Has the opportunity to see some familiar faces and make light convo with some new ones (that's not an everyday thing for me). There's the occasional crazy, but that's no indictment on Metro; they render service to EVERYONE! Every interaction I've had with a metro staff person has been beyond professional and super satisfactory. I continue to be thoroughly surprised each time. The trains are clean 90% of the time. There's always some jerk who ignores the no drinking or eating rule and leaves an entire pizza box on the seat. Metro is good about cleaning things up and keeping everyone experience as pleasant as possible. I'll continue to use the light rail, and really recommend it for any commuter.

This place is really cool and I think they should offer tours for it because a lot more people are interested in trains than you would think. Well me anyway. Maybe I'm just weird. Unfortunately stepping onto their property counts as trespassing and they're very eager to let you know that. Maybe because this is a low-income area. Just in time for me to move out of the city unfortunately. This station is nice and clean, and easy to access for passengers and pedestrians. Having the train right in the middle of the road really disrupts the traffic though, so that's the reason why these stations don't usually get more than a 3 from me.

The platform has a little bit of cover from rain. There is a visual board with the current time and the audible announcement of the next train gives about one minute's warning. Tickets are $1.25 and you do not want to try to ride without purchasing one or tapping your multi-ride card. I rode the Metro four or five times and each time, there was a fare checker on board. This is an *interesting* part of town. Expect at least a couple of people to ask you for money.

I tried hard to take the Purple Line to Minute Maid Park but this station was packed and the train…read morewas much delayed by the street traffic. Unlike my experience on the Red Line, the Purple shares a lane of traffic in each direction with cars and on a busy day as it was today, the train does not get you there any faster than simply walking. The station is a side platform on Capitol Street on Rusk Street between Fannin Street and San Jacinto Street. It is between Theater District (westbound) and Convention District (eastbound, towards Palm Center). The station has automated ticket kiosks and an overhead visual announcement for the next train. I didn't stick around long enough to wait for the audio as I had a baseball game to see!
