It is probably best for kids under age five as the space is smaller and the gear is right sized for those preschool age kids. They could improve the cleanliness of the gym as there are big dust bunnies found occasionally. Overall I don't mind spending an hour or so here on a rainy day to get kids energy out.

The gym itself is on the smaller side, but don't let that fool you. It has everything I've needed, the equipment is in great shape, and I've never had an issue finding an open machine. I've gone at different times of the day, and even when it's a little busier, I still don't have to wait long for equipment. I actually prefer this over the bigger gyms. It's a more relaxed environment, and I never feel intimidated or like I'm being judged. It's also kept really clean, there's always someone around if you have a question, and I appreciate the little things like the cubbies for your belongings and the scale to track your progress. They also offer a variety of fitness classes, and while I haven't taken one yet, I already have the schedule hanging on my refrigerator because I definitely plan to. Whether you're looking for a place to work out, take the kids swimming, or do both at the same time, this is a great spot. I'm really glad I found it.

Examples of independent tasks for a beginner: putting face underwater on the step to grab fish; wearing a flotation device to practice scooping; and using a barbell to kick from one side of the pool to the other. -The price is very reasonable. The biggest reason for our switch was availability and the fact that it is simply a month-to-month commitment. Another big plus is that if my child exceeds the expectations of a particular level they can be moved up during the month, they aren't stuck for a season. The facilities are large and very clean. I really enjoy the large viewing space the parents have to choose from - either pool side or in the air conditioning behind the wall-to-wall glass. The plentiful changing rooms are a bonus as are the showers. The staff has always been very welcoming and kind to myself and our kids and are quick to greet new families. There have been a handful of occasions where they've had fun activities for non-swimming siblings to partake in while lessons are going to the swimming sibling. I really appreciate the child-to-swim coach ratio and how organized the entire operation is. My only hesitation to give five stars is the availability of classes before 5pm. The earliest lessons available M-F are at 3:30pm and lessons are every 30minutes after that (4pm, 4:30pm, etc). Once your child moves up to a certain skill level available times get later, like 5pm or after. Our son moved up a level during the summer and originally there were no M-F time slots available at all and when one did open up it was at 6 or 6:30pm which is dinnertime for our family. Our son was in his last month of swim classes so we opted to have him just stay in the same level instead of graduating up, but it was disappointing. I have referred friends to Big Blue and will continue to do so. It really is a great swim school and I am grateful we had such a good experience with them over the last year.

Both Albert and Baylee are incredibly professional, highly skilled, and fantastic coaches. I also recently had the opportunity to have a great heart-to-heart with Albert. We talked about customer service, our respective passions, and found a wonderful mutual understanding of both of our perspectives--which I deeply appreciated. While this is my son's last class for now, we are incredibly grateful for the foundation they've built for him. Highly recommended! Old review: I am incredibly disappointed with our recent evaluation experience at Blacktip Swim School in Plano. Up until this point, we hadn't had any major issues, but the lack of communication and disregard for a parent's explicit request has left a very bitter taste in my mouth. We learned back in Level 1 that my son needs a specific environment to succeed. When he was tested by a female coach initially, he didn't take it seriously at all and had to be retested. When Coach Albert stepped in to perform that retest, it was night and day. My son simply responds better to a male coach when it comes to the pressure of testing and evaluations--I know how my child operates. Because of this, I went out of my way to ensure we wouldn't have a repeat of that situation. I explicitly told Coach Albert that I wanted him to do the evaluation, and I also specifically told Coach Megan the exact same thing. Despite confirming this, the evaluation was performed by Coach Baylee. To make matters worse, Coach Albert was visibly available on-site during the exact time my son was being evaluated. When I brought my dissatisfaction and disappointment directly to Coach Baylee, explaining that I had specifically requested Coach Albert, her response was simply, "I can do evals too." While I have no doubt she is qualified, that completely misses the point. It was not what I requested, and it completely ignored my child's specific learning needs. Unsurprisingly, without the right coaching dynamic for the test, my son did not pass. I've attached a screenshot of his scores from a little over two weeks ago for reference; it shows he was already just about there, and he even attended three additional practices after that progress report was posted. He was ready. When he failed due to the environment, I was initially told he would just have to retest in two weeks. I brought my frustration directly to Coach Albert afterward. Essentially, the attitude from the school was that I was out of luck because they had "other classes today," and they admitted absolutely no fault for the mix-up. Coach Albert offered a small solution: he told me we could come in 5 minutes early next week so he can personally perform the evaluation. The entire reason I advocated for my son and requested Coach Albert was to avoid this exact outcome. It is incredibly frustrating to watch your requests get completely ignored, especially when the coach you asked for is standing right there. I am giving them the chance next week to make this right, but Blacktip Swim School needs to do a much better job of listening to parents, taking accountability for their mistakes, and honoring requests that directly impact a child's success.

And finally, you can cancel your lesson even a minute prior to the start time and receive a makeup lesson credit that you can use ANYtime! PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS WITH YOUR MONEY... Ms. Danita had the nerve to make a 16 y/o clock out but still finish up her shift. And then accused her of being a liar and a thief just because the 16 y/o took a break while she was waiting for a party to clear out the room so she can clean. Imagine working 9 straight hours non-stop without a break. This behavior by this "manager" is unacceptable and disgusting. To belittle and tear down a minor is horrific. This is not a place to support when management treat the employees like crap. I had to give a star rating in order to post. Definitely deserves a negative 5 stars read more

My have two boys that have gone her for mommy and me classes, gymnastics class, summer camp , Parents night out, swim lessons and birthday parties 3 xs I have booked here. No issues. My 5 year old just did the 2 week swim camp and he did really great. He will also start gymnastics class in the fall for the school year. Never had any issues and they love to go to some days of the camp during the summer and LOVE Parents Night Out!!!! read more

We have sent 2 children to Metroplex and could not be happier with the staff and their programs! Both of my children took swim lessons there and are excellent swimmers! We have also participated in the parent's night out (awesome and very reasonably priced) as well as hosted birthday parties! Great facilities, lots of fun and wonderful staff! read more

Stay away! The owner is really rude! A couple of teenagers are running the place without proper supervision, policies, and rules. We had a chance to work with similar establishments in Plano, Allen, Frisco area, this has been by far the worst place in all aspects, including the service quality, customer centricity, and facilities. read more

My daughter is currently with COACH ALEX. All I've seen in this class every single week is stretching for 20-30 minutes and then for the last 20 minutes the children run around or attempt to flip on bars. There are way too many children with one coach who does not even have enough time within the last 20 minutes to help all the children with what they're supposed to be learNing. Half of the time the little girls stand there looking clueless as to what they're supposed to be doing. The coaches are rude when you speak to them and just all around look like they don't enjoy their jobs. This place is also unorganized and does whatever they want. I'm curious if there's someone who should be watching over these coaches to make sure the job is done correctly. I will not be returning and do not recommend.

As a minority mother of a neurodivergent child with ADHD, I left absolutely heartbroken by how my 7-year-old daughter was treated. Throughout the class, Coach Ashley repeatedly yelled at, corrected, and singled her out in a way that felt drastically different from the treatment of the other children. The final straw was when my daughter was denied a turn on the trampoline while the other children participated. She left class in tears. When I attempted to speak with Coach Ashley afterward, she refused to engage and walked past me. When I brought my concerns to management, I was interrupted before I could finish explaining what happened. There was no apology, no concern for a crying child, and no accountability. The only response was, "I'll change her class." What made this even more upsetting is that this was not the first concerning interaction I have witnessed at WOGA Plano. I have personally observed management speaking harshly and publicly reprimanding other minority children in a way that made me uncomfortable. I cannot tell anyone what was in Coach Ashley's heart, but I can tell you how it felt to watch my daughter be singled out, excluded, humiliated, and reduced to tears while other children were not. As her mother, the experience felt racist, discriminatory, and cruel. WOGA Plano may have a strong reputation, but no reputation excuses making a little girl feel unwanted and unwelcome. I do not recommend WOGA Plano, especially for minority families or families with neurodivergent children. My daughter deserved patience, kindness, and encouragement. Instead, she left asking why her coach was so mean to her.

When a friend told us about Best Gymnastics and why they liked it so much it sounded like the perfect balance for us. We checked out the website and found the first class is free! Quick Facts Parents want to know.... * The classes are based on levels of experience (1,2, 3 and so on) and most levels are offered each day so you can usually find the day and time that fits your schedule best. They days/times do fill up, but kids move around or graduate up a level so if at first the day or time you want isn't available, check back the next month as a spot may open up (that's what happened for us). * We've been at Best Gymnastics about a month now and my daughter is learning so much. The coaches are firm but kind so the students actually learn and don't just goof off. They have so much fun while learning great skills. *Parents can wait and watch. The entire gym is open so there is no hidden space you can't see your child. *There are mostly folding chairs to sit in but a handful or so high chairs are seated at a long table if you need to bring a computer. There is free wifi, a drink and snack vending machine and they keep it a little chilled so bring a coat. ---Our Experience---- When we arrived it was obvious where to check-in and we were greeted so kindly. We were shown to the cubbies where students place shoes, socks, jackets and water bottles. Management is helpful and attentive to my need to push her in certain areas and they take constructive criticism well. They're always trying to improve and asking what we like or don't about our time here. I have referred a couple friends and they also had positive experiences. At times the kids paired in the class don't seem to be as advanced as my kid and that can lead to slower times transitioning to the next exercise but overall we have had help with makeup classes, tailoring teaching methods to my kiddo and I've seen first hand how well they work with adaptive swim and special needs kids. I have done a lot of research on classes in the area and this is hands down the best option with the most flexibility and cost is reasonable. Best coaches for us have been Azul, Makayla, Patton, Natalie, and my daughter also likes Heidi however I feel they spend more time talking then learning so I have put notes in to limit that and redirect to skills work when it's just her and my kiddo in the pool. I don't like the 3 kids to 1 instructor but if the kids are all matched by skills and listen (it is a class. If your kids just wanna play or you can't get your kid to focus go to a public pool, don't waste my money and time with a coach having to constantly redirect your kid) it runs smoothly and each kid gets a solid 10min of swim time which is a decent time to perform skills and learn. We do 2x a week and that's better for us. The swim clinic seems to be more intensive and focused but I haven't tried it due to our schedule so I can't speak on that personally. It's not even one on one with an instructor. It can be three to one which whittles his 30 min "swim" time down to about 10 min. I requested to end his lessons knowing they require a thirty day notice and then they claimed they didn't receive a withdrawal request. They also don't like to let you change days of the week. I work as a nurse and don't get the same days off every week. When I requested a different day of the week they pushed my withdrawal date back even farther and it will be more like 40 days, not 30. All they want to do is keep collecting that monthly payment, not teach your kid to swim. What a waste of money and time.

My daughter was coming here, but unfortunately, after today's Event we will no longer be coming…read morethere. If your kid is in the four year-old class, please make sure to stay there the entire time watching them because they will send your child out by themselves without making sure that their parent is there. My daughter was lost and could not find me because I had to take my infant to the car during her our class And they did not check to make sure that I was there. When I came back inside to check on her, she And the teacher had no idea of where she was. We found her in the bathroom inside the gymnasium where they were because she went back inside after not seeing me thank God, but somehow the Teachers did not see her come back in and she hit her foot on the door and it started bleeding. She went into the little bathroom. Stayed in there and cried until I came in looking for her. Extremely unprofessional and so very scary. I'm so grateful that my daughter went back into Had she not it would've been an extremely upsetting situation, Because there is a gym inside and dozens of people coming in and out If she had went out to look for me, she would've been lost or taken! The teacher was Emily. they said they would set up a call and have been avoiding me. so disgusting that they lost my child and won't even reach out about the situation.

If you don't believe me, let the look of trust, confidence and happiness in these pictures speak for themselves. The owners and coaches are fantastic--not only are they highly skilled and knowledgeable, but they genuinely care about each athlete. They take the time to get to know the kids, build their confidence, and ensure they are always safe while pushing them to achieve their best. The coaches emphasize proper technique and safety, which gives parents peace of mind. They have a way of making even the toughest workouts fun and engaging, so the kids are always excited to come back. Team members are expected to be at practice; but there are reasonable exceptions to allow for a life outside the gym. We've seen incredible progress in our girl's skills and confidence since joining Texas Dynamix. It's more than just a gym--it's a supportive family that celebrates every success, big or small. Like all families, none are perfect or without a few bumps along the way. But when things happen, the owners are open to feedback and making adjustments if possible. I recommend this for girls, but if you have a son like me, then it's a waste of time if your kid…read morewants to be able to grow, they do not take the boy's gymnastics seriously. Only one level is offered and the guys teaching the class spend most of the time talking to each other. Lovely gym and like I said great for girls.

My daughter was on team , we were initially looking at the USAG program and we made the decision to enroll into the TAAF program due to scheduling. They were very informative in helping us get settled into the gym as well understanding the difference in each team program and what to expect. The Coaches ( Princetta, Katie, Mary and Stephanie ) are amazing , no yelling , always being positive and encouraging to help build confidence in the gymnasts. It says a lot when other Coaches take the time to acknowledge and give corrections and offer support to a gymnast who is not necessarily under their own instruction and group on several occasions ( my daughter was spotted by Rick and Kadence on uneven bars ) . Anytime I have called or stood at the front desk Ms. Lori and Adrian were very helpful and welcoming . They were always eager to assist and make sure I had a good understanding when I had questions. They also would double check any payments or team fees when I had to update my records during meet season. They helped walk me through a blind access to my account and never passed any judgment for not being tech savvy. As far as the gym it is a very uniform and structured facility. If the gymnast are are on the uneven bars / balance beam they are able to see themselves on a tv screen to be able to see form and visualize the error / correction. A larger gym would be ideal somedays it may seam a little over crowded ( prior to COVID -19) . You have the ability to watch practice or drop off. As far as Beckie and Kurt they always made themselves accessible to any parents who had any questions or concerns . They gym has done a phenomenal job of insuring the gymnast safety. I would highly recommend this gym- KT STRONG!
