We could not be more impressed with Wayne and his company Metroplex Landscape Lighting. We received several bids from other companies prior to contacting Metroplex and were just not comfortable with any of them, and therefore kept putting off making a decision. I came across Metroplex on Angie's List and they had so many exceptional reviews that we decided to give them a call. From the first phone call with Wayne to the final follow-up we have been extremely impressed with the service. We scheduled an appointment for Wayne to come out and discuss the project and give us a quote. He was on-time, professional, and knowledgeable. He had the quote back to us a few hours later and the cost was very reasonable and included everything from start to finish (others bids we received did not). He and his crew installed 8 lights in the trees and 6 more that illuminate the front of the house. We have a very large yard which required them to run long stretches of electrical wire. The trenches for the wiring were done so precisely that they were almost invisible. They used very heavy-duty professional LED brass lights and knew exactly how to position them to get the best effect from the lighting. They were done in the same day and the crew left the yard spotless. Wayne checked with us later that night after dark to make sure that we were happy with the results and also came out a week later to follow up with us again. We bought our older home about 1-1/2 years ago and have had it totally renovated inside and out. In doing that we have worked with more contractors then I can count anymore, and we were really getting soured on how little pride and work ethic most of them have. Landscape lighting was "that project" we were going to do ourselves, but could just never get to. So, I decided to look into professional installation as a gift to my husband for his birthday and Valentine's day. Honestly, I thought it would be too expensive and that I'd revert back to needing to DIY. So,based on the extraordinary reviews on Angie's list, I called Metroplex. The owner, Wayne Fisher, arrived exactly on time for our initial meeting. We walked the house, talking about our goals and priorities for the lighting (i.e., safety here, security there, decorative over there, etc...). He listened and provided excellent suggestions and options we had never even thought about. Within 2 hours of leaving the house, Wayne sent a quote for the job. It was clearly broken out by areas of the house and components so if I needed to consider bringing the cost down, I'd have an informed way to do it. The quote was much lower than I though it would be, and I knew immediately I wanted to proceed. Wayne knew I wanted to provide this as a Valentines day gift (which was just a few days away), so he arranged for installation THE VERY NEXT DAY. For installation, Wayne arrived with a colleague at exactly the time they promised. They were quiet, professional and cleaned up after themselves. They even trimmed hedges and trees for us to get the exact effect we wanted. They completed the whole installation in a matter of hours (and it would have taken my husband and I DAYS and DAYS). At nightfall, Wayne followed up with me to find out how we liked it...and it was even more beautiful than I expected. My wife and I had been contemplating putting in the Home Depot specials on the front of our house. I researched the project literally for months and decided it was not going to happen. I called a few installers and got some phone quotes. Wayne has a really nice website, the prices are clearly posted. I left a message on Yelp for him to contact me for a consultation. Wayne called the next day and coordinated to come after another job in my area. He contacted me by phone before he came ensuring I was there which I really appreciated. When he arrived the consultation made me confident he was the right company for the job. He listened to my ideas and made thoughtful suggestions and we agreed on a plan and he gave the the quote. We shook hands and made the appointment for the install. His schedule was pretty full but he found an opening and fit us in. He arrived and the install went perfect and in a couple hours it was done. Overall I'm super impressed with the outcome. The house looks much more impressive instantly. As for the fixtures we got the solid brass and I love them, they are designed so the light bulb is not the focus but the plants trees and house that they are lighting are. His pathway lights are really nice compared the the standard solar 10 packs that grace so many flowerbeds in the neighborhood. The light is shielded and reflects back down on the plants and the lamp post blends into the scape. Overall I would definitely recommend. read more

Wayne was wonderful. Wayne responded to my inquiry right away, got me an estimate which was very reasonably priced, and performed the work within a day or two. After the initial installation, I told Wayne that it just didn't provide enough light. The effect was very pretty, but didn't solve the problem of us having enough light to see. Wayne was great. He apologized that the work didn't offer a solution, and immediately offered to try something else. He ordered new, bigger lights and came out and replaced them all within a few days. Wayne himself said "I don't think this is what you are wanting either". He then offered to give us our money back and he'd remove all the lights. I asked if he'd be willing to try one last time. So, instead of doing lights on every other tree in the backyard, we put lights on every tree and shining on the back of our house. And, it's perfect! Third time's the charm! We are just so impressed with Wayne--his honesty, integrity, strong work ethic, responsiveness, and great customer service. We really appreciate Wayne and the great job he did for us! I'm so happy I went with Metroplex Landscape Lighting. The quality of the materials and installation is everything I could ask for and for literally half the price of his competitors. For years, I toiled with trying to maintain a department store purchased lighting system and finally just got sick of it. Wayne came out with his team and took care of replacing the whole front lighting system in 2 hours and man, does it look good. We even got yard of the month for the first time in 8 years and I believe the new lighting system has lots to do with that! Wayne was wonderful! He showed up on time, took notes, and provided an estimate on the spot. We scheduled the work within the week. On installation day, Wayne showed up again with his "tree climber". I missed this gentleman's name, but watching him work was impressive. He was both an expert climber and a seasoned lighting installer as he and Wayne worked together like a machine. Each light was meticulously aimed at a spot determined by Wayne and all wiring was hidden away neat and tidy. I hung out and watched the process as I found it fascinating... enjoyed the conversation with Wayne and tree guy as they worked. They could not have been friendlier. At the end of the day, our previously dark backyard has been beautifully transformed. We now have a soft moonlight raining down from the big trees that makes the whole backyard useable well into the night. The accent lighting adds just the right touch of interest.
