This review is for informational purposes only I encourage everyone reading this to file a police report in the jurisdiction where your car is taken. It happened to us at Angels Tacos nearby. Their racket is they have someone likely on the phone just hanging out not eating who is watching for unsuspecting victims who park in the Target parking lot and know the lines are often long for food vendors on the sidewalk. Our vehicle was taken one night we thought it was stolen however were told the next day at the PD that it was taken around 5 am by this place. So they delay the paperwork to make it look like you abandoned your car overnight in a place it was not supposed to be parked vs parked illegally for the sake of some street tacos. Here is what they stole from my car - random auto parts. Ill leave the details to protect my anonymity but my GoodYear tires were swapped for some cheap brand. Filters that had been recently replaced now filthy. If your vehicle is taken also keep note like I did if what they took. Apparently this is a regular thing according to multiple online reviews, here, the BBB website and that local PD. A simple ai internet search easily finds the owners. I used this information to provide to my lawyer and if you have been victimized too then notify your local Police where it happened and review options to take LEGAL action. These people are CROOKS plus they lied to us about when to pick up the car to collect extra days fee. I had an extremely disappointing experience with this towing company. The parking sign clearly stated that customers were allowed to park for up to one hour, yet my vehicle was towed after only about 30 minutes. I have my receipt and other documentation showing I was a customer at the time. Based on my experience, I believe the towing was unfair, and I am currently pursuing legal action regarding this incident. I will update this review with the outcome once the hearing is complete. Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. The guy who was working there was harassing every single person who showed up, he was cursing at everyone and would intentionally avoid helping aggravated customers by not being by the help window and was doing this to hold clients from getting their vehicles. He curse at others and at me and then threatened my girlfriend to use the pepper spray and she was just simply talking to him - not yelling or being abrasive, just talking and he grabbed the pepper spray to scare everyone. A description of the guy who was working (he wouldn't give me his name). He's short, bald and maybe a Hispanic man, with a cross tattoo below his left eye and another tattoo above his right eye. I'm attaching the photo of him holding a bottle of pepper spray. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE AND SCARY EXPERIENCE! I did not feel safe around this guy and he clearly did not care about his own behavior or how much he was harassing and threatening all customers who came. They literally threaten your life if you are a woman and alone. They towed my car with NO signage stating who towed it, no violation code, no info to find my car. I tracked it on my car app. as they were towing it. Then they lied about when they towed it, no time on the paperwork. He said he had my car all day. I saw they damaged the entire front end of my 9 day old car and when I said I wanted to file a complaint and make a claim the man there threatened to lock me inside the facility. He wouldn't let me speak, started yelling over me to leave non-stop, as men gathered and blocked the only exit. So I took photos of him, the facility and my car's damage but then he started to close the gate w me inside, with him and these other men. It was horrifying and I had no choice but to get inside my car. The police are aware of the threat he made but it's not considered a criminal act to threaten a woman (or probably anyone) and "attempt" to trap them. I called the next day and spoke to a Jordan who said he was just an employee and couldn't help. I found out this is a family business run by Ben and Jordan Abergel and Fanny Abergel who has been sued before. Fanny Abergel created his own insurance company which is listed as Metro Towing's insurance but it's not a valid company. They had a United Financial Casuality (Progressive) policy which is no longer valid as of 2022. It doesn't look like Metro Towing Inc has any insurance. I literally wasn't parked at this one gas station in downtown LA for more than 6 minutes at a 10 minute spot to grab some tacos before a tow truck swooped in and they basically GTA'd me. I honestly thought someone was robbing my car cause my brain couldn't comprehend what was going on. After that I was basically stranded and I had to take multiple busses, walk through dark dingy streets and pay an expensive scooter ride just to get this place after more than an hour. I parked for 25 minutes (from 9:25 - 9:50 am) at the Yoshinoya next to MacArthur Park. I didn't want to leave my car on the street because of how unsafe the area is. My insurance had given me an appointment for some lab work at the medical plaza right next door, and when I came back, two men were securing my car to tow it. This has never happened to me before, and I got scared, they started scolding me for parking there. One of them seemed to be the security guard of the parking lot who probably called the tow truck. I asked if there was anything I could do so they wouldn't take the car, and the tow truck driver just told me to leave it unlocked so he wouldn't have to break it open, which i did not understand. I ordered an Uber to go to the towing yard, and we actually got there at the same time as the truck. Still, they charged me a storage fee and a release fee. The man at the register was very rude to me and to the other guy there that had his car towed from his apartment complex. He looked drunk or high or something. We both payed $518 with card. I only have a part time job now and this was my paycheck, I was very frustrated and crying and this guy just keep saying this like: "You shouldn't have parked there if you don't have money. We drove to the lot in question that our car was towed from, took photos and videos of the entire lot -- THERE WAS NO SIGNAGE ANYWHERE. of course, the employee got defensive and refused to look at our proof. Second, they claim that before they tow a car, they go into all the businesses around the lot and ask the customers if their car is the one being towed, then ask the managers to sign off. We called every business around the lot we were towed from and the businesses all said that that never happened. No one from Metro had ever checked in with them. Metro Towing is a scam of a company ! They're unprofessional and should be shut down . I was wrongfully towed at the Ralph's parking lot on 3rd & Vermont while I was a customer . I was charged $275 to drop my car if not I would be charged $600 at the impound lot , cash only and no receipt given , that's extortion . Therefore , I spoke to the manager and I was told that the tow company comes on their own . I did my own investigation and have proof that the tow company has spotters working for them strictly on Friday and Saturday nights watching the parking lot which is against California law and is predator towing . I have proof that the tow company slaps signs while minutes later they proceed to start towing a car and opening it up ransacking through people's belongings . Signs are supposed to be up 24 hours legally before towing any car on the property and should not be unlocked without owners presence . Vehicles are being dragged & damaged as well without drivers being held accountable . Some of their company trucks don't have names as well , so unprofessional and bandit . According to my Tesla app logs and security system, a person affiliated with the towing company unlocked and opened the left rear door of my vehicle without my consent. The vehicle was fully locked and secure prior to the tow. I did not authorize anyone to access the interior of my car, and there was no mechanical or legal reason for the door to be opened. I possess timestamped Tesla app records showing the unauthorized door entry, and video evidence also available through Tesla Sentry Mode. This action constitutes unauthorized entry into a locked vehicle, which can be a violation of: * California Penal Code §10852 - Tampering with or injuring a vehicle * California Vehicle Code §22658(d) - Liability for damages arising from negligent or wrongful conduct by a towing company * Potential trespass and invasion of privacy under civil law I have reported this incident to the Los Angeles Police Department, and an official police report has been filed.
