Passed by this place and saw the hugeeee line that wrapped around the whole parking lot and go so curious. I knew I needed to try it out and see what the hype was. Came around 7pm, ordered pretty fast, food itself took maybe 45 mins, but I mean they had a LINE of people there. AND everything is sooo fresh. They cook and prepare everything in front of you. From the meat, to the smoked peppers, etc. You can also get your own cilantro, pineapple salsa, hot sauce, onions, etc at the little condiment bar. I got the Taco Yaqui , my cousin got the Chorreanda. the Taco Yaqui was FIREEEEE. Every single bite was so yummy and juicy and flavorful~ You gotta try it at least once. I was excited to try Mamá Cuca's because I drive by it daily and the food menu is intriguing. Unfortunately I found there to be too many inconveniences to my experience. The food was too smokey to the point that all you taste is burt coal. I'm not sure if it was just a one-time experience or if that's what they are going for in regards to flavor. The set up is to order then depending on what you order there are two areas to pick up food. This was a bit confusing as the cashier did not explain and we waited on one side only. The food was not all delivered together so by the time we had all the order the first items were cold. Yes, they are located in a parking lot so parking is available, but it is a tight squeeze since they are busy and folks are exiting and entering constantly. They also have a tent for covered seating but due to the grill being just outside of the tent, all the smoke goes in there. The line to order was about a 20 minute wait and we were standing too close to the grill smoke which made it hard to endure. Staff were friendly and when I got to order it seemed they were training a new employee which made sense on the wait time. Hopefully the hiccups get better with wait times and efficiency. Order time 6:55 pm March 1st 2025, after finding a spot to sit, and waiting for what felt like an eternity we got our food at 7:58 pm over an hour waiting, no communication, no apologies for the wait no nothing. The actual food was delicious but customer service was non existent, the lady preparing hotdogs was clearly upset to the point where you could hear her complaining about the patrons waiting for their meals. Parking was difficult due to the slow turnover for the evening, but also the parking area is extremely small. I wish it would have been better. Came here a few days ago with my family. They looked good & priced fairly for a taco truck. I had ordered 2 chorizo tacos and 1 beef tripe taco Yaqui. My wife had ordered chorizo tacos & carne asada taco's. We also brought our baby, in which we thought we would be able to order some beans, chicken, and rice on plate; but they said no. We thought it was odd but fair enough, they can't change their menu, so we got her plain chicken tacos. Once we received our order, we noticed that we were missing my 2 chorizo tacos. I walked up and told them the situation, & the guy looks at me, looking annoyed, and says that the order has already been taken. I reply, yeah, I took it to my table, but I do not have the chorizo tacos. I speak to someone else & tell him the same thing & the other guy looks at me confused, but nonetheless we straighten things out, and they get me my tacos. I had to try my daughter's chicken to make sure it wasn't spicy, and it was good! Good flavor and not too dry (seems like it was chicken breast, I could be wrong). My beef tripe taco Yaqui was good! I removed that taco from existence from my plate. I had no complaints on that. Once I had the chorizo tacos though, I was not able to say the same thing about it. It just wasn't good. The flavor seemed off. I couldn't quite put my finger on why it wasn't good, but it just simply wasn't good. My wife had also said the same thing about hers. Luckily, their portions were pretty big & their tacos were larger too, with their flour tortillas, which also was pretty good. Lastly, when we ordered our drinks, I just wanted a water & we also needed a water for my daughter. They apparently do not sell water. What?? You sell food & drinks, but no water!? Regardless, I made it work, went to the liquor store nearby and got some bottled waters. But after the meal, we see one of the cooks grab a bottled water from a cooler, and drank it (maybe he brought it, maybe he didn't). It just doesn't make sense. read more

Had a nice lunch date with the wife-- showed up right at 1pm and ordered a couple carne asada tacos a piece, made sure to top them with the pineapple salsa. There is definitely a general kick to the tacos, but those picked onions are on another level and NOT recommended if you're not into spicy food (you need to love spicy food). Very long wait -- Drove by this establishment a week ago and saw that there was a huge line. Drove by it today (still a long line) and decided to wait and see whats good. Waited in line at 5:24pm and ordered at 6:39pm then waited for my food until 740pm. Whole process took 2 hrs. Food -- ordered the special burrito w/ carne asada and 2 carne asada taco and 2 al pastor tacos. Make sure you check your order after you pick up they ended up just giving 4 carne asada. They also didn't include any toppings on the taco so you would have to put it on yourself at the salsa bar. The burrito was very heavy and dense and the bacon was crispy. The burrito is not like a traditional burrito, this one did not have rice and they load it with ALOT of melted cheese ( which is a plus). The meat was good, you can taste the bbq char which i loved. The salsa at the salsa bar all made fresh. Overall -- I wouldn't wait 2 hrs but if you drive by and see a short line, I would recommend giving it a try. Just make sure you double check your order and load up at the salsa bar. They also prefer cash but you can ask to pay with mobile pay. read more

We had friendly employees take our order and friendly regular customers chat with us about what is in the SERIOUS spread at the salsa bar! I'd like to start off by saying that I have been a loyal customer for a while now traveling up to an hour to go eat from them. I've been going to then since before they were in Hayward. I had never had a bad experience but what happened this past weekend was just unacceptable! I ordered a marinated pork taco and immediately knew the pork had gone bad by the taste and smell. As soon as I bit into it I spit it out into the plate. My husband then took the plate back with the FULL taco with my bite also on the plate to let them know about the meet and the unprofessional and rude response he received was unbelievable. The lady came out and said that choosing that meat was optional and that no refunds or exchanges would be made. He tried to explain the meat was bad and she kept making the same remark of it being our choice to choose marinated pork! WE DIDNT KNOW WE WERE CHOOSING ROTTEN PORK!!! I will proceed to contact the health department because their lack of accountability will be making people sick. No acknowledgment or apologies were made. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!! It's all in the tortilla! Just look at the picture and you can tell how special this place is. The tortilla has a special texture to it that I can't really explain: a little gumption and chew. Meat is grilled and seasoned well. The salsa bar offerings is the best between salsa, pickled accouterments, and veggies. Awesome food every time we go! They moved locations to 230 Jackson St in Hayward about a month ago, and this one has a really nice fenced area with 4 picnic tables to eat the food. Taco Yaqui and regular tacos are our usual orders, and it's all consistently fantastic! The salsa bar has lots of options that are always fresh, and the aguas frescas are also good. So disappointed with the service my boyfriend and I received here,I was very excited to try this spot bc my cousin had shared a video on his ig story and the food looked so good! The food was not the problem as it was good but the problem was the customer service we received from the owner (it's a women) from what I've heard. So we ordered asada tacos and a chorreada al pastor and when I started to fix my plate with the salsas I noticed they gave us asada instead of al pastor so my boyfriend went to let the women know and the guy who was working there that we got the wrong meat. The women looked so irritated and told my boyfriend "you ordered asada " my boyfriend said yes I did the tacos were asada but the chorreada was al pastor and the receipt was there too and you can see she had wrote down Al pastor so she messed up and the other guy who was helping told her and my boyfriend "yeah you're right she messed up so in this case we will give you another one "and the lady said "well we will need to throw this one to the trash then!!" Exceptionally delicious! Came here for the al pastor, but ended up getting the chorizo and carne asada because they'd run out. Zero disappointments, everything was incredibly tasty.
