You guys lead me on since May to get approved by insurance once the insurance approves the procedure you close the office without advance notice. Same day canceled 2hrs before appointment. The same day my appointment was canceled and rescheduled just to get another consultation that I've done numerous times. I am extremely drain for your bad service and communication. I started my visit with only leg pain now everything hurts. I am not sure how this could be fixed but I do know I will never return and I have nothing good to say about "Metro Vein". I have severe cramps in my calves and saw Dr. Cumbers last year at the Metro Vein center in Forest Hills. After I did my ultrasound he recommends I get an ablation of my (GSV) great saphenous vein to reduce the pain and soreness. I was nervous about the procedure and when I decided I was ready for the procedure 8 months later, they tell me it can't be done because any ultrasound over 6 months has to be retaken due to insurance reasons. So I made another appointment for another ultrasound at 3:30 with their call center a month prior to my visit. Two weeks leading up to my visit they text me to remind me my appointment at 1:45, I texted them back that it was supposed to be 3:30 and they confirmed they changed it. One week before my appointment they send me another text to remind me about my appointment at 11:45 and I again text back it was 3:30 and they tell me they're booked. I was confused and told them this was my original appointment and they said the office will call me back. I get a call and they tell me they're unfortunately booked and can I come at 11:45? I told them I will work with them and come at that time. I show up at 11:45 and checked in and proceeded to wait. After 30 minutes I asked them if the dr was ready to see me yet. Then one of the receptionists tells me they accidentally booked me for the procedure instead of the ultrasound. At this point I became irate, because they can't seem to do something as simple as booking patients correctly. At this point it's already 12:45, I tell them I need to pickup my kids at 2:30. The technician finally did my ultrasound and after the PA Dr. Stacy tells me my ultrasound hasn't changed from the first time however the treatment was different from what Dr.Cumbers have told me. She said I need to come 4 separate times for 4 separate injections, I told her taking that much time off from work and paying all these out of pocket deductibles is not feasible. She says she will speak to Dr. Cumbers and get back to me. At this point I was already late picking up my kids and had to call my spouse to pick them up. Come Monday Dr Stacy calls me to tell me Dr. Cumbers refuse to do same day treatments without any reason. I asked why that is and she said she was going to call me back but I haven't heard back. Had I known this was going to be 4 separate trips for 4 injections I would have never gone back. I've already paid over $500 out of pocket charges for nothing. This whole experience has been a nightmare, they have horrible communication and treat their patients poorly. They are looking to waste your time and money and I needed to share this experience so people know what they're getting into when dealing with them. read more

Besides that, I was supposed to have a procedure. When i got there, they said it was not approved. What!!! Should they let me know before I even went there!!! I recently had a first time appointment for the treatment of spider veins and other leg issues. It was a 3:45pm appt. I felt like it was a waste of time. First, I did not see a doctor until after 5pm. After filling out questionnaires and the doctor asking me very few questions about my legs, he basically said that my spider veins were cosmetic and would not be covered by insurance. One of my other complaints was leg heaviness. The doctor stated that a leg sonogram would reveal any possible issues causing leg heaviness. But then he says that it takes 40 min to do a leg sonogram and to come back because the office is closing. So I was there for around 2 hours to basically be told that my issue would likely not be addressed (depending on what the leg sonogram shows). Also, despite my leg issues, my spider veins were not worth treating as a medical issue. I explained that I have ankle swelling that I was unable to find an underlying cause for to date. This is paired with intermittent ankle pain in recent years. But the swelling has been an issue ever since my early 20s. I don't even think he looked at my ankles. He told me to visit an orthopedic specialist....which I will do....this was not a vein/circulatory issue. I learned a few things: 1) A lot of leg issues are not attributable to spider veins. 2) If you do not have varicose veins, you will likely be unable to get treatment as a medical issue. 3) Sometimes the popular place to go is not the best place to go. My total time spent was crazy....2 hours only to spend 5 min with the doctor and have nothing done is insane. Questions in my head: - Since there is a wait and possible leg sonogram (40 min) as part of the consult, why schedule first time patients at 3:45pm knowing that the office closes at 4:30 - 5:00pm? - Why should I return to this office if there is no medical reason to treat my spider veins? I walk out to an empty reception area. Then I hear everyone singing happy birthday to a colleague. I have to wait for them to finish singing and to cut the cake to check out and schedule my follow-up appointment. I just felt like they didn't care. I do understand that spider veins are superficial. But my experience overall was a huge waste of my time. My best advice for first time patients, do not allow scheduling for late in the afternoon. The more I think about it, I won't be returning. Stay away from Metro Vein Centers. It is their company policy not to use lidocaine to reduce pain with the sclerotherapy injections. OTHER CLINICS DO! The website says you will feel a stick from the injection. This is a lie. I had 8 shots. They push a 3 inch needle through your skin, fat, dense muscle and into the vein. IT HURTS-A LOT! I was also not advised in my initial consultation that the treatment would take 7 office visits over a 5 month period. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE. read more

Their customer service it's wonderful, they mailed me out their Patient Information so that I will be able to filled it out to bring it with me for my new patient appointment, on May 12th. Unfortunately I had to canceled it since on that Monday May 11th I had to go to the Emergency Hospital. Once I spoke with them, they understood and it was reschedule for June. After getting their confirmation over the phone a day before, things were going okay, except on the day of my appointment I received a very early morning phone call to verify my Insurance, they can not process it and the do not take my insurance, I was surprise that after all this time, now they DO NOT TAKE MY INSURANCE? They put me on hold couple of times to make sure, as I was listening to their recording, "WE TAKE MOST INSURANCES, AS OUR NEW PATIENT FEEL FREE TO REQUEST A FREE CONSULTATION". When the young lady that called me came back to me to reconfirmed that they do not take my Insurance, I mentioned to her what I was listening, about the Free Consultation, once again she put me on hold, and later apologies but I CAN NOT GET THAT FREE CONSULTATION SINCE THEY DO NOT TAKE MY INSURANCE. The one star is for the service I received. The support staff is very friendly and as helpful as they are able. It's fine if you have all day to wait to be seen. I had a 10am appointment. Got there early (around 930) for what I thought was a follow-up to the procedure I had last fall. They gave me a consent form to sign for an ultrasound as if I were having a whole new procedure. The technician aggravated my arthritis by twisting my leg out of my hip socket without warning. The sonogram was finished and the technician told me to wait for the doctor to speak to me. That was at 1004am. I didn't see the doctor until 1106am! And I only had to see him for about 5 minutes. I didn't have a procedure scheduled, and I still had to wait for over an hour. In the meantime I was told he was busy doing other procedures (tho no procedure I had ever took that long). I'm glad that was over -- I don't have all day to see doctors, especially for short visits. read more

They let me know they would be with me shortly. Then a tech named Farzana called me in. She did a Doppler Ultrasound on me. She explained every step carefully. She was so gentle. I went to metro vein few months ago and had a procedure done with Dr Mandy. I returned to see him a month later and waited for him in the doctors room longer then he was in the room to tell me come back and we will take care of veins that are still visible. A few months passed and had my appointment today 3-3-2020 at 11:0clock. I went to the same office Forest Hills because Dr Mandy is no longer there and he is in the city now. I am about thirty minutes away. I got there at 10:40 and waited to be called. They called me within five minutes. Took me into the room and waited for 15 minutes. I meet the new Dr he seemed nice. He left to find out prices since my health plan does not pay for this. He returned and told me the price and I agreed with the price to continue. He left the room and took someone else that was waiting. It's now 11:59 so I ask the nurse how long is he going to take I have been here for and hour and my meter ends at 1:0clock. She answered he is preforming a procedure now about 15 minutes. I waited the 15 minutes it is know 12:15 I thought why is he doing a procedure since I have been here since 11:0clock I thought if he comes in now to take care of me I am going to get a ticket since it's 12:15 and the procedure. Might take 15 or 20 minutes. Plus since I am paying out of pocket $250 is it worth It??? Are they treating me like a valued customer and patient. Well as I asked myself this I knew that I should walk out right that moment. I paid $100 for the office visit but was not going to give them $250 for treating me like I had no choice or options. Or get a ticket for their lack of judgement and the need to take care of another patient and bypass me. read more
