Dr. Is great but front desk has poor phone manner. Requested for paper work over the phone couple times but never did what was promised.

I suffer from sun damage so wear (used to!) a lot of makeup to cover the dark spots. I am so impressed with Jamie and team. The laser treatment was comfortable, painless with very little recovery time. WOW! Don't hesitate to come to this beautiful office to look even more beautiful. You are in excellent hands here. I normally have no skin issues, so when I developed a rash on my face, I knew I had to visit a dermatologist ASAP. First off, I love Metropolis because their scheduling system is extremely easy to use and there are always last minute appointments available. Not to mention their system makes it easy to communicate with their team through a chat feature that allows questions to be answered quickly. Needless to say, Metropolis is in the 21st century, whereas most offices are 20 years behind with the communications and scheduling system. Parking is convenient, but does cost some money. I don't mind paying for parking for convenience, especially when you're in the LA area. The only slight downside is that you will have to wait about 20-30 minutes. I don't see this as a major con since it means that the doctors and staff are taking time with their patients. There is an array of snacks and drinks for you to enjoy during your wait. The office is beautiful. Dr. Ma did an amazing job diagnosing my rash and creating a comprehensive care plan using antibiotics and a nee medication on the market. I appreciate that she knows about the most up to date treatments for conditions. I felt taken care of and not rushed, which is so rare to find nowadays. Dr. Ma is now my ride or die Derm. She friendly and personable and proceeded to treat my psoriasis not only with medication, I felt comfortable with, but also included lifestyle habits that may help me succeed in getting my psoriasis under control. I had an appointment for pilar cysts at a different clinic scheduled in a week but one ruptured so I decided I needed an appointment IMMEDIATELY. I made a list of doctors from my insurance website and got to calling. Metropolis had a Saturday appointment so I booked. Previously I was very concerned about finding a doctor with good reviews ESPECIALLY when it came to cysts because the reviews at a lot of places....were less than desirable this is MY head and I have them on my scalp in places where they're visible depending on how I part my hair. I was scheduled with Dr. Sanyal and I don't regret it at all she's very kind, and knowledgeable she explained everything clearly and answered my questions I trust her decisions and her treatment plan even though it wasn't what I wanted to hear. So stoked Dr. Wang opened an office in Pas! I was a patient of his before he had his own practice, then followed when he opened the first location of Metropolis in DTLA. Not long after, I moved to Pasadena and started seeing someone closer to home. Well, that derm moved and lo and behold I find out Metropolis has a location here less than a mile from my house! I've seen Jaime both times I've been...and yesterday she actually performed a semi-large excision on my back. I was pretty nervous as I've ever had anything like this done before. She eased all my fears and was great at both answering any questions I had and distracting me during the 45 or so mins it took to do the surgery. I took off the bandage today and was pleasantly surprised at how not crazy the wound/stitches look, super clean! Can't wait to get the stitches out! The nurses and desk staff are also super nice and very helpful and the office is gorgeous. Best views in Pas! But I expected no less from Dr. Wang. read more

Cute clean place and Dr Ma was great. Unfortunately I have never had to pay part of my Botox or other fees upfront before even meeting with the dr to discuss my concerns- ever, and I've been getting it done regularly for almost 10 years. I had to pay $170 Upfront before the dr would even speak to me about my concerns and about switching from Botox to an alternative. I also wanted to get some filler done but because of their "policy" it left a bad taste in my mouth like I am distrustful. - so I did not want to spend more money here when they act like I'm some sort of criminal. Why treat your customers this way?? Ridiculous- won't be returning - having to pay twice in one visit is a waste of time. Also I arrived 10 minutes early to my appointment time to fill out paperwork, filled it out in 5, and they still took over 45 minutes before the dr saw me past my scheduled appointment time. DO NOT GET COSMETIC PROCEDURES DONE HERE- at $15 a unit it's more expensive than nearby places (others are $9-12) but they don't have the service to back it up. Reply to your response- obviously I am not looking for the cheapest, or I would not have come here: I came here looking for the best. I have NEVER paid my insurance co-pay upfront BEFORE the appointment- that is ridiculous to even say. I also did not ask for a free consultation. I simply pay AFTER services are rendered - not before. read more

All they care about is getting their $60 and that's it ! I wouldn't waste a second there. They at first tried to refuse a refund despite the fact that the front desk blatantly lied to me. Their offer was a $60 credit and wouldn't budge. I then mentioned that as soon as I left I'd just call my credit card company and had no use for a $60 credit to a place I wouldn't be returning to. My key word yesterday with the manager was transparency, so it's funny the owner mentions that. Also, it's really funny, this place has a similar business model to massage envy!!! Would expect much more from somewhere like this. Also, the doctors are amazing but the people running the place just want money and lack tact. Got to try out the new Pasadena clinic to treat several sun spots next to my eyes as well as a milia. Dr. Wang lasered off the sun spots and cauterized the milia. I was fully expecting the sun spots to turn black and crust over but they did not... but they still faded and disappeared over a couple of weeks. The milia is gone too. So no down time or keeping my face down when I talk to people! read more

This is a long review cuz, hello? It's about my face lol! So I've been trying to treat my melasma and skin texture for awhile. It really bugs me out - I've been protecting my skin from the sun with hats, have used multiple prescription topical medications, and still my melasma did not clear & my pores are big! So I went to Metropolis Dermatology in Pasadena to review options.  I loved how patient they were with me cuz I'm a scardy cat & Google left me overwhelmed!! I saw the PA, Jamie & she was soo sweet and patient with all my concerns & questions! She reviewed with me that there are many options for treating melasma other than topical medications. I decided try micro needling the day I was there. I've had black heads on my nose since l was 9 years old and feel like my pores are huge there and on my t- zone & I am so impressed with how my pore sized reduced! I'd say about 25% after just one treatment, which after years of topical treatments and visits to the esthetician these were GREAT results for me! Also the melasma lightened a bit but after all the info Jamie gave me I now feel really comfortable with moving forward towards some kind of laser treatment in the future. I'm not trying to go crazy but I do feel comfortable at this medical office & I know I'm in the right hands.  Alssoooooo cuz I hate parking in Pasadena - let me say the office location is super convenient, there is street parking & the space is beautiful! Let me get right to the point and say that this is the best dermatology office I have ever been to. The staff are very kind and professional. Dr. Wang has an amazing bedside manner. He is so smart and empathetic. He really put my mind at ease about a skin condition that had been worrying me. Alma, an aesthetician who works there, gave me a facial treatment that was very effective in clearing my skin. She conducted the procedure in the most professional manner. She was incredibly organized and prepared. She even offered me a cough drop when I was coughing! In addition to maintaining excellent standards of practice, this office is really clean and frankly beautiful. They have art on the walls that freshens up and brightens up the atmosphere. It feels more like a spa than a doctors office! I cannot say enough good things about this dermatology practice-it is head and shoulders above the rest. I'm new to Metropolis Dermatology and I can see why people love them at their original location in downtown LA. This place is beyond beautiful - warm yet creative. You can tell someone really cares about this place. The staff are sweet and efficient. I was able to sign in using an iPad. There are food and drinks in the waiting area, which is a bonus, since I'm always scavenging for food. My interaction with the doctor was really positive - Dr. Wang was so friendly and patient. Not to mention he went to Harvard? You have to check out the sick views from the rooms, though. I went in for a medical issue, but looks like they have all the fun anti-aging stuff, skincare, and also people who do facials. Parking is easy in the building - they have this app that you download. The parking is also called Metropolis, but apparently unrelated to the derm clinic. There is also plenty of street parking on Green. Across the street from Starbucks too! read more

I came in, a little self conscious about my frown lines and the deep crevices between my eyebrows, but after seeing the results, I couldn't be happier with the Xeomin treatment I received from Jaime.
