I guess when you put that together you have the makings of the next Mary Lou Retton or the one from Allen Texas who won gold some years back. Anyways, I put her in a program in Denton and we didn't stay to long. Not that it was bad, but it looked more like daycare than actually learning much. And with 8-10 kids in a group, she wasn't getting the attention needed to actually accomplish anything. Granted the place had plenty of trophies lining the cabinets but whatever..... Enter the suggestion of my ex-wife and we found this place. Yes it's smaller, but her class size? A maximum of five kids. Her classes have been her and a little boy, and sometimes another girl. So only two to three kids? I think that's much better and I think she might get things done now. This place is more on the tumbling aspect, so I noticed that there wasn't a balance beam or a vault, but as long as my kiddo is happy, I'm happy.

After months on the waitlist, we were thrilled to start. Unfortunately, our first day didn't meet expectations. The facility was smaller than anticipated and felt overcrowded. With literally all four sessions happening at the same time, it was truly hard to hear, and cheer seemed to take over most of the space while gymnastics was pushed off to the side. The front desk staff was kind, but the coaching approach lacked warmth. As a first-time student there, my daughter received little guidance and was expected to immediately know what to do. A more welcoming environment would have made a big difference. We decided to withdraw her the same day. What concerned me most was that no one followed up after we paid for the month but never returned after only one day. it signaled a lack of care about the family experience. We'll be returning to her previous gym, where she feels more supported. Wishing this business the best, but it wasn't the right fit for us.

We are thrilled at the simplicity to set our sick and vacation days in advance online. (This allows us to makeup classes after the fact with ease and so that other members can enjoy their makeup days on the classes we cannot attend.) Their monthly 'Parents Nights Out' (First Saturday of every month) are the talk of the town as well!

The older kids program looks great and I especially like the bell located in the middle of the gym that the gymnast gets to ring when they master a skill for the first time. Great motivation! I am particularly impressed with the Tiny Tots classes. That program is outstanding! I have a very shy and timid little girl that easily becomes clingy, but somehow Coach Ethan got her to join the class. She happily joins his classes, but I was interested to see what would happen on that one day he was not there. Other coaches quickly stepped up with encouragement and she joined her class. After the initial warmup to music the class divides into two groups and each goes to a different station or the trampolines before switching. Each station just looks like fun activities to the kids, but each 'fun' activity is designed to teach a very specific skill. Each 'fun' activity is first demonstrated by the coach, but big picture cues beside each piece of equipment also instructs. When the coach observes a child skipping a skill or not completing it correctly, they will assist or give extra instruction. I notice that the assistance is as minimal as needed since the goal is for them to achieve independence. The station's setup changes each week. After a class, the coaches often chat with a parent about a skill that was mastered or improved by their child. I have seen improvement in core strength, balance, stretching and confidence, to name a few.

This is also a great space for a baby shower or any other adult party where you have kids and want them to be occupied. The gym is spacious and so is the waiting area. Beautiful space! As a minority mother of a neurodivergent child with ADHD, I left absolutely heartbroken by how my 7-year-old daughter was treated. Throughout the class, Coach Ashley repeatedly yelled at, corrected, and singled her out in a way that felt drastically different from the treatment of the other children. The final straw was when my daughter was denied a turn on the trampoline while the other children participated. She left class in tears. When I attempted to speak with Coach Ashley afterward, she refused to engage and walked past me. When I brought my concerns to management, I was interrupted before I could finish explaining what happened. There was no apology, no concern for a crying child, and no accountability. The only response was, "I'll change her class." What made this even more upsetting is that this was not the first concerning interaction I have witnessed at WOGA Plano. I have personally observed management speaking harshly and publicly reprimanding other minority children in a way that made me uncomfortable. I cannot tell anyone what was in Coach Ashley's heart, but I can tell you how it felt to watch my daughter be singled out, excluded, humiliated, and reduced to tears while other children were not. As her mother, the experience felt racist, discriminatory, and cruel. WOGA Plano may have a strong reputation, but no reputation excuses making a little girl feel unwanted and unwelcome. I do not recommend WOGA Plano, especially for minority families or families with neurodivergent children. My daughter deserved patience, kindness, and encouragement. Instead, she left asking why her coach was so mean to her.

Parking is quite accessible, and the people excepting money for admission were very pleasant; seating was rather deplorable as we were forced to sit on hard planks of wood that you would expect from back in the 70's ; steel posts were right in front of several of us in the viewing gallery and the video screen for the scoring was absolutely unacceptable! The lights could've been dimmed so that the screen could have been seen from us in the seating area and there was only one loud speaker in the entire facility. The dancing routines could've been amplified in order to get the crowd going, but no, not at this place... just loud enough so that the young ladies could hear their routine while doing their floor exercise. I would encourage patrons of this facility to take advantage of the Wi-Fi because the building is made of metal and simply blocks out any way of getting any decent phone reception. A few simple tweaks, and this place could really be a nice facility for gymnastics .
