ONE OF THE BEST METRO SYSTEMS! I've been to several metropolitan areas in my life and SD's Transit Center is extremely organized and easy to understand. The pronto machines can be a little wonky when trying to purchase a pass, however, there's always a staff member ready to help at the transit center. The staff take their jobs seriously both during small and large events. Serving as the main hub, there's a lot of people walking around here. Somehow the staff consistently keep up with the needs of the passengers. read more

So I will admit I am not a fan of this Stop. It is very centralized around a lot of places which is nice. But there is such an influx of homeless hanging out and camping out down here still. It's come along way. But still smells pretty funky along the trolley station here. Security isn't very active here which I feel like the transit security should be. Instead, I saw 7 or 8 of them in a corner talking and standing around. I personally don't feel safe at this stop. There tends to always be sketchy individuals lurking here. I feel like I need to constantly scan my surroundings when I wait for the trolley here. There is a market that's open right here which is good can grab a drink or snack, etc. The trolley runs pretty frequent. It is centered for the blue, the orange line and the Greenline. But with that being said I really do try to avoid this stop if I can for those reasons. read more

I remember when I first arrived in 2008, this area was filled up with so many homeless tents, they explained to me that it was a big shelter down here, many years later it had been cleared out and moved to another street in downtown, but still it didn't get any better, always some mental people hop on the trolley here, always some crazy looking ones walking up and down the street, I do hope they are harmless, then again this is the public transportation, I did use it several times to go to comic con as I can save money and gas to find parking, only for that occasion, and the rest, I do not want to get involved in any scenarios especially downtown read more

With the many things that I had seen was the Transit Department and the San Diego Trollies were not designed for the floor waters with the amount of Rain that came down in two Days the total of 8 Months rain that came down in Six Hours with another atmospheric River headed our way next week. From when California had lost power from Los Angeles to the International border no one was prepared and yet so many want to sue the city and charge them for the Clean Up. With the city of San Diego has been around since the start of the 1920 and early as 1905 yes, the city of San Diego has many old areas that the history of Calif is now following right behind it. With the many areas of San Diego and those of the Encanto Areas have no Trolley service with the busses will have to take on the extra work to move passengers and those that need to get through the many areas of the Orange Line and the many areas of the Blue Line that will tax the power grid and the drivers. The conditi0on of the many tracks and the station are to be determined and the use of buses will be used to get people to their destinations. As an Elite reviewer the many trains that I had to use and the constant switching over to the next trains yes there are many areas that are flooded out and the South Bound stations are being used as switch over stations and the trains that are running are the Green Line and the Blue Line are having to take on heavy passenger loads. If you leave after 5pm is arrive their early you may be standing through the good portion of the trip and the distance to wherever your station, was you will be standing. The many years that I have been ridding the trolley is the many areas of San Diego and the many people that have been affected some of the many people that have lost their cars and places to live. With the city of San Diego has declared an emergency and the federal money should help those repair and replace what has been damaged and the infrastructure for the many that have lost businesses and the places of the schools many of them were flooded out here in San Diego and the North County. There has been only one storm that was strong enough that rained so hard and tore the windows off buildings the storm of 1984 yes it rained like this one. The 12th and Imperial Transit Center were the hardest hit with water that flooded the many areas and caused water to go up into the cars and the workers had to walk through its electricity and water don't mix. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer, the many areas of the 12th and Imperial Transfer Center and bus station looked like a flood had just washed through the heart of the city and the Terminal Station was gone. After the evening the evening the flood waters in many areas still remain and the cleanup and the repairs, they are ahead with the many workers going the distance to get riders and those going to work. To the many that lost their homes and their places to live the city has emergency assistance to help with flood victims and that we must all work together instead of against each other of what I saw yesterday of the many people and the screaming. read more

Not to be confused with the Metrosexual Transit Center which is named after me. This is not the transit center that I used to come to using Greyhound, but it is the transit station that I use for the Gaslamp district and is a center hub. It's nice and the Orange Line comes in here and the Blue Line comes in here, and the only problem is that there are a lot of cockroaches - as others have said. But it's not that bad. My notes say "Met Trans" and I have met trans people many times, and loved it. Might even be joining them. read more

I made a connection onto this trolley station located just steps away from Petco Park. It was a lot busier than EATS (Euclid Ave. Trolley Station). This station also has a snack shop that looks more like a convenient store and you can make connections to the other trolley lines here. Security was out and about keeping travelers moving to and from their various destinations. The station was clean, busy with minimal waiting. read more

It's another stop that connects all the other lines... blue, green, orange. Ideally this is where you would want to get off to get to Santee, La Mesa, to Downtown. The green line that goes to San Diego State University and beyond starts and stops here. Its a good stop since there's also a convenience store where you can get some snacks and other goodies. Its pretty busy during the rush hour but it's not too bad. This will be the hub where you can go from east to North and to the South. Unfortunately the trolley does not go the West just yet but that will happen soon when the new trolley lime opens up. Overall the San Diego public transportation is getting better albeit slowly... very slowly. It's better than nothing I would say. So let's get out there and use the public transport to support our community and go green once in a while. read more

This is the only trolley station in which all lines of the San Diego Trolley stop at. If you are coming from the west on the Green Line and wanting to connect to one of the other lines before it reaches its terminus at 12th & Imperial, it would be better to change at Santa Fe Depot station. I am giving it three stars for being a transfer point for buses and trolley lines. But it isn't anything special. Area is a little sketchy. It is pretty close to Petco Park and Gaslamp. However for some reason it was swarming with transit cops scanning Compcass Cards of riders who had not even gotten onto a trolley car. Be sure to have your card or proof of payment or you might get ticketed! read more

We start at the Santee Green Line station, then at the Amaya station we change to the orange line which drops us at the 12th and Imperial Transit Center. This is the stop where the orange, blue and green lines meet. This stop is easy to negotiate and it is just a short walk to Petco Park. There is quite a bit of homeless activity so that can get a bit awkward, just don't make eye contact. I'm not sure about off days, but on Padres game days there is always plenty of security. There is also a small convenience store/snack bar that I have never ventured into. If you're catching a trolley from 12th and Imperial, this station is easy to find. It's the one with the giant clock on the side of the tower. read more

I've been using San Diego MTS every workday for the past 2 years now. Fare enforcement are absolute pigs. They are there to harass people only. I've never once seen them actually protect anyone from any manic lashout and I even stopped an old lady from getting her bag stolen because these fake cops are never near an emergency. I've forgotten my bus pass that I pay nearly $80/month (which by the way, Seattle MTS charges half the price for a better service) several times in a rush to get to work. ONCE OR TWICE did one of these lapdogs actually act like a human with integrity and recognize me from my daily commute and refrain from issuing me a ticket. Other than that, these pieces of filth have nearly given me $600 in fines that I have to now go waste a judge's time on taxpayer's dollar to clear up AND take time off work to do so. I guess EVERYONE had to lose money just to support these jack*sses They're a waste of time, money, and frankly space. Also if the busses ran until 10ish PM you'd probably get a lot more people using the bus after their evening closing shifts//to get to their graveyard shifts and you'd sell more tickets/passes. SD MTS just has its head up its ass altogether. I haven't even mentioned how difficult "customer service" is when it comes to registering your card for "loss protection" - which they MAKE SURE to not mention on their website is NOT part of regular online registration. F*ck these people. Cheers to the judge not being an idiot like these wannabe cops. read more

As far as I'm concerned you can go any where from here, If you know your bus routes and you have a pass you can seriously go any where. Hop on the blue line to the coaster, go up north blue line to green line Old Town... SDSU blue line south to the border Orange line out east #11 bus to Hillcrest, University Hieghts or Kensington #901 to Coronado or IB #11 to the greyhound station to San Franscisco or New York ...Really, go ANYWHERE I recomend keeping your valuables stowed; sketchy part of town read more

This is the only station where you can catch all three trolley lines! You can go anywhere in San Diego (that has access to the trolley) from here. You just have to be careful because the orange and blue line go from the same area. Please read what the trolley itself says because if you don't pay attention you might end up going south instead. You can also catch the green line from here too which is great. Apart from the trolleys you can also catch various buses from here including #11 which can take you to Hillcrest, The location is just perfect in my opinion. The station is just steps away from both Petco Park and the new library. I took off stars because this station does get dirty and at night it's pretty sketchy. A lot of homeless men tend to gather here which can make things uncomfortable at night. Also there just tends to be a whole lot of men ready to talk to women which is kind of a no at night. It's just creepy and a bit scary at times. If you're a fellow girl that takes the trolley (especially the blue line) I would be a little more cautious at this station. read more

This station is the headquarters of where San Diego transportation decisions, good and bad, take place. Direct tomatoes here. Petco Park is an easy walk west from here. Just a warning to everyone, when you make a transit pay attention and carefully read the sign of the destination and "Orange" "Blue" sign! I used this trolley station on the way and back from Comic Con at Convention Center. After all day of walking around in huge area, my family and I were so tired, wanted to go home and lay down, we just hopped on the first train came into the station. Few minutes later, we realized we got on the wrong train... then everyone around us told us they have done that too once! Yeah so it's not we're the only one, it's just so darn hard to read the sign! Be careful to not catch wrong train, or you'll end up turning back in not so great neighborhood! read more

The 12th & Imperial Transit Center should be the best one out of all stations since it's the center hub! It's close to Petco Park and not to far from the Gaslamp district. It has paid parking, which is a bummer. The best part is you can catch all 3 trolley lines here. Sadly, the area isn't that great and it is very congested. With all the traffic this station sees, I would expect it to be more spacious and updated, but it's not and for that, it just gets the a-ok. read more

As far as trolley stations go this location is pretty good. First off its an easy walk from the Gaslamp, you can get to anywhere from any public transit method from here pretty much as it connects with tons of lines and routes being a transfer station and it is newer, meaning its easier to maintain. However because of its location expect there to be a constant stream of riff raff, litter and other safety concerns. But if keep your belongings in sight and stay in well lit areas and access this station carefully at night (limiting to day use is obviously safer) you should be fine. The park and ride options here are so-so. Sure it exists, but calling an exposed unsecured (sorry 3 foot chain link is a terrible security system) poorly lit unattended parking lot in a more "urban" area safe and secure is a far cry. I wouldnt feel comfortable parking a vehicle in this lot, Id rather use a further park and ride and take the extra time on the trolley knowing full well that my vehicle will be safe and be there when I return rather than convenience. But aside from that its A-Ok. read more
