    Sweet potato burrito
    Shreya S.

INCREDIBLE BURRITOS AT INCREDIBLE PRICES!!! Ridiculously tasty flavor combos and it's all so filling. My constant order is the small Sweet Potato Burrito. It's $4, bursting with flavor, and very very filling. Also, they will kindly replace the cheese for sour cream at no extra cost if you prefer that. Do note that you can't have multiple salsas though. Personally I suggest the mild one, it's basically pico de gallo. Overall, there are lots of vegetarian options, lots of non vegetarian options, and they grill every burrito to perfection. Also Jane and her husband are so sweet. Cash only. Definitely come eat here!! Me and all of my friends are addicted.

The Mexicali food truck is back. It's back, people. Oh, do you prefer the abundant burrito chains in West Philly? I'm sorry... do you even have taste buds? This place has a seriously creative menu. I'm a vegan and I can appreciate the incredibly long list of veg-friendly options (just hold the cheese to make them vegan). Today, on their grand re-opening day, I tried the new "Tofu Verde" burrito for $5. Everything on it is quality. From the deliciously fresh and soft tortilla, to the chewy marinated tofu, to the cilantro and onion, to the slow cooked wonderfully spiced beans. I inhaled it although the initial plan was to save half for later. My bad. But so worth it. I also highly recommend anything with sweet potatoes or guacamole. The vegetarian tacos are wonderfully spicy, packed with tofu and sweet potatoes and a great deal at $5.

SO delicious, and so filling!! I guess you should expect that from a food truck, but the price you pay for a huge meal is unbeatable. I love the owners, both of whom are extremely polite and are patient when you're choosing something. The burritos are HUGE--much bigger than Chipotle's, and much more hearty. True, you can't really pick your ingredients, but you can add-on. You can even substitute your rice & beans for hash browns, and they offer brown rice and whole wheat tortillas for a healthier option. The vegetarian options are what strike me the most; I have tried both the red pepper burrito for $4 and the tofu verde burrito for $5, and I don't even miss the meat when I eat them. The meat burritos range from $5-$6, so they are also very affordable, and I'm sure delicious as well. If I'm ever craving a burrito, I'm coming here over any other mexican food truck or Chipotle! The bowls are a little meager compared to the freshness of Chipotle's offerings, so definitely stick with the quesadillas and burritos, as the owners heat the tortillas to perfection.Actually, all of their food seems to lack fresh tomatoes, corn, and lettuce, but if you're looking for a nice warm comforting burrito, you shouldn't care that much about fresh vegetables anyway.

Vegetarian soft tacos (sweet potatoes + tofu + additional chorizo)

A food truck that provides Mexican food at a great value! They have a really creative menu and lots of different options. You can choose from a quesadilla to a burrito or a soft taco. You can also get a burrito platter, no tortilla. I tried the vegetarian soft tacos which were made with mashed sweet potatoes and tofu. For $5, I got 2 soft tacos and a side of rice. You also get the option of mild, medium, or hot sauces on your burritos and tacos. I chose the medium but I thought it was barely spicy. Next time I'm definitely trying the hot sauce to get the extra kick. I thought the tacos were good, but they weren't anything amazing. They lacked flavor and were kind of bland. But the rice was a nice addition to the meal! I'm definitely coming here to satisfy my Mexican food cravings since it's so conveniently located by campus. It's an easy pickup and go!

Great food for a great deal!! Can't beat a $5 burrito. Also, a great way for students to avoid the chipotle line!

Good food, bad service. They don't accommodate at all. No substitutions. No changes. To me, that's annoying

I graduated from college years ago, but I visited campus recently and had to check out how my…read morefavorite lunch spot was doing. I was surprised to see what was once a minimalistic metal cart had upgraded into a shiny red truck! The old phone number I had saved still worked to make an advance order, and when I showed up and took a photo of the new truck, the guy inside said, "been a while since you were here?" Been a while indeed. My spice tolerance has improved a lot since my first review; by the end of college I was getting medium instead of mild, which I also got this most recent time, but I think I can actually handle spicy now and will make a note to do that next time. The burrito is still the best I've ever had, and that includes what I ate in the Mission of SF. An absolutely enormous portion with juicy meat, cheese, salsa, pico, lettuce, rice, beans, and even a generous helping of avocado. And the tortilla is seared on the grill just right, giving it an extra crisp while sealing the whole package together. Not many burritos have all the details down so perfectly like that. Anyone who works or studies near Tacos Don Memo is lucky to have such an authentic, delicious, and affordable Mexican lunch spot around. They've been around for a while and I hope they will be for a while more!

Chicken burrito (3.5/5) I wanted to love this burrito since I've heard such good things about this food truck. The burrito was delicious but I felt like it needed way more sauce for its size. I also got the "hot" sauce and didn't taste anything spicy at all in it. the chicken was great and the flavor was good overall but it was definitely on the drier side. If i come again I'll try a burrito bowl if possible instead, and i'll definitely try to order online or call ahead instead of waiting 30 minutes again

As soon as I opened my plate, I was so disappointed that I lost my appetite. The rice was flavorless, the beans tasted like they came from a can, and the lettuce had no seasoning and had a terrible cheese on top of it. The meat was tough and flavorless, and I spent a good minute chewing because it was so hard. It was the worst $15 I've ever spent--I wouldn't even pay $2 for that meal. Terrible! If you're going to carry the name "Brazilian" on your food truck, PLEASE do it right. Even if it wasn't supposed to be Brazilian, it was still a terrible meal. On top of that, I waited more than 20 minutes for it to be made, along with several other people who were also complaining about the wait time. I will never get anything from this food truck again and do not recommend it to anyone.

Super friendly…read more I came across Tang's during my usual stake out of food trucks during lunch hour and decided to order a beef and broccoli over brown rice. What I was expecting was the run of the mill Chinese take out version of beef and broccoli: semi tough beef and overcooked broccoli swimming in grease and a large quantity of brown sauce. To my great delight what I got was the complete opposite - the beef was tender and the broccoli was a lively green and incredibly fresh. There was a light and just right amount of sauce and great helping of chili oil. The lady running the truck is so friendly, welcoming & nice (a stark contrast to the lady at Yue Kee). The wait is short and the prices are impressively cheap. Looking forward to coming back and trying the other items on their expansive menu!

I tried Tang's tofu with garlic/curry on brown rice…read more The best part is that the dish included a substantial serving of real vegetables. There was carrot, broccoli, cabbage, celery, and a bit of onion and green pepper (1 slice). There were 8 pieces of fried tofu in an extremely mild and not very flavourful "curry" sauce. Brown rice option comes at no extra cost. ($3.50) This seems to be one of the better options for Chinese food on campus. There's plenty of vegetables, it's not especially greasy. While the food wasn't particularly flavourful, it was fairly good clean food with a good helping of vegetables.

It used to be across from Ucross next to lucky star but with the new renovations it's been kicked off to the curb next to the volleyball courts parked alongside happy sunshine. There's graffiti all over the exterior at times or the paint's a little chipped. Trust me the food makes up for it. The hours they are open are very strange. While most food trucks close around 3pm they stay around during the evening. Sometimes when I come home from a night out I still see them open at around 11pm!! Really bizarre. But it adds to their charm. It's own by a couple. And this couple has never changed their prices. Which I have always been thankful for.
