Now we're loading in the dark and cold. -Show up un-equipped -The driver has no Montway documents or ID, and his truck is from a totally different company. SCAM business practice... first mistake I made was not reviewing customer reviews of Montway or I would have steered clear of my inquiry on getting an estimate to ship a vehicle. I did an online inquiry from several transport companies, one being Montway. I placed my inquiry on pricing and promptly received an email confirmation with a quoted price, BUT asking me for additional details about vehicle being shipped, to/from addresses etc. I did not reply to their email request, yet 3 days later I had a driver at my door saying they were there for my vehicle. I advised the driver I didn't authorize a dispatch, so why was he at my door. He was just as confused as I was. I contacted support who advised they'd called me 2x that day and that I said I didn't speak English (i asked for that call recording because I in fact speak English and no other language) the customer service representative agreed that the call notes seemed odd. It took Montway 6 days to provide me a partial reimbursement for something I never authorized NOR completed their inquiry request. This is a HORRIBLE company to work with, who clearly has deceptive business practices and from others reviews takes no ownership in their drivers or the level of product/service they advertise. I recently just had my NEW vehicle shipped from arizona to michigan. the driver was very helpful and was very timely with the delivery. He even notified me when someone shot a bullet through my driver side window! He informed me that this would be paid for and covered since it was obviously not in my control (and a bullet in a window is a pretty big deal..?). Montway has been super unhelpful and basically told me that they are not compensating this after me being told otherwise. I also paid an extra $100 for my car to be loaded on the top so instances like this wouldn't happen, and my car arrived on the lower level, which Montway will also not refund me for. The driver admitted to me and he was the one who made me aware that he drove it. They also said my inoperable vehicle was an "act of god." Ignore what time frame they quote you and add 4-5 days to the estimated delivery and pickup date. They lie to get your business because they do not deliver the truck and are not liable for the GUARANTEED delays. Montway does not own trucks or handle the shipping. They just get $2-300 for brokering the deal. They pay the rest of your fee to a delivery company in their network. Vehicle shipping companies don't make any money off of individual consumer deliveries and mainly handle transport for dealerships. But they will take your car when they have an 18-wheeler with one or two open spots to cover their costs. It's cheaper to go directly to the company that owns the trucks. But consumer deliveries aren't profitable for them. Meaning it will take much longer to get your car picked up and ultimately delivered to where you need it. So do it 3 months in advance to rid the market of these useless middlemen. TLDR: Montway overpromises and underdelivers. The dishonesty is why they get one star. Every former customer I've spoken to has informed me about the "unexpected delays". They are not unexpected and Montway knows that the car will not arrive as quickly as they claim. But all the vehicle broker companies are like this. Just know that you can't get your car shipped on short notice without paying 3 times what a trucking company would charge. Save your money and plan the delivery 3 months in advance with the company that owns the trucks and don't waste your time enriching these unnecessary middlemen. read more

When I requested for them to stop calling they stated they only would with an email asking them to stop the order that we never placed. So with Montway, the vehicle pickup occurred at the very last hour possible, despite a guaranteed pickup day, leaving little to no space for logistical errors. Had this been the only issue, the rest of the service would've been satisfactory. My order also had a restriction on it to be delivered on or after Jun 24. I was told this would be honored. On my own volition, I tracked my vehicle shipment using an Airtag. I saw the vehicle arrived in the destination area 4 full days before the "deliver on or after" date. I took action and called montway to inquire. Had I not taken this excessive initiative, the vehicle would've arrived early with nobody to receive it. Someone on Montway told me that the record showed the carrier spoke to me and that I authorized early delivery. This was a lie - I never spoke to anyone nor authorized the early delivery. I was in the process of making an out of state 20-hour move. After much back and forth, the carrier reluctantly agreed to deliver after 400P on a Saturday, despite that I had guaranteed delivery the following Monday or later. I was forced to rush the final leg of my trans-state move to ensure I arrived in time to receive my vehicle. When it did arrive - only 1 of the people spoke English. The non-English speaking worker proceeded to light up a disgusting cigarette right next to me - the whole unloading process was subpar and unprofessional. When it was all said and done, Montway only agreed to refund me $100. This is not acceptable and I will post the review of everything that happened publically. Apparently, Montway mgmt feels it acceptable to break even on this job and accept the poor review, likely costing them thousands in lost business on future jobs not booked. That was a very poor management decision. It would've been an easy call, had this been my business, to offer half the money back in exchange for making it right with the customer. My wife asked for a quote which was provided. My wife accepted the quote but payment was required after the service was received. Then I called them before the "cancellation without penalty" window to add 1 more vehicle to the quote. The agent said he needed a Credit Card on file to send out a request to carriers. Then a confirmation was sent back to us for a 1 car pickup. I called back and tried to either get both cars picked up or none. They bounced me around trying aggressively to get me to agree to each car sent out on different trucks ( presumably ) since they could not get both done on an exact date ( I was open to any "same day" but both needed to be picked up ), I declined. Again all this before the "cancellation without penalty" timeline. In a month I noticed in my CC bill that I was charged anyway and this fraudulent company is refusing to cancel the charges and refuses to acknowledge that I called in and changed it to a 2-car service. I have called them multiple times to get some answers but get bounced around for hours and they seem to have no records of my 2nd car request ( I did call them a lot and should have communicated only through emails). When the CC Bank asked them to prove that I agreed to accept their services they provided the earlier records of the 1 car quote and one that I agreed to earlier but cancelled later. And I have no way to prove what transpired in our phone calls. Later I heard that is one of the common bait-and-switch scams that are prevalent in the cat transport industry. . We had extreme difficulty communicating with driver since he didn't speak any English. we had to communicate through Google Translate, which was very difficult. The driver never kept his time when he promised to pick up or deliver the vehicle and callbacks from the driver were poor. We were unable to track our vehicle, so never knew the progress of the car. There was also a question about the damage to the vehicle during the loading process. I did call the Montway office to speak to them and they basically told me this is how it is since the driver is an independent and the damage was he said she said. Transported a brand new vehicle from a dealer in SC to AZ. The car was a gift for my wife. The vehicle arrived very quickly (within 3 business days) and the transaction was seamless. I paid for an enclosed container so that the car would remain 'spotless' as advertised on their website (https://www.montway.com/enclosed-auto-transport). However, when it arrived the driver acknowledged that my car got dirty because he loaded a dirty wet car above mine. When I submitted a claim Montway politely claimed that the shipping company cannot be held responsible for dirt and debris despite being in an enclosed container. To be clear, my car was in no way damaged and I remedied the situation by taking the vehicle to be hand washed. However, I believe that consumer expectations should be met in particular when those expectations are set as advertised. The cost of me having to arrange for an external wash and detail is a two star deduction. read more

The transport was prepaid thru uship and Montway was assigned the contract which assigned my truck transport to a private company. December 9, 2022, My still near new 2021 Porsche Taycan that I kept as clean as it was on the showroom floor was transported by Montway Auto Transport in an enclosed trailer. The car was immaculate when loaded, 2.5 days later and after 1,400 miles, the car arrived filthy dirty. Is just like if the car was driver around in a desert with the windows down. A layer of dirt you will see on the inside of the car in the pictures that is unbelievable! I would NEVER recommend Montway Auto Transport to haul anything, ever! I have used several auto transport companies over the years but Montway AUto Transport is the absolute worst by far & away. if I could, I would give them zero stars. This was my first time shipping a vehicle, and the communication was absolutely terrible and very misleading. I had to drive two hours away to meet the driver because they refused to come to the city that I live in. There were three different drivers on three different days that were supposed to come. Basically, this company just outsources drivers and they throw you to the wolves. This is the most unprofessional and disorganized company I over paid for my vehicle, and whenever the person dropped it off, he threatened that if I didn't pay, he would put my vehicle in a storage unit and it would cost three times as much. Literally evil scam artist people, the manager Nina called me to apologize and didn't offer to compensate me at all after I had driven two hours out of my way I had to get a ride back and then was threatened by a driver. Who was trying to overcharge me. Previously that day I had another person from MONTWAY tell me NOT to pay that amount that the driver was texting me. The person who was driving the truck told me three different weights that my car was and his original weight of how much my car Weighed was absolutely incorrect. I googled it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They will over charge you , make you feel unsafe and do nothing to compensate you back. I have no idea how they are even in business. The largest issue and somewhat out of their hands, was the driver for the service. He personally committed to a pick up day and time. He was a day late and 3 excuses later, he finally showed up. We had very similar issues with the actual delivery process. I know they indicate that everything is approximate, but when the driver himself gives commitments and then breaks them.. it is eventually frustrating. I would hesitate to use them again. read more

Shop other v Companies since montway is a middleman and doesn't care who transports for them. Also, the battery was dead because they left the ignition on to listen to the stereo. Sad but true. One month ago, I shipped a car to my cousin in Indiana using Montway and everything worked out very well. I would use Montway again and I would recommend them. They have an easy-to-use website - no trouble booking the transport. The company communicated often during the process via email and phone call. I never had to wonder what was going on and when they would pick up the car. The man who picked up the car was very professional. Best of all, it was delivered ahead of schedule. I do not know if the price was reasonable or not because I have no experience in this market. Lots of issues with this company. They never delivered my vehicle to the final destination. Trailer issues, damage to the vehicle and after 2 weeks of excuses, I had to fly to Texas to retrieve it and drive it to Arizona. They did discount it a bit and they did pay for the damage to the vehicle that was caused but I had a lot of time invested to pick it up, drive it back and then deal with the damage issues. The driver tried to cover up some of this damage by taking it to an autobody shop and having them paint the fenders. problem is that they did not match..gloss vs. matte which was discovered quickly. Very shady in that they would not admit this. I'm sure a rep will reply to this with all the things they did right but overall bad experience which took a lot of my time to deal with and never reimbursed for any of that. Bottom - line, I employed them to deliver a vehicle in an enclosed trailer from Missouri to Arizona and they did not accomplish this task. Still trying to get my deposit refunded which they have not yet done. Just understand that they will take your deposit and then farm out this work to another company. You then have to deal with that company so they try to wash their hands of the issues. Buyer beware. read more

The shipping company got my car shipped safe & sound in 2 days in an enclosed truck. The truck driver was extremely friendly, and even gave me a ride from the airport. It was a very good experience. I did have to pay a bit extra, but they did discount the price for me and it wasn't no where near the typical price for having your car shipped enclosed. I contracted Montway Auto Transport to deliver my new vehicle from TX to AZ. I had read good reviews online and some of the guys in my online car forum said they had good luck with them. I let them know the vehicle was not ready for pick up yet and was getting quotes. They said just let them know. I contacted them back and said it was ready to go and they now said it would be $89.00 more then quoted because it was close to the holidays. I agreed and they said "Museum on Wheels" would be there on Friday 12/22/23 or Saturday 12/23/23 to pick it up. Friday came and went. Then Saturday I called at 9am in the morning letting them know the dealership closes at 5pm today and will not reopen until Tuesday 12/26/23. I also let them know I had tried contacting Museum on Wheels and the driver (was given both phone numbers) but no one was answering. They said they would get with them and call me right back. Fast forward 4 hours (now 1pm) and still have heard nothing I call back and was told they were still trying to get ahold of them but have not been able to contact anybody. They would try again and call me back either way with an update. Fast forward to 4:45pm and still no call back from Montway. I tried calling and a recording came on saying "there are more then 10 people holding, please leave your name and number, we will call you back". Still no return call. called back a 4th time and was blatantly lied to by the rep at Montway. I was told "we have been trying to get ahold of the dealership to schedule the pick up but no one will answer". My salesperson (which is the sales manager of the dealership) told me he has been answering his phone no matter what, even at 2am to a wrong caller. After all of this I get a email (still no call back as promised) stating my vehicle had been assigned to a different carrier "TK Express Inc." They would be picking it up on 12/26/23 and it would be delivered on 12/27/23. The driver Alex (very nice man) contacted me at 9am on 12/27/23 and stated he would be there around 5pm on 12/27/23. He then contacted me back and was told he had to stop driving for 10 hours and could not be there till 12/28/23. We met at 7am near my house on 12/27/23 and delivered the vehicle. The 2nd company TK Express did a very good job and I have no issues with them. The lies and lack of updates from Montway are not good business. read more

Called Jan 15th to make arrangements to have a car picked up. Was told the first available date would be the 23rd or 25th. No email was sent to verify anything that we wers told we would get. We called multiple times, and was even hung up on after being on hold for over an hour jumping from 1st to 4th place in queue. Then put on hold for another 30 minutes only to be hung up on and not able to call back because it was then after hours. Facebook and Yelp states the company /IS/ open, but call for help and get that it's outside business hours. We have not recieve any call backs or any notifications. All aspects of dealing with this company made me feel way too uncomfortable, and have now opted to just drive the car across country since our PCS date is tomorrow. If you cant guarentee pickup or delievery at a specific time that's fine, but be up front and honest about it. I paid them $1,800 to transport our vehicle from MA to AZ. They showed up in AZ 2 days early and called without much warning. Further, they refused to drop the car off at the agreed upon destination. They said that Sedona, AZ was too small for their truck. They did not tell us that before agreeing to take our car to Sedona. We had to hire someone on short notice to go pick up the car 30 minutes away from Sedona. This cost us $200. They refused to reduce the total cost by $200 or offer any other compensation. read more

I shipped my vehicle with Montway from Phoenix to Washington, DC. Montway was recommended to us and we expected the car to be delivered in a suitable condition and on time. However, this was not our experience. Cons: -expensive -difficulty communicating with our driver b/c he could not speak English -the driver delayed his arrival time 3 times and showed up over an hour late once the time was confirmed, making us wait in a parking lot for him -we did not receive door-to-door service - we had to drive the car to a pick up location in Scottsdale which was over 80 miles round trip for us, and then drive 30 minutes out of our way on the delivery end to pick up the car even though we were promised otherwise and that the pick up would be in our local neighborhood -the driver delivered the car to us on a Saturday night after changing the delivery location twice - it was dark and the car was covered in mud - so we could not do an accurate assessment for damage etc -the condition the car was delivered in was awful - so dirty and caked in mud it was actually unsafe to drive as I couldn't see properly out the windows. I had to take it to two full service car washes before we could get it clean. And when we left it with Montway the car was in mint condition. Do yourself a favor, dont waste your time or money on this company. I regret using them and wish we'd driven the car ourselves instead. Would have been a safer and better option. The car was promised in Phoenix between Friday and Sunday. I was told it would not arrive until the following Thursday and had to rent a car to go to work, which added $$$ to my expenses.
