I called them at 7:40 am. They said 7 minutes. I waited until 8:10, calling every 10 minutes. The dispatcher kept saying "1 minute, he's in traffic." What traffic is there in residential Brooklyn??? I was late to work. I recommend Eastern Cab instead. I will NEVER use these guys again. read more

He told me in such a nasty tone that the car left. I told him that I have been waiting outside the whole time and no car came. Always show up in 5-10 minutes. Most drivers have been super courteous. I also have a dog and as long as I let them know that on the phone, they have no issue sending a dog-friendly car. I see a lot of complaints about them being late... but I have never had that problem. Full disclosure: I live a 15 minute walk south of their office, so that may impact how fast they get to me. read more

I've lived in Brooklyn for over 20 years and have used many different car services. Since I live less than a block away from Mex Express, I have given them more than a fair amount of chances but they have CONSISTENTLY provided the WORST SERVICE EVER! Once, at 4 am, my daughter who was then around 10, had to go to the ER and was extremely weak from dehydration (had been throwing up a lot) and it was very cold out. I called and they said 5 minutes after 10 mins. and many calls (and they knew that our destination was the ER!) we just walked over there and found 5 drivers just hanging out! I asked the dispatcher what had happened. No explanation or apology just simply okay, go with that guy!!! That is just one of NUMEROUS bad experiences with them. To be fair, I feel the dispatchers are the main problem, not the drivers. Save your time and take any other car service because none of them are as bad as Mex Express. read more

Awful service terrible people behind the phones/answering the phones. Most of the driver are cool but I had the unfortunate of having one driver who was an absolute nightmare. I am a local resident of Ditmas Park, who has used this car service several times for trips to and from JFK. I am writing to inform everyone why I will no longer be using this car service, in the hopes that this business will change for the better in the future. On the last two occasions that I was driving in their cars, with two separate drivers, I was exposed to disparaging remarks about African Americans. In both instances, the remarks were brought up in conversation without my prompting or encouragement. Multiple racist slurs were made regarding how "black people are all drug dealers", "have bad attitudes because that's just their nature", and "are just no good." I could go on and on. I tried my best to redirect the conversations and suggest to the drivers that not all black people are bad, just like not all Latinos or people of Middle Eastern descent (etc.) are bad. No person can be expected to represent their entire race. Alas, my attempts were ignored, and I felt very uncomfortable being forced to listen to racist statements. I am a white woman, and I have many wonderful close friends and colleagues who are African-American. My partner is also black. I felt deeply offended and disrespected during these car trips. I will not be using their car service in the future. I would like to think that these drivers are an exception, and racist language is not the type of behavior that M-Express Car Service encourages. I am writing to let you all know of my experience, as until something changes, this business should not be supported. read more

The first couple of times I called after moving into the neighborhood, it kinda freaked me out that they weren't black livery cars, but like what seemed to be a mexican dude's regular car. However they're super nice, cheaper than everyone else and get to me FAST. Once you get past the black car thing, you'll never look back! read more

I tried to use this car service to get home from work at the same time every Tuesday and Thursday. First couple of times was ok, and thereafter the price changed with every new driver. After asking one of the drivers to call the dispatcher to confirm the price, ON SPEAKERPHONE I heard him state a price, then change it when the driver hesitated. Their office is very close to where I live and I've used them often. When I walk to their place there is always a driver available. When I have called for a car, they are always on time. Mex Express is my first choice when looking for a Black Car. read more

After some very bad experiences with La Mexicana, I found Mex Express. Hooray! They are reliable, courteous, and affordable.

Hands-down the best car service I have used in New York. Drivers are consistently on-time (if not early), courteous, and respectful. And they're generally good/safe drivers, too. Rates are affordable ($35 from central Brooklyn to JFK). At one point this summer I was in a bind when a friend who had offered to drive us to the Cherry Grove/Fire Island ferry terminal wasn't able to do so at the last minute. I called Mex Express at 2am and they quickly made arrangements to have a six passenger van come pick us up at 7am. The driver was great - he patiently helped us pack up our week's worth of stuff in the van, picked up our friends from a different neighborhood, and drove us in good spirits all the way out to Long Island. I am so grateful to have such reliable car service option in the neighborhood. Highly recommended. read more

I've been dealing with mex cars for a while and i can honestly say IM GOING BACK TO UBER. First i got charged extra for a ride i take every other day. Then the driver has the nerve to tell me im paying extra for gas as if i dont know the price. So the driver says its a 35 min ride which is bull because its only 18 mins and 6.3 miles away. So as the driver is arguing with me because im trying to understand why he got on the belt.Now if i was a man he wouldn't have argued with me. Smh I've been with mex for years and i can officially say im done. For anyone using this car company REQUEST A SPANISH DRIVER. OR JUST DONT USE THEM. I'm very disappointed. I've used Mex Express a handful of times and have had some good experiences. However I have now had two rides in unlicensed vehicles. Both times I didn't realize it until 3/4 of the way through the ride when it was too late to do anything about it. If I wanted an unlicensed, potentially unsafe ride, I would hitchhike! If you don't have a car for me, tell me so on the phone instead of sending an unlicensed car. I won't be using Mex Express again. Next time I will stick with Legends or Dial 7 even if they're not based in my neighborhood. read more

I have been using Mex Express for years. I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews. When I call they pick me up in less than five minutes. In fact, if I call for a cab, I call once I am ready because I know they will be ready to pick me up in five minutes. I have bad knees and have asked that they send low cars, to accommodate my mobility issues, they already know this and have noted this so when I call, they accommodate me. Their prices are not expensive and I have found their dispatchers and drivers to be pleasant and professional. I often wonder why everyone is taking Uber when there is a local car service available like Mex Express. I use them to go to the airport, Penn station, Downtown Brooklyn etc. read more

I called them and I was asking about the price. I called other car service and they didn't seem to have a problem with telling me the price to their car services. But when I called this car service it was crazy loud in the background and when I try to politely ask "how much is it to take this service from 23rd....." And he cut me off and said something I said "sorry?" Trying to be polite and he yelled "WHERE ARE YOU?!" I said "23rd avenue 86....." And he put me on hold. I swear if he's so tired of this job quit! I'm SO done with Mex Express! At least half the time I call the dispatcher hangs up before I can finish asking prices or something. They quote "5 minutes" and it's always closer to 15. The prices change depending on the driver, so nothing's consistent except their poor service. One of the drivers drives like an old lady who can barely see, and almost crashed, then blamed the other car. She had no defensive driving skills. But today the dispatch said 10 minutes and that was almost 40 minutes ago. I called to check on it and the phone rang and rang. I got through and he said two more minutes. Again, that was almost 30 minutes ago. I missed a very important meeting! The cab still hasn't shown up. I'm using Juniors only from now on. read more

my family has used mex express for years. recently due to an emergency i called them to arrange a ride from brooklyn to JFK. Asked to use my credit card since rider had problems with atm machine and cash. Mex said that they would not take a credit card, "machine is broken", then "never take credit cards", and were generally discourteous. They have lost my family's business (about 30 trips for them a year to LGA and JFK, and returns, and numerous local trips). Come out of the dark ages, mex express. Let me know when your attitude to a customer changes. read more

It's been a few years and they are still consistent. This is the only car service I use. Sure, I could take Airtran to JFK, but, I'm too impatient for that. And who wants to take the train to Astoria and then hop on a bus to LGA? Again, not me. A cab or Uber will cost you more. The rates are pretty cheap to get around Brooklyn as well. So, again, I highly recommend Mex Express. They are efficient and the drivers are nice and know their way around. They will quote you a price when you call and the drivers show up in 5-7 minutes. (And when the dispatcher tells you that, he's serious). Sold! read more

Not sure why so many low ratings. I don't use car services a lot, usually only when I need to bring my pets to the doctor, but each time I do need a car, I've called Mex Express. The drivers are always on time, personable, and very safe on the road. Today, my driver actually removed my cats from the car and brought them to the location for me! They are also pretty reasonably priced. I think they're great and will continue to spread the word about their services. read more

I've been using Mex Express for a few years. Usually they are reliable, even though "5 minutes" to pick me up usually means 7-10. One morning I had a terrible experience with them. I hate to be the person who only points out the negative, but it was so bad! I called around 6:30 am. They said they'd get to me in "3 minutes". Setting the bar too high to begin with! I waited about 12 minutes, called and he rushed me off the phone to say "He's coming". Another 10 minutes. Nothing. I called again, "2 minutes, he's really close". Another 10 minutes. Nothing. At this point, it's been over 30 minutes. I missed my morning client and had to cancel. I called back to ask "why do you say that if you don't really know if the driver is close?" If something happened, I could maybe understand and I could make other plans. But he hung up on me. This is the second time they've blown me off and I've missed or been very late to work. On the upside, most of their drivers are nice. Dispatch usually isn't. read more

They lack customer service and don't appreciate their loyal customers at all. Monday June 22, 2015 at 4:21 I called for a cab, the dispatcher said that it will be there in 10 minutes... The cab never made it. At 4:53pm the driver called me to let me know that he is here. I asked him where, since I have been waiting outside for him since 4:30. It turns out that the dispatcher sent the car to the wrong address then blame it on me instead of apologizing for his mistakes. He rudely lied and argued with me. I have always used this Cab service but I think that this is coming to an end unless they teach some manners to this dispatcher. Wrong I'm standing outside at 5 called the back ten minutes later then ten after that...you see the pattern. Horrible! I called at 2:30pm to get a car, the dispatcher got my address wrong TWICE! He tells me 7 mins i didnt get into my car until almost 3pm. During my wait (in the rain) i called twice and the first time it just rang and then second time was when i found out i got my address wrong. There needs to be a better way to get to a customer in a timely manner. Normally i wouldnt care but i had work at 3pm and i was so late. Never again! The trains are faster than this! I would have sacrificed getting a cold taling the train than being late! read more
