    Vegetarian burrito
    Molly L.

We came here on a weekend afternoon and ordered a vegetarian burrito a steak enchiladas with red sauce. There were complimentary tortilla chips and salsa but the salsa was more on the spicy side. I ordered the vegetarian burrito with the extra grilled onions and bell peppers, which was an extra $2. However those vegetables weren't as grilled and cooked as I would have hoped. The burrito itself was fine but it could have used more flavor. It was mainly rice and beans. The enchiladas were also standard, with a lot of cheese. The servers were kind and helpful and the ambience was that of a diner with many booths inside. The food came out fairly quickly. Overall we would come back but would probably try different plates.

Came back to my go to spot! JUST beat the rush! Place has its nice pics on the wall with the decorative lights throughout the restaurant and the tv's to watch whatever game might be on! It's a great family vibe! Got the pollo ranchero this time and LOVED it! The sauce is EVERYTHING! You can choose ANYTHING and it'll be great! Such a stable and staple in Hayward! Everyone's always so prompt and courteous! I'm going back soon for sure! I might even "See them tomorrow!"

Everything is amazing, nothing is by chance. This is a purpose driven business that makes some of the best Mexican food in the Bay Area. Since 1976 they have been consistent with quality and flavor. Pay the family a visit, you will thank me later. This is one of my all time favorites! Enjoy!

This has been one of my favorite go to restaurants since 1991. Started coming here with my family on the regular basis and I have never stopped. It's family owned and operated and everybody is super friendly. The restaurant has been remodeled in the last few years and it's really clean and the layout is very welcoming. The food is exceptional. They have the best tacos period. The chili Colorado is fantastic and if you're looking for a burrito, they have chili Colorado burritos that are game changing. The super burritos are massive. I've never had a bad experience when it comes to the food or the service. I can't say enough good things about them. They've earned their catch Phrase "the best tacos in town"

The food is still as delicious as I remember. Got the nachos because it's my favorite from out of every place I ever had em. Also got a steak taco for dinner. Food comes out quick and it's always freshly cooked. This place hasn't lost its charm.

I came here with some family and we were sat down right away with chips brought out to our table. Seating is all indoors and you can see into the kitchen which gives it a casual vibe. I got one taco de cabeza because they are really big tacos. The cabeza was very flavorful and juicy. My partner got the wet burrito which was good as well. Unfortunately everyone got their food before me and my food was brought out already when everyone else finished eating because they forgot to make mine. It was a bit upsetting having to watch everyone else eat while I was hungry. I also wish they had smaller sizes available for their aguas frescas as they only offer one size. But overall the food is good and the service just okay.

Enchilada dinner- asada with red sauce . Meat flavorful . Rice and beans tasty as well . Perfect

Great Mexican restaurant newly remodel . Small parking lot but street parking as well. Service fast and friendly. Large portions, tasty and filling . Cooking area open to seating area so you can see food being made which is great . No surprises.

Chicken enchilada with verde sauce. I do not like beans so they substituted all rice.

Went there for a Friday lunch. Got there just after opening and was immediately seated and given chips/salsa. The food arrived quickly and we ate quickly! My friend got the 2 taco plate with steak, and I got a carnitas taco and chicken enchilada with verde sauce. Both were delicious with a BIG favorite being the flavor of the carnitas! Amazing! The waitstaff was fantastic and we asked if they minded if we hung out for a while since I had not seen my friend in a long time. They were very nice and we stayed and talked for another hour (there was no wait for tables, so we didn't feel too guilty). Overall, great place for families or friends to gather and have a good meal.

Carne asada taco with grilled onions is the way to go. Their tacos are Huge & Super good.

Our go to spot for tacos. There super good and huge. The service is always fast and friendly. If your looking for a good taco spot come here. They have a great menu as well. If you get tacos get grilled onions on the side. Fire!

Best beef tacos in the Bay Area. Aside from my mother-in-laws house, this is the only place I will ever go for Mexican food.

Ask the Community - El Taquito Restaurant

    Do they have delivery service?

I do not believe so. I'm not sure if Doordash or Uber eats delivers from this restaurant. To drive over there and sit down and get 2 #18's is so worth it!

    Do they have tacos Tuesday?

    We unfortunately do not

Are the rice & beans vegan?

Are they back open from the remodel?

    Yes we are :)

Do they have live music on Saturday?

It's a quaint little restaurant, no live music, however they a television. Great food!

    Do they have beer?

    Yes .

We went in circles... the turns are short. ***does not allow outside food or drink inside (unless it's for health reasons)*** FOOD: Ordered 5 tacos at $3.95 per taco, no matter what the meat is. Lots of meat. Lots of onions and cilantro. Lots of lime slices provided. Radishes provided...wished there was more. Surprised there wasn't any jalapeños provided. Not a lot of taco spots are open late at 10p but I saw that PNT was open. My family and I pulled into the driveway and were confused because it looked and sounded like a bar. There were a few people standing outside and I asked if this was a bar or restaurant and the gentleman said it's a restaurant. We walk in and got some stares because it was late and we had kids. Didn't matter to us. Everything on the menu sounded delish and they had al day breakfast items. We ended up going with the following: 1. Chicken sandwich- 10/10 my teen loved this. It was a crispy thinly sliced chicken breast with all the fixings, and pressed to perfection. 2. Chicken Caesar salad - 10/10 the lettuce was Romain, tossed in Caesar dressing and parm, with grilled chicken filet. 3. 4 tacos de asada - 10/10 yummy chopped steak, seasoned and grilled to perfection. I'm not sure if the evening chef cooks better or maybe we were starving, but the food was great! Ambience at the time was pretty loud but I figure it's because people hanging out in the bar area. Definitely will be back.

‼Absolutely horrible tasting food that is ridiculously over priced oh my god. NOT WORTH MY $44 !…read more I got these food items: Asada tacos- 1/2 of the taco meat was just big oily chunks of fat, I spat it out immediately. Rest of it was tolerable to chew. Tortilla was dry and oily. Al Pastor tacos- bland meat with a lingering dry pepper aftertaste that makes the meat taste old. Took one bite and was immediately repulsed. Chips and dip (guac and salsa)- chips are oily and hard to chew. Guac was bland, no garlic or cut tomato. Salsa was a viscous sludge in a small tub, had the same pepper taste as the Al Pastor. Horchata drink- too much cinnamon and saw multiple lidded to go cups of this already made in the fridge behind the register, no expiration dates on them. ALSO PLEASE UPDATE THE PRICES ON YOUR MENU, I was charged $11.95 for the chips and dip but the menu says "house chips and guac $9.50" ... how is salsa $2.45? Only positive thing I would mention is that the free tiny salsa, slice of lime, sliced radish, and pickled jalapeño and carrot was nice of them. Wish the pickled veggies didn't drip vinegar all over the bag (it was wrapped in tin foil). Never been here before and never coming back again.
