This review is for takeout - these tacos were delicious! My bf & I got the carnitas, tripitas, and cabeza - I highly recommend the cabeza, it was so tender, juicy, and flavorful! The salsa that it came with was DELICIOUS and bright, not super spicy by any means. $12 for 3 tacos & they were nice and filling! Would recommend!! read more

Food: The pastor tacos here are awesome. These are the best pastor tacos I've had In Philadelphia. For $3 per taco, it's very value as it comes with avocado and is pretty large for its size. I will be coming back here for my future pastor taco needs. Went around 5:30pm on a Saturday night. One other person in line. Waited about 10 minutes for our 5 tacos. These tacos are still just as good as all the other times I've eaten here. We ordered 2 El pastor and 3 beef tongue. El pastor tacos are Still my all time favorite. read more

Everyone's got a taco truck they swear by, but very few have tripe, and even fewer put cheese on their tacos. Enter Tacos El Rodeo. Stopped by here on a remote work day (for legal reasons, during my lunch break) and opted for my safe bet when gauging a place: steak tacos and a jarrito soda to wash it down. She told me it would be a 10 minute wait and it ended up only being about half that. Steak was juicy and flavorful and I appreciate that they didn't dump a week's worth of cilantro and onion on it. Side salsas were tasty and spicy, but the melted cheese in the taco was the kicker. So few places do this and I don't know why. I know it's not tRaDiTiOnaL, but cheese makes everything better, let's be honest. It was pretty pricy for three tacos and a drink but I imagine that's just good ole' inflation these days (I don't get out much). read more

The food here is amazing! Whenever i crave street tacos they're my first stop. The truck is usually closed on Mondays but is there the other days. I'm not so sure about Tuesdays. The lady taking the orders is nice and friendly and you may also call them in advance to order and it's ready when you get there. I would recommend this spot to anyone and everyone. read more

They are open from Tuesday-Saturday along Washington Ave! Aside from other taco spots around the area, this Taco Truck has NOT let me down yet. I am a HUGE fan of their Chicken Burrito and Chicken Quesadilla, my girlfriend loves the Steak Tacos and their Fruit Juice (which you have to ask for, usually Cantaloupe is the flavor they have). Their protein is not overcooked, the food comes out nice and hot and even on their busiest day, the wait is usually no longer than 20 minutes. They do have a phone that you can place an order ahead of time but from past experience, their phone line usually breaks up a lot (may be different now). read more

Solid tacos in the city. I finally decided to check this place out as I've seen this a dozen of times and there's usually a good amount of people in line. We got both an order of tacos and a burrito. The tacos are by far the better choice. I like the fact that it comes with avocado. Fresh toppings and meat is tasty - got the al pastor. $2/ very tasty taco, open late, friendly service ~ what more is there to ask for! My friend has been telling me about this truck for at least a year now and now that I've finally tried it, I crave it all the time. Good thing I'm really close to here and can fulfill my cravings all the time =) I've only tried the tacos here. There are 3 different kinds: chicken, beef and pork (the big spinning thing when you peek inside the truck). Everyone I know has a different favorite! Mine is the beef! But for $2 .. why not just try them all and pick your own favorite. They also come with 2 different sauces: a green and an orange. I think the green is the spicy one but both is good so just mix them! The tacos also comes out pretty quickly so why not grab some why you wait for the 10th street bus. **CASH ONLY** No chairs or tables but there are parking stumps that everyone sits on. Be careful though because if a car is blocking you and another is pilling into the spot you are sitting at quickly .. bad things may happen. read more

The most authentic street tacos in all of Philadelphia, I'll say! So good that when we get the craving, we'll drive across town just for the taste of tacos el rodeo! I prefer the steak tacos with green sauce to anything they offer here. More recently, we started venturing away from our regular order and trying other things on their menu like the quesadillas and burritos. But to be honest, they are not nearly as good as the tacos - so I would recommend sticking to those for good measure. read more

Pro: I really REALLY enjoyed this taco! My thought process on the food item has shifted recently. I believe that the best tacos aren't made in traditional restaurants; you can find them in back yards and on food trucks. Tacos El Rodeo has further cemented this sentiment...at least for the truck portion of the thought. Their Al Pastor taco was about as good as you can get, while the accompanying sauces only make a great thing greater! Con: The perennial problems with a food truck: no seating, weather-dependent, etc. Bottom Line: I will be a repeat offender and explore more options. If the other proteins are as good as the Al Pastor, I foresee another star in TER's future! read more

Went in person and ordered at 11:50am. Didn't get our food for 30 min! Others came after us and got theirs. They priorities are their online orders first. We got 2 chicken burritos complete trash. If you see this truck parked in front of the Sherwin-Williams, RUN, don't walk to experience the best tacos of your life. This cash-only food truck has some of the best al pastor I've had in Philly, a city I've come to truly love for its abundance of fantastic taco joints. The meat is carved and placed in a couple of double stacked corn tortillas. Don't skip on the red and green side salsas. They will burn your mouth in a way that beckons for additional bites in between sips of an ice cold cola. Partake in the full experience and sit curbside as you melt away into a carb-inducted bliss. read more

For fresh, inexpensive, and authentic Mexican food, I'm not sure you can do any better than this in Philadelphia. I'd highly recommend a visit here. It looks very unassuming at first glance, with brightly colored (if not slightly tacky) mural paintings covering the exterior. Don't be fooled by appearances, though. The menu is small and very well priced: $2 per taco and about $5 for a burrito. Great assortment of meats and flavors to choose from, including al pastor, chorizo, tongue, chicken, carnitas, and more. If you're confused, just ask the staff - they are all very friendly and willing to explain all of your options in detail. The burritos are packed full, but not overwhelmingly so. These are not at all like the heavy, stomach-expanding Chipotle or Qdoba behemoths you're probably used to. The focus here is on the flavors, freshness, and authenticity, and El Rodeo delivers in spades. The side red and verde sauces are nice extra enhancements to the flavors you'll experience. I left feeling very satisfied. I was full, but not "food coma" full - it was the perfect-sized burito. I'm eagerly anticipating my next visit. I can already tell that this will soon become a "regular" spot for me when I'm in need of a quick, fresh, flavorful meal. read more

Delicious tacos! The tacos al pastor are SOOOOO good. You get avocado for each taco and they make it fresh. For $6, you get 3 overfilled tacos with avocado. I also ordered the chicken quesadilla a few times (when they were out of al pastor) and it was good. Large portion, very flavored chicken, and made fresh. It's open until 10pm every day except Sunday. read more

You know its good when you see people eating in/on their cars in the parking lot next to the truck just to enjoy this. Between us we ordered about $11 which turned out to be $25. Either we got ripped off, or they're charging $2.25 per taco now. Regardless, they are SO worth it. You can mix and match your taco order to try different kinds of meat. I had the pastor and cabeza and oh man the cabeza is out of this world tender! I didn't know what to expect since I usually go for al pastor but I would definitely recommend trying something new! The al pastor was good but kind of a let down after the cabeza. I loved the fresh avocado and pickled carrot on top. Will definitely be back! read more

My intention was to pick up some groceries at the Italian Market, but I didn't see a single thing that tempted me. I kept walking down Washington Ave. A brightly painted truck came in to view and I remembered hearing about an elusive (no website, no twitter!) newer South Philly taco truck. Tacos El Rodeo Mobil Food Catering Truck does tacos, tortas, burritos, quesodillas, and sincronizadas with whatever filings they have that day. These might include chorizo, tripe, or even cabeza. Tacos are $2, so I got 5 (sin cabeza). Here, "everything on it" means a little lettuce, tomato, an avocado slice, a lime slice and a pickled carrot. Spicy red and green sauces come on the side. Meat for the al pastor taco, or trompo, is sliced off a rotisserie spit. The crispy,tasty little pieces impressed. The beef filling came as small, charred bits and the chorizo had just the right amount of grease and spice. But the carnitas may be my favorite, the barely seasoned pork was so tender and porky, it needed little else. Compared to Taco Loco, further east on Washington, these dominate. The issue with cheaper taco places is often an obvious lower quality meat with bits of inedible fat and gristle. And that was not the case with El Rodeo. They nail it on quality, taste, and price, with even more points for the cheerful mural. read more

Didn't know if people gave reviews to food trucks but apparently they do lol Ever since they showed up on Washington avenue I've been a returning customer. Whenever I want a Torta (not exactly but practically a Mexican burger) I come here for it. I have tried Various other Mexican restaurants tortas and tacos but by far this truck has a tasty and more fulfilling torta. Idk what they do to it but they're damn good at it. Their tacos don't fall short either as my fam have tried their carne asada, tacos al pastor and tacos de chorizo, and always go back whenever we want Mexican food. Definitely recommend trying out this place. Oh make sure to call ahead. Their schedule seems a bit different every week lol Ive learned my lesson to just walk over n not find the truck there . read more

A friend told me about a truck on 10th & Washington that had great Mexican a few months ago when I was saying that the Mexican here in Philly just wasn't measuring up to what I was looking for. Well tonight I went to find that truck. Just walking up to the truck the smell alone was promising. I got steak, chicken and carnitas al pastor tacos, steak quesadilla and carnitas burrito al pastor. Best tacos in the city. The al pastor is killer as is the tongue and chorizo. They're consistently delicious and very cheap. $2 a pop, so you can really load up and eat well. My rankings go al pastor, chorizo, tongue, bistec, chicken, then the carnitas. Yes, I eat there a lot.... BEST TACOS IN PHILADELPHIA. Hands down. I live in the area of "North, South Philly" that is inundated with great tacos shops and frequent the two big boys, Veracruzana and El Jarrocho. For months I've driven past El Rodeo, always parked next to the CVS at 11th and Washington, and wondered where it came from and how it competes in an area saturated with great tacos. Finally I got to find out. I was recently driving home from Delaware Ave and wanted a quick, inexpensive bite. Naturally, I thought of Taco Loco (another great option) but alas, they were closed. I figured I'd see if the Rodeo truck was there and give it a go. It's always a good sign when you can visibly see meat spinning on a trompo and that's all I needed to confirm me order. 3 Al Pastor and 1 tripe tacos later I proudly declared, "THESE ARE THE BEST TACOS IN THE CITY". And they are. Very inexpensive to boot. My girlfriend got 2 carnitas, which were also good, but didn't quite touch the pastor. All in all, I've found my new taco joint. Sorry El Jarocho. read more

I got a vegetarian taco and although I appreciate the authenticity, vegetarian just means without meat here. I wish they put grilled vegetables on it or something instead of just giving you rice and beans. But the presentation was fantastic and it was $6 for 3 tacos so I can't really complain! I needed a quick snack and was thankfully near this fantastic food truck to pick up a $2 beef taco. Within 3 minutes of placing my order, a neatly tied plastic bag with a small Styrofoam box was handed to me. Inside was a fantastic, vivid array of beef, lettuce, tomato, avocado, carrot, and lime on two layered tortillas as well as two small containers of red and green sauce. I was so hungry I almost ate the lime but rescued it in time to squeeze over it. It tasted healthy and fantastic! The tortillas weren't as warm and chewy as I'd like them to be but it was well worth the short wait. The menu is small and doesn't have prices and uses terminology that not everyone might be familiar with. I'll probably stay on the safe side and get the burritos or tacos. read more

Marvelous rice and beans side dish for $2; excellent traditional tacos (be sure to ask for classic if you want the traditional base *corn tortilla, meat, chopped white onion, and cilatro* style, rather than the "gringo" version, which adds lettuce, cheese, salsa, and sour cream, to appeal to Taco Bell mindset). While it shows the truck is parked there 12 pm onward, I have not seen it the last couple of weeks I've walked my dogs there for a rice and beans fix. Are they still in business? read more

The line was long, the sun beat down, and shade was minimal. I would have knocked a star off for the 40+ minute wait from my place in line to when I left, but the food was just too good. I went with the Birria tacos and because I wanted to try something else as I wasn't about to make the effort to search them out elsewhere, I also had the chicken nachos sans sour cream. Got back to work and the opening of the bowls was exciting. Wallah! The three Birria tacos were so delicious each packed with mucho meat and cheese. Four quarters of lime was included. The first bite was incredible. Lots of flavor, and I almost needed a bib for the juices pouring out. The chicken nachos were just as exciting to open and see the colorful beans, jalapeños, cheese, and chicken with the homemade sauce with it. The meal also came with two sauce ramekins and a styrofoam cup of jus. The line as I said was long. They take only so many orders before making them and having the rest of the line wait until those orders were done. If you're not early, you'll have to prepare to stand around for your turn. Just some excellent Mexican food for lunch today. If I saw Burrito Feliz in a food truck festival or just near me, I'm definitely going to buy my meal there. They also have drinks which a lot of people were purchasing and street corn; both of which I did not try but want to. $15 for the Birria tacos and $13 for the chicken nachos today. $28 total. Bit on the expensive side but I wanted to try more than one thing for lunch, and, I certainly didn't eat it all so I have some for dinner or lunch tomorrow!

We were there at an off peak time so there were no issues finding a table. My husband ordered the 3 taco deal. He chose steak as the protein. I had 2 individual tacos so that I could try the barbacoa and cochinita pibil. We also split the guacamole with handmade chips. It came with 2 tasty hot sauces. I could definitely taste the jalapeño in the green sauce. My husband loved all the spicy toppings and sauces. It was exactly as we thought it would be in terms of flavor. Especially the cochinita pibil which is something we had previously in the Yucatan. Everything was so clean and fresh tasting. The technique in making the barbacoa truly brings out the full flavor of the lamb. The value was there considering the amount of protein in each taco. The toppings were all fresh and delicious.
