyone was so sweet. Ivette (sp?) specifically helped me pick out the right shapes for my face and remembered me after so long. The doctor herself is so quick yet precise and informational, she made it easy to address any concerns. They also have their own lab and I was able to pick up my glasses within 2-3 days. 3rd time was the charm! After going to 2 other eyeglass places, with my mom - (including next door ) when my mom said "I still see double" they had said " get used to it and let us know". So when my husband needed glasses, I couldn't recommend him to the other places. He found MetroOptics in Parkchester. Upon arrival the place was packed, but not chaotic. We met Yvette and Angelica, who assisted my husband with superb customer service. He couldn't be more pleased with his new contact lenses and glasses. Aurora, took care of my mom. She knew as soon as she looked at my moms previous glasses- that they require a prism. That's impressive considering the 2 other places that had missed it. Glasses were ready in a few days . After picking up our glasses we can say these are the best we have owned. Aurora seems to value the individual in the community- you are not just a number. *disclaimer* this location is under construction I've been going here for a few years now, first stopped in at the recommendation of a family friend who always gets there glasses here. I had to stop by recently for a repair on my old frames, and I freaked out a little when I saw th store was closed for renovations - but they have a cool temporary location truck outside where a couple of staff members are working. They went out of their way to assist me, apologized for any inconvenience and told me if needed anything else they can't do, they would make arrangements for me at one of the other Metro Optics. I'm glad they are renovating - it was a little cramped before. But my eye exams are always smooth, the doctor is low-key but nice, professional. The ladies that work with you to find glasses are funny, very patient, and always help me find the right look close to my budget. read more

I recently purchased glasses from this location. They were very kind and respectful up until I bought the glasses. then I needed to return the glasses because they were not working right for me. They said they were going to get back to me. They never even bother calling because they already got my business. Granted I only had 30 days to exchange his glasses, according to my insurance, they never even bothered contacting my insurance, they wasted my 30 days and now l'm unable to replace my reading glasses with ones that work. I will never recommend this place to anyone if you ever have a problem and they are not making money, they simply don't want or care to correct the problem I rate this place c-- 1 would highly recommend going to another Metro Optics where actually they are nice all the time not just when they take your money and are willing to help you out if there's any problem regarding your glasses! I waited 5 weeks to get a replacement pair of frames. They constantly said the wait was due to my insurance, but upon calling my insurance after 3 weeks, my insurance company informed me that the frames were ready. I showed up after 5 weeks, and the frames weren't even the ones I selected. They blamed the insurance company again. They had very blunt, rude attitudes on the multiple occasions I spoke to the associates. The last time I went there and got the incorrect frames, one associate said there was nothing they could do to help and was very unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Slight misunderstanding at the beginning but we went over everything in detail and we resolved all our problems encountered. The customer service was off the chains. I went to another company across the street call Vision World Optics because I changed medical insurance unfortunately. I went to fix a rubber nose piece that fell off also my glasses I also needed adjustment. The ones I had on needed adjustment the girl told me because of CV-19 I have to leave them because they have no technician I told her the girl sitting down fixed my glasses the last time I was there I found it strange . She started talking about the CV-19 and I had to leave them for $10.00. I left went across the street to Metro Optics they don't except my insurance anymore but I took a chance . Once I went in the girl I told her I was willing to pay to fix them she said no am not charging you, she fixed them in seconds and adjusted the ones I had on. God is good. I went back to Vision World which in spent like over $500.00 there asked for my prescription, they just lost a client I will never go there again. I went in for my appt and was greeted by name and assisted with paperwork. The optometrist was kind of off and simply did the eye exam, no engagement with me. She helped me throughout the whole process from the beginning of my eye exam, to picking out frames, up until I picked up my glasses, she was amazing. MetroOptics has shown an immense LACK OF CONCERN and DISREGARD for the customers who give it business. I used to take my family there regularly for checkups and new glasses, but it does not live up to the standard it had set up before. Upon walking in with my child at 1:30PM, I was told to sit down and wait until 2PM to see the doctor without an appointment. I was made to wait until 3PM with no proper explanation as people who came into the store after me were taken in to have their checkups and glasses repaired. When I pointed this out to the people at the desk, I was replied to in a disagreeable tone and with VERY poor manners. I was not informed that people with appointments would push back my visit with the doctor. I had to leave without seeing the doctor or repairing my son's glasses today. I'll find some other place to handle our eyecare from now on. read more

The eye exam was fantastic, however the price of the contacts was not. After seeing a fantastic eye doctor I was upset that the prices of the contact lenses were changed. I asked the price of the exam and also of the lenses before agreeing to the exam. I was paying everything out of pocket. I asked for the price of the contact three times. All three times was told 170. After the exams and the follow up exam ,when it was time to actually get the contacts lenses the price changed to 230. Took my prescription to order it online. Would have been five stars if had it not been for this incident. Many insurances don't cover lenses so it's important to give the correct price to someone who is paying for it themselves. read more
