It's been years since I updated my review of Emler. We were weekly attenders for years, until Covid and then came back for weekly lessons in 2023, but then school got in the way. While we don't do weekly lessons at Emler any longer, I was pleased to find their daily swim lessons available for the summer. I looked in May and June and was delighted they had so many MORNING options. I booked three separate weeks of dailies for my daughter. The online registration was easy & simply. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. During the first week my daughter "graduated" to the next level and we needed to change the remaining lessons, but the front desk handled it all and made the process very smooth. My daughter was fortunate enough to have Angel as her instructor for all three weeks and she was great with all the kids in her class and did a great job communicating with us parents. I would definitely recommend Emler to anyone looking for weekly, monthly or daily swim classes. read more

Looking to learn to swim? Well, come on in. My mother was adamant, she wanted my children to learn how to swim early, like I did. I enrolled my children for summer classes (3 years old and 1 years old). The classes coordinate with the season of the year, winter, spring, summer and fall. The cost of classes are a little pricey, BUT I feel the price is well worth the results. The classes are 30 minutes each. It doesn't seem like much but, if you go home and practice the same activities, you should definitely see results. Both my children didn't mind pools, but they are leaps and bounds from where they started. My daughter attends the aquatots class, either with my wife or myself. The toddler class teaches breath control, floating on the back and returning to the edge of the pool. They try to get the toddlers acclimated to the water. When my daughter started, she wouldn't close her mouth, when she would go under water. She can now hold her breath for about 8 seconds. She is starting to kick more, as well. She also likes to sit on the edge of the pool and fall into the water, as she expects to go under water. My son attends a class for 3 year olds. Although he didn't mind the water, he didn't like going under the water. Now, as the classes are coming to an end, I have to keep an eye on him, because he will just jump in any open body of water, if he has on swim trunks. Keep in mind he can't fully swim yet. I admire the confidence, but can we learn how to fully swim before we start jumping in pools without permission? They allow the kids to ride the slide into the water, at the end of class, which my son loves. In my sons class, they teach breath control, finding the edge of the pool, in case you fall in, boat safety and basic swimming. I think my son will be a proficient swimmer, with another round or two of classes. I honestly wish I would've followed my mothers advise and enrolled my son, when he was 1 years old. I love the teachers, my children love their teachers. I feel that this is a great investment. My only annoyance is that It is extremely hard to get someone on the phone, when you need to speak with someone at the location. Oddly there is always someone sitting at the desk when you enter the school. Overall it is a great swimming school. They also offer their pool space for private parties. read more

Absolutely fantastic! Jenni is my daughter's teacher and I am so very very glad we signed up here. I wish we'd started even earlier! My daughter is 2 1/2 and at first was terrified of the water, didn't even want it to touch her face, and in just a couple of months she's able to go under water for 2 seconds, and is learning to climb out of the pool. I know we'll be here for a long time to come as she learns to swim, and I love how dedicated and positive the staff is. They have the patience of SAINTS. Just a heads up - You'll want to come in your swimsuits and bring a change of clothes after. You also need to bring towels. If your kiddo is still in diapers you'll need to buy two pairs of swim diapers from Emler and they wear both at once just to guarantee there's no accidents in the pool (which would ruin classes for everyone as there are multiple classes happening at once). For the little ones you'll be in the pool with them, so you need a suit/towel too. But you get to sing songs and help them do each of the steps which is fantastic. Our kids have been coming to Emler Allen for the last 8 months and we are extremely pleased with how much they have grown. Bathtime Babies is a great place to start your baby off because it gets them accustomed to actually being in the water. Aside from that, they sing songs in class, do activities, and are able to socialize with other babies. The bathtime babies class is free with a registration fee. The transition to Waterbabies was seemless, with them going completely under water about a month in. Miss Kaylyn was our instructor and she has a natural way with kids and is extremely patient. Our daughter developed a fear of the water at around 7 months, but with patience and continued classes she has worked through that. Both babies can hold their breath for 10 seconds underwater and are having a great time in class. read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. We started our daughter here at 10 months or so on swim lessons. The instructors are awesome and they take the time to explain and work with the kids at such a young age. If you have an option ask for Jana. She's amazing! The staff here is AMAZING! They are so great with the kids, they make a point to learn their names so it is personal and the kids learn so much! I had asked around where to take my toddler for swim lessons and I heard so many great personal reviews of Emler. I was struggling at first with how much more the lessons cost compared to the city ones, but she is actually learning valuable skills. (I heard that is not the case with city lessons.). Everything they do is purposeful yet fun. Great curriculum! The instructors are positive and communicate well on what the kids are working on and what needs improvement. We have Katelyn right now and my girl loves her, but every instructor we have experienced and seen are great. The facility is nice and clean. The pool is warm/comfortable for the kids even in the winter. We went over to grandpa's house and he freaked when he saw her swimming under water on her own! Ha! I highly recommend Emler in Allen! Last week my son fell in a friend's pool fully clothed, everyone standing around or in the pool, but did not need assistance to get out. After falling in he was able to turn around to the wall and started to climb out! He did not panic. He is three and this made my momma heart so happy! Both of my children have done swim school at this Elmer location; however my daughter is finishing up her semester right now. She used to be terrified of water, until Miss. Callie. I know she's leaving, and my daughter is so sad to see her go. She isn't just a gem of a human, but am amazing teacher. She is kind and patient and so warm with the kids. Her "Miss. Callie day" is her favorite day of the week. She even made her a thank you card once she found out she was leaving. Although I still don't recommend going to Emler in summer. My cousin was here and she said fall session are not crowded less chaotic.The management takes any feedback very positively they contacted me and tried to make the experience better. Although I have not taken free classes they offered, because I can only do weekends I appreciate that management takes every parents feedback to make the experience much better Extremely crowded .. My child's class has 4 kids and the kids are really using only 100 sqft area and pushing each other. Allen facility only has one pool.. And it feels like every one is standing on top of another. I have used Plano Emler which has more patient teachers and better facility. Feeling frustrated that I have paid for the entire session and this place is not paying off. Our son was struggling with focus and self-confidence. His one love is being in the water. We enrolled him last summer and we immediately noticed a change. He not only got the life skill of swimming, but with the positive encouragement and the caring attitude of his instructor, Mr Josiah and the site director Austin, his overall confidence improved as well as his social skills and his focus. I want to say the first semester class was really nice the teacher was great. But after that they change my daughter 's teacher like every class. We had the best experience at Emler, starting our daughter in swim classes at 6 months old. We lucked out and started in Mallory's class, who we feel is the best infant teacher there. At the beginning my daughter did not enjoy the class but by 3 weeks in she began to love it. Swim became the happiest time for our baby, she loved the pool, the routine, got to know the other kids, and she really learned from Mallory. She built up her confidence in the water and quickly built up to hold her breath for 10 sec under water. For a baby starting to swim, we recommend Emler and Mallory! read more

This place is probably a good place for a toddlers birthday party or a private lesson. My kids went to the group lessons and it was super packed for that size of a pool that size of kids is way too much. My kids like the instructors etc. But, not worth it. The partition is marked width Wise which makes the pool shorter than the usual length, and my kids were on the side of the steps. This made it even more cramped coz the depth was shorter as they stayed in the middle of the rectangle!! I brought it to their attention but, didn't get any positive attitude or change. Bottom line waste of time & money if you want yr. Kids to learn laps & endurance. Wouldn't recommend this place. read more

I enrolled my 3 year old in her first ever swim class and I am so glad I chose Emler! I had heard all good things about them from my other friends who had their kids swimming in Emler and decided to go for it... Their staff is extremely courteous and patient with kids... my daughter cried a lot in her first class but their staff is well trained to handle such situations and they also reassured me it's going to get better! My daughter attended this Allen branch for over a year. The results are somewhat slow however they have a very well equipped and clean facility. The staff and teachers are courteous and willing to help all the time. It's worth it to have your kid trained by this school. read more

Our kids have been taking swim lessons at Emler since before they were one. Not only have they learned how to swim but the techniques they have learned recently paid off. This past weekend, my daughter (she is 3) was outside with her grandma and fell head first into our pool. She didn't panic, she simply swam to the top of the water and climbed out of the pool. When my son started swim lessons this Spring he was afraid to get in the water. Now just a few months later he begs to go to the pool daily. He enjoys jumping in and swimming across the pool. His teacher in the spring was Arezu and he has Lawrence this summer. Both have been amazing with him. My daughter started out in Waterbabies and was quickly moved up to Aqua tots. I love the staff and how they make sure that each kid is in the correct class. The staff also takes the time to remember each child's name. Olivia has been the most helpful to us. Cannot emphasize enough how awesome the instructors here are. My 3 yr old used to despise water and would throw a fit during the sessions. We had thoughts about pulling him out. But the deck manager Mr. Armando got into the water to give him special attention and pacify him. He also had my son take extra 1-1 sessions for no extra cost to make up for sessions lost when my son did not cooperate. Ms. Arezu, his instructor is just awesome!! She was extremely patient and cooperative to ensure he learnt to enjoy swimming and we could not have asked more from her. We signed my daughter up at the start of this summer...really just for it to be a fun activity during the summer however, little did I know that the entire staff at Emler Swim School of Allen would be so utterly amazing. From the moment I walk in, the entire front staff says hello to my two-year-old, as well as myself, my husband, and my youngest daughter as they know all of us by first name. This past summer we started and while yes, it was crowded, during the lesson (since it was summer time) I never felt like that during the lesson. I felt as though, and still do, that my daughter receives tons of one-on-one attention though, there are several other students in the class. Fast forward about three months and my daughter is still having some issues going under water however, the teacher still continued to work with her. Now, she can hold her breath under water for 10 seconds! Despite the breath control, my daughter would still cry every time she went under water. About three weeks ago, her now former coach, approached us about moving up a class. I genuinely thought she was crazy. She still cries. Why would we move her up? Two weeks into her new class, my daughter LOVES it and begs to go to the pool in the morning! Despite the tears, the coach was able to look past that and see her true abilities and now my daughter is loving every minute of the lesson! I am so grateful we decided to come here.
