Was looking for a taco spot after an event in San Jose. I could've stayed in San Jose but the rain was super heavy and I wanted to go somewhere closer to home. Not a lot of taco spots are open late at 10p but I saw that PNT was open. My family and I pulled into the driveway and were confused because it looked and sounded like a bar. There were a few people standing outside and I asked if this was a bar or restaurant and the gentleman said it's a restaurant. We walk in and got some stares because it was late and we had kids. Didn't matter to us. Everything on the menu sounded delish and they had al day breakfast items. We ended up going with the following: 1. Chicken sandwich- 10/10 my teen loved this. It was a crispy thinly sliced chicken breast with all the fixings, and pressed to perfection. 2. Chicken Caesar salad - 10/10 the lettuce was Romain, tossed in Caesar dressing and parm, with grilled chicken filet. 3. 4 tacos de asada - 10/10 yummy chopped steak, seasoned and grilled to perfection. I'm not sure if the evening chef cooks better or maybe we were starving, but the food was great! Ambience at the time was pretty loud but I figure it's because people hanging out in the bar area. I got these food items: Asada tacos- 1/2 of the taco meat was just big oily chunks of fat, I spat it out immediately. Rest of it was tolerable to chew. Tortilla was dry and oily. Al Pastor tacos- bland meat with a lingering dry pepper aftertaste that makes the meat taste old. Took one bite and was immediately repulsed. Chips and dip (guac and salsa)- chips are oily and hard to chew. Guac was bland, no garlic or cut tomato. Salsa was a viscous sludge in a small tub, had the same pepper taste as the Al Pastor. Horchata drink- too much cinnamon and saw multiple lidded to go cups of this already made in the fridge behind the register, no expiration dates on them. ALSO PLEASE UPDATE THE PRICES ON YOUR MENU, I was charged $11.95 for the chips and dip but the menu says "house chips and guac $9.50" ... how is salsa $2.45? Only positive thing I would mention is that the free tiny salsa, slice of lime, sliced radish, and pickled jalapeño and carrot was nice of them. The food was so good I had to walk it off for two miles haha. I ordered for takeout - a carne asada super burrito and a horchata. Starting with the horchata, it was creamy, nutty from the toasty rice, and rich in cinnamon. Surprisingly more of a refreshing drink than a sugary sweet one. I was never really a fan of horchata (I've always preferred agua frescas) but this one may have converted me. Per the burrito, it was huge! The filling was well balanced with meat, beans, cheese etc., which made every bite have an even distribution of ingredients. I also never had a toasted tortilla on a burrito (maybe this was my first time noticing it), but it provided another level of slightly crunchy texture to what is already a heavily soft and pillowy texture. Came here on a Friday night and loved the atmosphere. Porque No? is a part of Frank's Bar. You can sit in either section and grab a bite to eat, but for this particular night we decided to sit in the taqueria section. You go up to the counter and order, then find a seat. The servers were very friendly and had a welcoming and inviting demeanor. Everything we ate was delicious and just the right mix of flavors. My friend invited me out for tacos and so I wasn't aware that this place was in a sports bar. I'm not mad about it. It made for quite a fun ambience and a really mixed crowd. Some came for a beer and sports some came for tacos and some came for both. We came for tacos and we got super tacos. They were really tasty. Well prepared with very fresh ingredients. All the proteins were perfectly cooked with really delicious seasoning. I think my favorite was the shrimp taco just because of how they seasoned and cooked it and because the shrimp were so fresh. It was nice that they played it with radishes as well as limes, and I also appreciated the way that they wrapped them up to keep it a little bit less messy. Finally tried this place out after see all the reviews on how good this place is, so I had to try it. Came here with a few high school friends as we do once a year to catch up. This is on Marina Blvd right next to the train tracks, you might feel a rubble or 2 when the train fly's by. They have a parking for about 30 cars in the back. Once you walked inside the restaurant is very clean and modern. They also share space with Frank's Sports Bar. There is no wait staff, you order at the counter and pay, they give you a # and bring the food when its ready. The gentleman we ordered the food from was very nice. We had ordered, Fried Zucchini, Fried Mozzarella Sticks, Chicken Strips w/ Fries, PQN? Nachos, Steak & Chicken Quesadilla. Every blend and had NO flavor what so ever. The nacho cheese probably was water down. The steak was sitting in a warm too long, it's more like a pot roast texture then steak. I happened to be in the area again and my boss offered to treat me to lunch, so I figured I'd give it another shot. I ordered the chilaquiles again since that's what they're known for and this time they were actually really good. Probably the best I've had in the Bay Area. Not quite on the level of what I've had in Mexico, but still super solid. You order up at the counter here, then they give you a little sign to take to your table and they'll bring the food out when it's ready. There's a water station you can use to grab your own water and they also have free Wi-Fi. The password is posted by the register which is a nice touch. Service this time was a lot quicker and the food came out without any issues. I also tried the lemon pepper wings and they were pretty tasty. Kind of like Wingstop style with no batter, just fried and seasoned well. They have their own parking lot which is convenient but it's pretty small. If it's busy you'll probably have better luck parking along the side street near the train tracks. Glad I gave this spot another chance. If we're basing this off of tacos and just their chips, this is definitely a 5 stars. I have visited this place a handful of times and the super tacos are out of this world. What's also neat about this location is that it is right next to train tracks and you will see a train pass by every 30-40min. Porque so expensive? I like Porque No? Tacos, specifically for their super tacos (shrimp and al pastor are great), but it's really expensive. The first time I got takeout, I did not get complimentary chips and salsa, but I did the second time, so I'm not sure of their policy on that. Their super burrito is super expensive - basically a twenty after tax - but isn't worth it despite the extra griddled cheese, as I've had bigger and tastier, and it was kind of lukewarm. Just getting two super tacos is more worth it. The super tacos are fried hard shells loaded with the works - sour cream, guacamole, cheese, pico de gallo, fried cheese, and lots of meat. For being in the back of a sports bar, you wouldn't expect these exorbitant prices. The ingredients taste great and all, and the salsas are spicy and smooth, but I'd still rather go to my local cheaper taqueria. The setup feels like a serve-yourself kind of spot, so I appreciated that the waitress brought out the food and asked if we needed condiments or napkins--nice touch. We ordered the super nachos with grilled chicken and a super quesadilla with steak and shrimp. The nachos were fine--not bad, just kind of basic, like something I could've thrown together at home. The quesadilla was okay too. The shrimp were bigger than expected, but they were a bit too salty for my taste. Yesterday we had the breakfast panini, the carne asada Super Taco, an order of Chicharrones, a fresh housemade horchata and a Michilada.... Taste buds blown! The pico for the chicharrones comes with a a side of Tapatio and a aide of a mixed-combo of their pico de gallo and their house salsa, I don't know why I have never thought of this; but I will be going back and getting these every time or even as a craving snack. Side note on the super taco, if you like your cheese shredded then make sure you ask for it that way. It comes with a melted shell of cheese. Alright, so I'm a lil' snobby when it comes to my breakfast burritos. And I have every right to be, if I do say so myself. I hadn't heard of the spot during our BB travels, it didn't sound especially truck-y, and when he said they used hashbrowns instead of breakfast potatoes, I had my opinions, okay? But when I saw that Porque No? was (convenientl enough for those late-night patrons, I'm sure) attached to a lil' bar by the name of Frank's, my interest was instantly piqued. I trust a business that much more when it's attached to a hole-in-the-wall-but-still-pleasantly-reputable situation, which Porque? seemed to be. My brother got me to test the waters in the way he usually does: offering to pay. He and my precious nephew split a bulking bacon breakfast burrito, and I got a veggie version. I'll be honest, it was mostly egg. I was also put off by the mixture of cheddar and jack cheeses... They just weren't harmonizing for me. But I did take a special liking to their salsa verde, and I do feel like they have good flavor -- nothing was especially off, I was just wondering where my papas were at. I came by with a group of 5 friends and everyone ordered tacos and a burrito. The street tacos are $4 each but not good. I got the pastor, pollo, asada and prawn tacos. Everything but the prawns were dry and not flavorful. No salsa is given so they might have been helped with some or a lot of added salsa. The order took about 20 minutes to come out at around 5:50 pm. I looked around and it wasn't overly busy. I came after my friends ordered and I still got my order faster than another. The Al Pastor tacos here are to die for. Food always comes out piping hot. The restaurant is attached to a sports bar with adequate seating. There will be a waitress who brings you out food, and occasionally they would also bus it for you, but for the most part you bus it yourself. The only hard part about eating here is the parking. They have a small parking lot in the back of the bar and space is limited. Overflow parking usually goes into the neighborhood or across the street near the railroad tracks. We ordered the following to go: - Super tacos: pretty tasty, reminiscent of street tacos and honestly these were pretty big too. - Shrimp burrito: solid stuff; filling was quality and clean. I asked for no rice in my order but they forgot, so I ended up with a lot of carbs in it. I just removed it on my own when I got to eating it. Decent spot with some good food. We definitely thing the food is quality but a lot more expensive than other places with just as good quality or better. My friend found this place on yelp. We were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the grilled chicken super tacos, guacamole/salsa and chips and the fruit punch jarritos. The tacos were amaaaazing. We liked that the tortilla was slightly fried, and it held together perfectly. The salsa and guacamole were fantastic. Very authentic and flavorful. You enter from the a single door from the parking lot and found the nice big spacious seating area. Ordered my food for pick up thru the DoorDash app since the site ordering wasn't working.. I ordered a El Pastor super burrito. VERY GOOD, nice touch of fried cheese into the tortilla. Very good ingredients, its a balanced burrito, you taste a little of everything, very good pico de gallo that ties it all together. I will be back to try more items soon. Decent Mexican restaurant in an unassuming bar, with ample seating that popped up in my Yelp search for breakfast burritos. I ordered my friends their chilaquiles and breakfast burritos, which they said were solid. My veggie burrito would've been great had it not had a ton of random pieces of wilted lettuce, so I had to spend half my meal picking those pieces out (the burrito lists the ingredients, and lettuce isn't one of them). If they took my name and order so I didn't have to repeat it upon pickup, and my food was ready at the stated pick up time, I would've given this place 4 stars for the food. I took my number, then headed to the bar for a drink. The friendly bartender assured me I would love the food because in her words "it's hella good!" she suggested a drink that tasted like a watermelon Jolly Rancher, rimmed with Tajin. I can't remember the name, but it did indeed taste as described, and not too sweet. The dip arrived first and I couldn't stop eating it, even after the tacos were placed in front of me. Those creamy, flavorful beans topped with Cotija cheese and pickled jalapeño peppers and carrots were absolutely addicting. The fresh, warm chips and dip combo would have been enough for me, but I moved on to the tacos. They were deliciously sloppy and full of flavor. I went here with my coworkers during our lunch break, it was our first time. It was a bit difficult to find, more of a hole in the wall spot. It is attached to another restaurant and once entering it's in the corner. You order at the front with a cashier and they give you a number to have on the table. I got the carnitas and steak super taco. The taco shell is corn and it is fried, they give a good amount of meat and aren't skimpy with the toppings. The cashier also gave us free chips and salsa for our first time dining experience! There is also a bar attached. Loved the tacos, even though I only got two I was stuffed. Went here on a friend's recommendation. Ordered a Al Pastor Super Burrito and a Horchata to go. Complimentary chips and salsa added to the take out order. We sat and watched large dishes coming out of the kitchen - really anticipating a tasty and big burrito. Brought our take-out order after salivating at the dishes and looked and wondered.. are we at Chipotle? The Super Burrito did not look too Super as in size. Took it home, cut through the fried tortilla skin (they crisp up the skin versus steam pressed like other places), not much meat,... disappointed for the price at $15+. I guess we'll go to an International Blvd truck if we want take-out. The portions on-site looked larger....will try dining in next time to see if there's a difference. The Al Pastor meat was lacking in volume, not evenly distributed, so we really couldn't taste the meat as much as the other fillers. Three stars for the take-out Al Pastor Super Burrito. Overall, good! If I lived in the area, I would probably crave this once every couple months. As mentioned in other reviews, this place is inside a bar but has a separate dining area. It does get super loud so it can be hard to have a conversation. It's also dimly lit and definitely has bar vibes so I wouldn't recommend this as a date night or anything like that. The food at first glance looks pretty expensive. $16-17 for a burrito is pricey! However the burritos are really quite large and packed full of fillings. I did find the burrito to be a bit too wet/soggy inside, but scooping the filling with the chips was tasty. Burritos also come with a side of chips, so you will definitely be full. I can usually finish a burrito but I was seriously tapped out after half. The nachos were also really tasty and a good portion, as someone who loves cheese sauce lol. They were very accommodating with adjustments to the ingredients as well as I had friends who didn't want beans, cilantro, etc. They also give you free chips with salsa for the table, but the salsa tastes suspiciously like pasta sauce...however it was not bad and I'm definitely not complaining. Service was slow overall. We waited probably 25 minutes for any food to come to our table. Additionally we kept getting asked if we wanted to buy flowers from random people, probably 4-5 times. I did hear about them through Yelp but it struck me that it was inside Frank's Bar. The last time I was at this bar was decades ago having lunch with my MIL! I was in for a surprise. It's located next to the train tracks. Marina Blvd. is a busy street but parking is in the back. The inside has been remodeled since I was there a long time ago. There's a restaurant and bar area, with lots of screens playing whatever game is on. There's karaoke on Wednesday nights. We ordered at the counter. There are digital menu boards. Breakfast is served until 2pm. There's tacos/burritos - breakfast and bar food. We went with chilaquiles and I had the tacos. We were impressed with the good. I enjoyed my grilled steak and the grilled chicken was just as good. My husband had the carnitas and it was the right balance with the sauce. Definitely a return trip in the future. read more
