First of all great job by Drew for cutting down my tree yesterday in the massive heat. Did excellent job, and the rest of the crew did a great job with picking up the brush and tree limbs. Was amazed on how fast and efficient it went, what machinery and equipment they use, they go above and beyond with their work and making your property look like it was never ever touched by a tree crew!! Was expecting for it to be a little bit more pricey than the rest of the other quotes, but nope Meurer Bros. came through. We are big fans of Meurer Brothers! They have taken care of trees on our property twice now. We have many older trees and we like to maintain them so that we can enjoy their shade and beauty. We don't want to worry about falling limbs causing damage to our property or our neighbor's property. The first job was on a sweet gum tree that is around 50 years old. A rather large limb had fallen and carpenter ants were present. An arborist came out from Meurer Brothers, identified how to save the tree. They then sent a team of very polite and professional tree trimmers to complete the job. At this appointment they also worked on a cedar for us. The second job was a bit trickier. We had a different sweet gum that was growing into our neighbor's electrical drop. This was complicated by additional service lines in the area. The tree had also been chopped up by ameren's crew over the years. Again, a very professional crew showed up. They met beforehand and decided the best plan. The job was done quickly and cleaned up well. A couple of things to note that makes them different: Their equipment does not tear up the yard. Their team doesn't yell or cuss and make a fuss while they are working. They are polite and always speak to me with respect. They clean the yard thoroughly. They communicate with each other well and know what the other team members are doing. Yes, they cost a little more, but it is only a little, and it is worth it to us for the peace of mind that comes from hiring a professional. read more

Professionalism personified! Highly recommend this company. From the 6-person team working all day to take down 7 extra large trees (over 100' tall), equipment used, care for customer's property, and responsiveness to spur-of-the-moment customer requests Meurer Brothers provided absolutely superior service and results. A 40' x 36' barn prevented direct access to 5 of the trees, so their removal had to be accomplished working OVER this building. (Access only available on east side, trees were on the west side, and terrain and wooded-area constraints prevented going around the barn.) The team had the equipment, knowledge and skill to make this possible. Meurer Brothers employed heavy, tracked and wheeled equipment to access the other trees and remove the debris. Because of their utmost care and awareness, at the end of the day, you couldn't even tell there was equipment traversing across the lawn throughout the day. And clean-up was meticulous. Not even a trace of a leaf or twig. Team members were uniformed, polite and courteous, taking obvious pride in their work and professionalism. We're very happy. They came out and looked at our unique situation. We have a Japanese Maple growing over the eaves of the house and a spruce which is unfortunately too close to the garage. They were able to do a contactless quote for removal of both trees and left the paperwork in our mailbox to sign. The work they have done for me has always been outstanding. Just recently they trimmed the trees in the front of our house & cut down two trees that were starting to die. BEWARE, this company will try to dig as deep in your pockets as they can. I honestly dont know how they have as many good reviews as they do. When we first reached out for a quote on tree removal (notably difficult placement/size) one of the owners came out and gave a verbal quote of $15k! I couldn't believe it. Within the same week we received a quote from a different company for $4k, and later that week we had a paper quote from Meurer Brothers for $5,200. This seemed much more in line so we thought the verbal was a mistake. Fast forward some months we are in the new year and I asked if the quote we received last year was still good or if they would need to re-quote. I was told it was good and made an email agreement to the quote to have us put on the schedule. Day before our tree was supposed to come down some issues popped up that I needed clarification on (the original owner who verbalized $15k last fall came out and was saying we should be charged at least $12k). Now I'm being told the previous quote was no good because it was a "winter quote" (there is no such thing, I have arborists in my family -- nice try though) and we would either have to get the tree taken down in the winter or get a new quote, presumably for the ridiculous price of $12k. Long story short, they are severely overcharging people in the area and will go back on their mistaken quotes ("because the guy was new") to try to get your money. read more

Meurer Brothers Inc. was hired by our property manager to cut a single tree down in the backyard of our O'Fallon house. The year prior they gave an estimate of $1500 to do the same job. At that time, our property manager hired them to cut only a broken branch down for $200. In 2019, we decided to remove the whole tree. Meurer Brothers Inc. charged us $2350 to remove the same tree the estimated $1500 to remove the year prior. Our property manager failed because they did not get a new estimate on our behalf from Meurer Bros. The property manager went on good faith that Meurer Brother Inc would honor or at lease be 'close' to the original estimate. Nothing changed about the tree other than another branch had broken off in a wind storm. Meurer Brother Inc. stated that they a fence was in the way as the reason for the increased price. On the phone they said that the tree was 'brittle' and so it cost more to remove. B.S. That same fence was there the year prior when they gave the $1500 estimate. As for being brittle!? Wow. Just wow. There was NO reason for them to charge $850 more. They took advantage of this being a rental house and thought they could charge whatever they wanted. We will NOT use them again for any tree work and suggest you get other estimates before using this company. They offered us $350 back or to remove the stump for that cost. I had 3 estimates to remove the stump, all were under $150. read more

I wish I could give more than 5 stars for the amazing job the Meurer Brothers did on my trees! They were so efficient and professional. They took down six trees, trimmed 5 more, and had everything cleaned up and taken away in about two hours! I couldn't believe it. The bid they gave me could not be beat! Sherry in the office was very accommodating and so kind. The stump removers came out later and I have had people knock on my door to ask who did such a great job with my stumps. They did a great job cutting down my big maple tree that was rotting, and then grinding down the stump. They also cleaned out my gutters while they were on the roof which was a very pleasant surprise. I had them trim the same tree a couple years ago. I've never met anyone either time, because I was always at work when they came, but everyone I've talked to has been very nice. I would hire them again, but I have no trees left except one that's just four feet tall, so someday ..... read more

We've used other tree service companies before and were happy, but Meurer Bros' has gone above and beyond both times that we used them. The first time, Josh determined that our magnolia was in good health and therefore only needed a good trim (saved money and a beautiful tree!). The second time, Josh and the crew removed two big trees from the side of our garage in no time and cleaned up everything. Some big limbs hovered right over the garage roof, but not to worry...the crew carefully removed in pieces without incident. I wanted help for my two young pin-oak trees that are sickly. I described the problem in detail to the lady that answered the phone. She said that she would send someone out but the consultation was $40. I asked if this could be applied to the treatment, she said yes. So the dude comes out and says your trees are going to die. He was in my yard less than 5 minutes. Then I get the bill for $40. What a joke. read more
