If you want great looking custom side gates for a great price, you have to talk to Gustavo at Mex Iron Artwork. We found a design that we liked and received quotes from 3 shops. Gustavo blew the other shops out of the water. Then he was very professional and kept me in the loop through the whole process. He did a great job on building the gates and they look amazing, even better than the pic on his website. We are extremely happy and would definitely use and refer him.
This company did a great job installing a handrail for our outdoor stairs. The price was reasonable and they were on time and very responsive via text. I would definitely recommend their services.

We showed Gustavo a picture of what we wanted and he was able to quote us on a great price! Gustavo was very thorough, he took precise measurements. The gates came right on time! Gus just came to do my front gate. I requested just a basic design front gate and when I saw the gate in person, I'm shocked at how beautiful it looks. Gus installed it very carefully. He paid attention to every single little details. He even dusted and painted all the screws after he finished! Overall I'm very very happy with my new front gate and will definitely contact him for future projects. Highly recommended!

Wow!!!! From Start to Finish Gus was timely, professional, friendly and quite the iron artist. After a few things missing from my yard we decided to put up a fence and door. Gis quoted 4 week turn around time and deliver in about 3 weeks. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was refreshing. Quite the find!!!!!
We contracted Gustavo for our side gate a couple of weeks ago. Prior to reaching out to him, my husband and I got a quote from other vendor and we thought the price was way too high. I called Gustavo and asked for an estimate and just by a couple of texting back and forth, he was able to provide me a quote over the phone. I was very pleased that his price was over 2,000 less than the first guy wanted to charge us. The initial contact with him also assured me that Gustavo has done enough jobs that the pricing the projects come out so naturally to him as opposed to the first vendor (he took 2 days to get back to us and pricing was way off. We did our research beforehand, so we weren't too naive to not know how much of a project we were looking for). We asked Gustavo to see where we'd like to install the gate in-person and after measuring the dimension, etc. On the day of first meet-up, he was on-time and professional throughout the process. Very humble and more than anything he lived up with his initial quote, so we proceeded. The lead time he told me was 2-weeks and I thought it was actually pretty good, considering that the gate we asked him to create was rather a large two-door gate (4' and 7' each). After all, he was able to deliver it on the 10th day - a very impressive lead time. My husband and I are very pleased with how smooth the process was and the quality of his craftsmanship. The gate came out just as I envisioned. It really compliments the house and concrete pattern we have where the gate was installed. Not only is our new gate beautiful and well-presented, it is also very functional. Opening, closing, and locking are smooth (very critical, when you have two overly-excited German shepherds pulling you as you open the gate to go for a walk!). Highly recommend him for Fontana community members who are looking for quality, custom-made gates. I'm certain that Gustavo will make your dream come true!

Beautiful work; I appreciate Gustavo's care in creating both my gates with the detailed workmanship I expected, he matched everything EXACTLY; Design, Hinge and Paint Color. Quote was comparable, I chose him based on reviews, timely response to initial call, his promised quote; very courteous and understanding. Also, on day of install, they arrived on time and by methodical nature both my beautiful gates were installed like he truly enjoys his craft! Thank you! read more

I had a fence with wood in the middle and we wanted to replace it to match the other gates. I had many quotes and everyone else stated that they would have to remove the fence and take it with them. However, Gustavo stated that he would make the design at his shop and come back and weld it in. I was a little reluctant at the beginning but after talking with him I could see he was a confident man. And wow!, he nailed it! It turned out beautiful and identical to the other gate. In addition he painted along with the other gate to match. I should also mention that he realigned our other gate at no charge as it was not closing correctly. Gustavo even provided some paint samples and we finally decided on flat black. Gustavo is a gem! A true craftsman that is also timely and honest which is very hard to find today... he's just a great guy!!! read more

I needed a small iron gate to be made for an opening between my building and the neighbor's building. I found this company on yelp and called to schedule an on-site meeting. He was on time, gave me a quote, I sent him a proposed design, and then he sent me a sketch. Once I approved his sketch, he began working on my gate and then installed it in a timely fashion. Very easy to work with and reliable. Would definitely recommend! read more

Mex Art came to my house and personally gave me a great quote. His price was spot-on and I received an absolute great product. Gus is a really nice guy and he communicates very well with his customers. Gus called me to give me updates on my project and he scheduled the installation so that I'd be there to inspect the finished project. I would recommend Mex Art to all since he deserves the business. I wish I had a before picture of my gate to show how great it turned out when Gustavo was done with it. Long story short we needed to change our side gate bc the backyard was way to visible and we wanted more privacy. I contacted a couple other vendors but we ultimately went with Mex Iron due to the reasonable pricing and also because we liked the pictures of the work he's done. For our gate we used the existing iron which saved us money bc it prevented from having to build something from scratch. The project took 9 days to finish and the finished product was worth the wait. Now where Gustavo really stands out is the fact that he took the extra time and detail to make sure our gate was perfect. We had wanted the center design from the door of our original gate to go on the new one. It was a scroll design with a square border. Gustavo took that and when he realized that the square border didn't look good he went ahead and removed it, cleaned up the scroll work and added the new improved version on the gate. It turned out so much better and I'm so glad he took the time to do what he did. I would highly recommend Mex Iron Works. My neighbor was so impressed he took down Gustavo's contact information too. Gustavo came to our home and provided a free quote for the side gate and rear fence where I requested an access gate. Gustavo followed up promptly with a text and quote that same day. Unfortunately we had to hold off on the side gate and focus finishing the backyard area first. I called Gustavo and explained the situation and he provided a second quote for just the back entry fence. He said he was quite busy and next available date would be in approximately 3-4 weeks. I agreed to the quote and asked him to put us on his schedule. I asked Gustavo "do you need a deposit ?" Gustavo replied not necessary you may pay when the job is done. I said ok let me know when the installation date is going to be. That same day Gustavo text me with the date and time he would come out. To my happy surprise Gustavo called on Thursday April 8 and said he had a client re-schedule for this coming Saturday April 10 and asked if he could come out this Saturday April 10 at 10 am. I said yes of course. Gustavo and his helper showed up at 10 am with all tools and materials needed for the job. Gustavo placed a large work cloth on the cement floor and that is where he cut and welded the fence. The fence gate came out fantastic. I wanted the gate to closely match the existing fence, and that is exactly what Gustavo delivered. attached are some before and after pictures. We will most definitely be asking Gustavo to come back and custom build the side gate in the near future. Thank you Gustavo for making this part of our backyard transformation smooth and easy. read more

I checked Yelp to find a good company to make a side gate for my house. I saw great reviews for Gustavo at Mex Iron Artwork and really liked his work that was displayed. I picked a gate in one of the photos I saw and ordered it after communicating with him. It was ready earlier than he estimated and came to install it, only taking a couple of hours. It was beautiful!! It looks well made, sturdy and classy. Gustavo was very easy to communicate with, friendly, professional and very dependable. Very HAPPY with my fireplace gate!!! It did take awhile for them to come out and measure because they have been busy but that was ok. They said about 3 weeks to make and it was ready and installed at about 2 weeks. I would definitely recommend the company. read more
