I paid for an enclosed container so that the car would remain 'spotless' as advertised on their website (https://www.montway.com/enclosed-auto-transport). However, when it arrived the driver acknowledged that my car got dirty because he loaded a dirty wet car above mine. When I submitted a claim Montway politely claimed that the shipping company cannot be held responsible for dirt and debris despite being in an enclosed container. To be clear, my car was in no way damaged and I remedied the situation by taking the vehicle to be hand washed. However, I believe that consumer expectations should be met in particular when those expectations are set as advertised. The cost of me having to arrange for an external wash and detail is a two star deduction.

Extremely Disappointing -- Their "Price Guarantee" Was Worthless…read more I chose Montway based on its positive reviews and advertised price guarantee--not because it was the cheapest option. Unfortunately, Montway failed to provide the service at all. Montway gave me a five-day pickup window. I made it very clear that the fifth day was a hard deadline because my family was flying to Ohio the following morning to move my sons into college. After we left, no one would be available to release the vehicle. I contacted Montway four times during the pickup window and repeatedly emphasized the deadline. Each time I was reassured that they were working on it and the car would be picked up. On the final day, with only about five hours remaining, I specifically asked whether I should make other arrangements. They told me they would expedite it. The car was never picked up. The failure created significant problems. My sons arrived at college without their car, and because the trunk contained bedding, kitchen appliances and other apartment supplies, we had to spend approximately $300 replacing items we already owned. What happened afterward was even more frustrating. When I contacted Montway, a supervisor explained that they had been unable to find a carrier willing to transport the car for the price Montway quoted me. She also said she couldn't provide compensation because the job had already been "underbid." So much for the price guarantee. Apparently, Montway's guarantee means they won't ask you to pay more. If they can't find a carrier at that price, however, they may simply not transport your vehicle. I would much rather have received an honest call saying it would cost another $200 or $300. I could have paid more and gotten my sons' car to Ohio. I understand Montway is a broker and must find an independent carrier. But that is precisely the service I hired Montway to provide. A price guarantee isn't worth much if the company can honor the price simply by not providing the service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Montway Auto Transport.

A few days before my car was to be picked up, They told me it would be picked up Monday. They didn't show up so I called to ask. They said they'd be there Tuesday. They didn't show up. When I tried to ask what was going on, they just said they were within their original window and were not apologetic. The same issues happened upon pick up. They missed a few windows and then, with my car less than an hour away for 1.5 days, said it was because the driver could not deliver ANY cars that day due to some regulations. Then the driver contacted me to say he wouldn't deliver to me because he had too many deliveries that day. Kim in the main office was AMAZING and probably the only helpful person I talked to the entire time I was going through this.
