I've passed by Metro Taco many times and honestly skipped it because of the building--not anything bad, it just didn't give me that Mexican restaurant vibe. I finally went with my brother, and I'm glad I did because it's now one of my favorite spots. My go-to is the carne asada & shrimp burrito--it's amazing. Full of flavor and definitely worth trying. I've been back more than once because of it. That said, a couple of honest notes: The tacos are good, but $4 per taco feels a bit steep. If you're spending over $25, chips really should be free. Our second visit order (total: $115.90): 2 carne asada & shrimp burritos 1 super asada burrito 8 tacos (4 asada / 4 al pastor) 2 flavored waters 1 soda 3 orders of chips (which, again, should be free) Overall, great food and flavors--especially the burritos--but pricing could be adjusted a bit. BF took me to this spot since it's near his house and it was good. I was bit turned off with the rating but to my surprise it's not what people say it is. Service was ok. There's ample seating and parking spaces. Now on to the food. The carne asada taco was a bit dry. And there's an up charge to get carne asada. It's already pricey to begin with at 4 bucks per taco. The pastor was great and flavorful. The shrimp taco was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Would definitely get it again. Very tasty and reasonable prices. Quick and I like that there is outdoor seating and indoor. Vegetarian friendly.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place! We aren't local so this just seemed like somewhere to grab a quick bite to eat with mediocre food. It's in the same plaza as Target with a few other restaurants around so there's lots of parking spaces. They're open until 10PM. It's brightly lit inside with lots of seating. Clean bathroom. They had a few ads up for their new item, the Mango Shrimp Ceviche. The portion was a lot bigger than I expected and they put a lot of shrimp. It was good and refreshing, and came with a large portion of chips. The steak fries were also surprisingly good. Very saucey (which I like). My wife wanted lunch and was craving a burrito. I was on my way home from doing property visits for work so I told her "order from somewhere online or on the phone" and I would pick it up on my way home. She asked what I would like and I said don't worry about me. I'll order in store because I like to see the menu before I order from somewhere i've never eaten before. So I walk in to Metro and I get a smile and a hello. Nice! Right... well I have medical reasons why I order very small and I have to be very particular, medically I have to order this way. So everything looks really massive and anything small looks deep fried. Well while I'm looking over the menu, it takes me some time (like 2-3 mins) to figure out what I can and cannot eat. Meanwhile, I'm getting side eye and impatient sighs, and then I hear "well just let me know when you're ready!" in a condescending tone as she stomps away. I leave it alone, because I know it can be irritating. It takes me forever to order, I have to be what seems to others "very picky". I deal with this attitude a lot when I go out to eat. So I order a kids taco meal, still very large for me but six bucks no big deal. I'm done ordering I pay and then I say "oh I'm also picking up a takeout order that My Wife placed" and I gave them my name. The foot-stomping girl says "well show me proof it's yours" so I pull out my DoorDash app because they don't allow ordering takeout unless you do it through DoorDash, and I show her. And then out of the blue from the line cook side I hear another woman say in Spanish why the hell did I order off of the kids menu if I'm not a kid, but not talking to me talking to the other girl. She shrugs her shoulder, rolls her eyes and walks away. I don't speak fluent Spanish, but I worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years and I speak and understand what I call kitchen Spanish. And also your basics that I grew up at home, with so I knew exactly what she said. Assume I know how to speak it fluently. Don't get me wrong My Wife loved her burrito. My taco was great. Rice was good but I can't eat it so that went to My Wife too, but the refried beans were fresh made, but were super salty. That ma have been a one off situation. As far as the food that was my only complaint. The kids taco dish was one taco a side of refried beans and rice, still fairly large. But I am more about the experience. Because when you experience good service with good food, it leaves a GOOD lasting impression. Needless to say. I won't be coming back, unnecessarily rude. It seems to be a franchise Mexican quick service restaurant as I've seen a handful in our surrounding area. But with attitude and service like that, I'd rather go to Taco Bell. read more

Family member recommended this spot for the flautas so we went to try it out. It's in the busy shopping center by target but there's plenty of parking. Ordered our flautas and had a seat - quick to order and enough clean spots to sit at. I was pleased that the portion was big and filling. They definitely fill up the flautas generously with shredded chicken, topped with lettuce, crema, guacamole, and beans and rice on the side. They were crispy too- no soggy flautas! Stopped in on Friday evening after shopping. The service was fine but there was only one cashier and he was running the phone, register, drinks, & packing orders. Poor thing looked stressed. There's usually 2 people whenever I go so idk. What we ordered: Torta suprema with steak and a side of fries- 10/10 I've tried all their tortas and they're really amazing. They pack these things real chunky and they use toasted telera bread. Flautas de pollo with side of frijoles and rice - 10/10 my teens favorite dish from here. 4 deep fried taquitos with a great amount of guac/sour cream/lettuce. Side order of fries- 10/10 because any restaurant that has fries for my picky eater is A+ in my book. Agua de horchata- 8/10 little to grainy at the bottom but taste was perfect. Salsas & chiles - very great taste The restaurant itself wasn't packed inside, it seems there was just a lot of people picking up, so we had plenty of options for seating. The restroom was kept up and clean. One thing that is a little much is that every meal is served in to-go containers. I guess it's fine so you don't have to wait on the side for them but idk, seems very wasteful. They are recycling friendly so that's a plus that I know things are being separated. read more

The Hesperian/Skywest location is the latest for Metro Taquero with 2 others located within 3 miles of each other... first time having their food so ordered the fried fish tacos and the supreme carne asada burrito. Metro Taquero uses basa fish in their tacos (option of fried or grilled) which is slightly milder (imo) in flavor than catfish and tilapia which I am not a fan of...with cabbage, chopped tomatoes, sliced avocado, sour cream and salsa it was yummy with a nice texture and flavors melding together. Carne asada burrito was delicious...the meat was nicely seasoned with a char with the option of beans (refried, pinto, black beans), guacamole and sour cream...the guacamole had a distinct lemon and tartness which was 'ok' but a bit too much for me..just a preference. Would definitely order again but will opt for sour cream and guacamole on the side next time. Esmeralda helped me and made for a friendly, welcoming first visit! As I was looking at the sauces she mentioned they had 2 mild sauces and a spicy one...she hooked me up with the spicy! Yay Located in the Target and Island Pacific shopping center on Hesperian. The quality of the meat they use is very low. You will find cartilage, fat chewy pieces which are over cooked to say the least. This place used to be really good. It's a bummer that it has gone down hill. I won't be back :( read more

Came here for an early dinner one day and my boyfriend and I ordered the carne asada tacos and beer battered fish tacos. Venue was convenient since it was at the plaza, so of course it came right after a trip to Target. Service was ok, workers took a while despite it being us and one other person at the time. Carne asada taco was mid, but the beer battered fish was solid - it was crisp and had flavor. Solid tacos & burritos but a little bit on the pricier side. I'm a regular at Metro Taquero. Maybe because of the convenience because it's so close to home. Maybe because the food is pretty good. Probably both. Their traditional tacos are $2 on Tuesdays. All pretty good but the grilled chicken is my fav. The shrimp was surprisingly also $2, but I didn't love it. I wasn't a fan of the tomatos and cream on top. The burritos are so filling too. They're not spectacular or the best burrito I've had or anything, but they get the job done. I do love that they have breakfast burritos for $10. I've had the bacon one and really enjoyed it. I've always ordered to go and have never had to wait long. Usually I'll be in, order, and out in 15 minutes. I'll eventually work my way through the menu but I appreciate that they're in this plaza now! read more

Whoops. I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures of the food. I ordered a Regular Burrito and a Carnitas Fries. Both were pretty good tasting. The fries were still a little crunchy even after the ride home. The guacamole is fresh with a zing from the lime. Keep in mind that was an extra $2.25 for guacamole. We chose to skip the sour cream in the fries. The carnitas was flavorful. As for the burrito, I chose al pastor for the meat. It was good, but it needed some pico de Gallo, which comes with the normal burrito but not the regular??? I decided to cancel the order because the kitchen staff were nearly completely done cleaning the kitchen and did not start my food. I requested cash instead of debit, the cashier says not possible. I ask her to call her manager to verify because this is completely their fault. Cashier rolls her eyes and walks away with an attitude to call the manager. She does not tell the manager the entire story, she conveniently leaves out where I wait for 20 mins, they lost my order and were nearly done cleaning kitchen. To be EXPLICITLY clear.
