The MCS Iron Works team were professional, and true artists when it comes to fabricating iron gates. I contacted 3 different vendors from Yelp to help us put in a small pedestrian gate for our side yard (which didn't exist before). Only two vendors called us back and one of them was MCS. Manuel and his team contacted us right away by phone, scheduled a time to come out and gave us a quote. They were prompt and polite and clear with their fee quotes so it was no surprise that we ended up going with them. They were also really transparent about how busy they were and what the timeline would be for our project. (So please consider that when planning for your project.) We needed to create a small pedestrian gate on our cinder block wall to our side yard. There was already an existing driveway gate but no way to enter the yard without opening the entire driveway gate. MCS measured and designed the pedestrian gate with the "knuckles". They were able to locate the oak leaf and acorn decorative design as well and they closely matched the paint color to our existing driveway gate. Also, you can tell the MCS team was very careful in laying out the decorative leaf/acorn design to ensure it was centered and aesthetically pleasing. (That is really the mark of a true craftsman who takes pride in their work.) Even though we made some minor changes here and there before the final fabrication, they were always very receptive and accommodating. They made recommendations on which doorknob to pick out. Their crew were also very respectful of our property. They were prompt in arriving when they said they would to perform the work. They cleaned up any debris when they were finished. (Not all vendors are conscientious about keeping their work space clean after they finish their projects.) The results (see photos) are amazing. Even though our pink cinder block wall was leaning due to decades of disrepair and probably earthquake settling they installed the gate securely and ensured it was plumb. (We've already reached out to them for another quote to replace the pink cinder block wall in the future.) They also took time to explain to us what they did and why they did it. I'm so glad that we went with MCS and I'm especially glad we were able to support a local, family owned business. We are very happy with our gate. Even though it was a small project, we never felt like our job was too small for them. MCS made us feel like we were their number one customer!
