5/31 Being invited to Metro Private Cinema was a mind-blowing experience and it is a game changer for dining and movie goers but first, the founder of Metro Private Cinema is the same founder of the Alamo Draft house in Yonkers. The vision from Alamo manifested into something even more spectacular. BEHOLD- METRO PRIVATE CINEMA Entering Metro Private Cinema, the employees greet you with great enthusiasm and welcome you in. Escorting or directing you to one of many resting areas near the glorious bar, until your cinema is ready. As you view the establishments interior, you're recognizing the original movie posters throughout the entire private cinema on every wall in sight. Yes, even in the spotless and tidy restroom that are located upstairs when you enter, and also down stair, passing through a plethora of private cinemas. I want to talk about the experience. You walk into your room of choice from a setting of 4 to 20 people. The room designated for 4 people can be utilized for 2 people. Moving forward, we had a dining experience set up for 4 guests. We are served a 13-course meal with music and libation, or water. I NEED YOU TO APPRECIATE WHAT IS HAPPENING. Tranquille sounds of old are playing on Vinyl's. We don't need all that new stuff just enjoy the music provided. You're getting nostalgic sentiments. You are seated at the table, and a spread is set before you, along with Negroni shots and an introduction from your personal waitress(er). Our waitress was Elzyata. She provided exemplary customer service and satisfaction. See the picture of menu, not listing in review to curtail details. Gnocchi are not listed. After the meal, desert was giving to each guest and placed on the theater seat that is behind the dinner table. I am impressed right now because I am looking at the red wall. I am pausing to give a description. Have you ever been to a movie cinema or seen it on TV. In my youth, I remember going to the cinema and just when the movie was about to start, they open the curtains. Well, that red wall is a curtain and our waitress, (standing ovation) raised the curtain as the movie started. BLANK STARE! OMG, I am now amazed! We are enjoying the movie now, I am stuffed and I think about popcorn. BAMB popcorn is presented. The timing of the entire ordeal was in sync, flawless, and perfect! I appreciated the night out and the new experience that offered intimacy, relaxation, privacy, bonding, a safe zone, and most of all a memory that I will cherish. The price value is set for the amazing experience, and it is within my budget because there is no price on living and having a fantastic evening amongst friends. We recently went to Metro Private Cinemas and overall the experience and food were good as expected. However, there was a problem with execution due to the fact that they changed their menu to a new seasonal spring menu. This was not a large issue during service as it resulted in a little stumbling and confusion over which dishes were what as well as an extra gnocchi dish that was accidentally added on (free or charge). The biggest issue came afterwards when we received our bill and I noticed we were charged $125 dollars for the Yamazaki whiskey. The menu CLEARLY stated that the whiskey was $36 dollars and when I went to speak to their manager, she told me that it was a mistake in changing the menus and it should have stated the full price of $125. When I asked her to refund us for the difference in the price that it stated on the menu, she just told me that the Yamazaki whiskey costs $125 and refused to honor the price we saw in the menu. Edit: After speaking with Quinn (Director of Ops), he was able to clarify the confusion and rectify the situation. We were able to get a refund and he was very professional and apologetic. What a cool experience! You start at the bar then you're taken to your private suite. A dinner table is set up in front of a row of movie theater seats. You get your own waiter. My group was treated with welcome Negroni shots! Dinner was served family style and I can say everything was tasty. They accommodate for dietary restrictions as well. Since you get the room to yourself, you can choose a vinyl to listen to (they need more black artist!). You also get the option for unlimited drinks! Once the movie starts you get dessert followed by individual popcorn! It's perfect for groups but I can see the appeal for date night as it is rather intimate. It can be really pricey! Celebrated my birthday here and booked room for 8, although my group size also came down to 6. I paid an advance deposit for the room which was added to the final bill at the end. There was a spending limit to be in the room, which my party was able to make as we had cocktails, drinks, and shots. The plan was to have dinner first then watch the movie. Dinner menu was variety of appetizers, main course, and a dessert/treat. The menu I really wanted was not available (sad) so we only had popcorn and drinks. Popcorn is included for no additional cost. Service was total different story. When I arrived I had to provide names of everyone coming although some of my guests RSVP ahead of time (annoying). The welcome host irritated me by asking but that wasn't a major issue to me nor was he rude about it. Then in the room, my server (Jen I believe her name was, sorry!) was so sweet, great service, and kind. She really was wonderful and attentive. There was male room host who came into the room a little crazy in my opinion. I immediately addressed my distaste for the manner in which he was conducting hisself to me & my guest as well as the server. So uncomfortable. He decided to excuse his self from working in my room (best decision he made). The manager and server were really great at ensuring my concerns were addressed and gave complimentary items to make up. Seats were comfortable and able to extend out. Bar was in room and there also was CD player. I would give this place a try again but overall it was a good night. read more

This is the coolest new experience in NYC! It's your own private screening room for dinner & a movie. They have so many movies to choose from including those that are currently in theatres. You start the evening in their lounge where you get to choose records to play during dinner. Then you head down to your private theatre that already has the first course set for dinner. Each dinner is specially curated for you based on your preferences and the film. There's also wine and speciality cocktails. We ended with dessert and coffee then jumped into our plush, reclinable seats. They even gave us cozy blankets. After the film started they surprised us with some popcorn. I'm giving it a 5 because of the phenomenal staff there and also for some of the food I did enjoy. They all did such an amazing job especially the young lady that singed happy Birthday to my husband she was amazing. The place itself is beautiful from when you walk in the establishment and go to your private theater. When we arrived we checked in and they took us to our theater. It was beautiful we loved it. I want to thank the staff as well because we showed up a little bit after our time and they handled it very nice thank ya'll for that. Once we got in the room we went inside and Omg so nicely done. Later they brought the cheese platter can't lie it was my favorite item from the whole evening. Beautiful done chef. We got the wicked menu it was a beautiful menu and came with lots of food. For me it was some hits and misses. I loved the cheese board like I said. The crispy Sunchokes I had were amazing. The salad was great. To be honest I didn't like the beet salad at all it wasn't for me. The lamb chops were bland no flavor and had lots of fat on them. I have ate a good amount of lamb chops before and these weren't at the top for me. I didn't like the risotto at all. It wasn't to our liking for us. Having ate risotto before I can say I have had way better to be honest. My partner did love the shrimps they were delicious he said. He loved his desserts. I ate mines but it was ok. We got unlimited drinks for 50 per person that was very nice. The movie theater was 100 per person and 100 per person for food all together the bill was 600 dollars and change including tip. What I will say about the menu is that you really do get a lot of food but I think for the end price it should have a little better options to eat for the price we paid. I also did love that they did pay attention to my allergies, I really appreciate it very much. I'm glad I did this experience it was very nice and might try do it again in the future with the kids but I do hope they change the menu a little bit. Beautiful theater. Great movie choices. Lovely service and overall FUN! Grand your favorite people and book a room. Ours was for 8 people and we chose the regular food menu. It's come with a lot of food. We didn't drink package as well. Definitely it cheap but for the fun you have it was worth every cent. I'd go again. Great to celebrate a birthday in a unique was. If I can make any change to what happens there I'd say to add a menu that has more American food available like wings fries and sliders both vegetarian and beef. Maybe coconut shrimp or crab cakes. All of our guest were over 35 but I'm thinking more for those who are younger who won't appreciate the menu we had. read more

Hosted my Birthday party at Metro Private Cinema, this past Saturday. Everything about the experience was first class. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive. The bountiful family-style seasonal menu was delicious, creative, and sure to please the most discerning gourmand. The entire venue is a cinephile's delight with numerous, rare international movie posters, and an art installation paying tribute to PTA's MAGNOLIA. Our 8-seat screening room was super comfortable, with reclining, heated seats, and top-notch projection/audio. A turntable, playing Tom Waits greeted us, as we arrived, in the screening room (how did they know?) A wonderful experience that delighted all my guests. We will be back! read more

Everyone I worked with was incredibly helpful and responsive, even to some tricky last-minute requests from my guests. Great venue and amazing experience. The Metro Private Cinema team consists of a well organized, communicate and accommodating staff.

So I want to preface this by saying I'm going to omit a few details out of courtesy to Metro. Despite my rough experience, I don't want them to get in any sort of licensing trouble. I'm sure my experience and situation are unique but some things are not and definitely need improvement. Essentially I had reached out right before I booked the theater about if I was allowed to show a fan-edit of a feature film. I was told that was fine, I just had to play it from my computer as streaming services weren't allowed. Then a few days before my reservation, someone reached out to ask what I was going to play and again, I said it was a fan-edit of a feature film that I was going to play from my computer. They said that was fine and they'd notate it on my reservation. Showing this film was was the main reason I rented the theater. The night of the reservation we made it about halfway through the film and we were told that we had to turn it off because it was against policy to show it. Prior to starting the film, multiple employees had seen what I was showing because I had to test it. I don't remember the name of the manager that was interfacing with us but she was kind and sympathetic which I appreciated. She let me know it was something she had to call her supervisor about (who wasn't there) and they were the one who said we couldn't do it. And I was unable to talk to them. She was able to comp 50% of the theater reservation fee which I appreciated, but it was still incredibly disappointing to have the movie be half over and not enough time to watch anything else. I get miscommunications happen but what was really disappointing was what happened after. We had brought a Nintendo Switch just in case we had extra time and were told that we could play that. Upon plugging it in, there was a huge input delay between the screen and the input on the controllers. Basically making it unplayable. After we were told we couldn't watch the movie, our host never came back, the manager that took over the shift never came back. The only person that came back was our server (I believe his name was Luis and he was incredibly nice and attentive). We had to go ask the bartender for help with the issue with the game console and projector because we couldn't find anyone else and he couldn't help (which isn't his fault). They advertise on their website being able to use game consoles so I would be incredibly wary of this. Hopefully they've fixed the issue. What resulted was that we couldn't do either of the things we planned on doing. One of which because of an issue with policy and the other because there was no tech support or anyone to help us with troubleshooting with the system. After this happened, I was told by the manager their head of events would contact me. They did not. I emailed someone I had contact with prior to my reservation about the issue but they ghosted me. Since my reservation, they have updated their website to clarify what they can't show (which is consistent with the film I had an issue with). This is not a cheap experience, you have to buy a meal package (which is good food) so if you go with 6 people like I did, you're paying at least $1000 without gratuity or alcohol. For reference we ended up paying about $600 with our refund for not being able to do either thing we planned on. For the price, I really expected better customer service or at the very least, someone to assist with tech issues on hand. read more

AMAZING experience. My wife surprised me for my birthday and we had a 4-person room (Richard Pryor). The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, the atmosphere was upscale, our waiter (Ty) was funny, friendly, and super attentive. Just a great, great time. Can't recommend enough for movie fans (or anyone, really)! read more
