I'd like to share a review that goes beyond the food and speaks to the character of the people here. While traveling through the area, we stopped in for a meal and I happened to be carrying cash from a day of antique shopping. After leaving town, I reached into my pocket and realized $179 was missing. We called the restaurant, and they checked the booth and found that exact amount. They safely held the money in the register until we returned to pick it up. When I tried to offer a reward for their honesty, they kindly refused. Not at all impressed with the staff or the food. It makes me nervous when I go to a sit down restaurant and have the meal I ordered in front of me in under 5 minutes. This is literally the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to in my life. Chips and salsa were bland and watery. Ordered the Queso Fundido and it was an unmelted ball of cheese in a bowl filled with liquid. I almost barfed and the pico looked like it was a month old. First off I love Mexican food, I've traveled all around the United States and have ate at several Mexican restaurants. I hate to say this has to be the worst. I had the chimichanga dinner it was not fried. The chips taste Rancid the salsa taste like Ortega's. And everything was very salty. I don't know how they been in business since 1986. The food is not good at all. The chicken for the fajitas was obviously pre-cooked frozen crap. My friends taco had 2 flour tortillas. Wife's quesadilla was like it didn't see the grill at all...They use mozzarella and cheddar for the queso. Salsa was worse than the cheapest jar salsa from the store(maybe it is)...Pretty much a joke of a so called authentic Mexican restaurant. Love this place. As soon as you walk in, you're asked to sit wherever you'd like. We usually choose a corner booth, and someone is there with a bowl of chips and salsa within a minute, ready to take drink orders. The food is consistently good, the veggies are fresh and my wet burrito loaded with cheese just the way I like it. It's not perfect, but it's as close to authentic as I've found so far. Take Out is great too, the containers are stuffed full of beans, rice, and guacamole to fill in what your order doesn't. Prices are fair, and I have never gotten sick while eating here. read more

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to in West Michigan. The food is all very fresh and tasty. Hugo (the owner) is very outgoing and personally takes all the orders. Excellent food wet burrito Fantastic food! I had the wet burrito dinner and was I in love! I ate the entire burrito and wished their was more! The other people who I was with had a tamale which they said was great and very authentic. The fajitas were good made four and tacos were great too! The food is very authentic, however I was surprised that they did not serve alcohol (especially margaritas or dos equis). We enjoyed our meal and will be back! read more

Literally the best Mexican food ever. I have been eating there for 25 years or more (I don't actually know because I wasn't even a teenager yet). The food here is absolutely disgusting. Worst Mexican food I have ever had. I ordered a chicken and cheese enchilada the chicken tasted straight out of a can never in my life have I had chicken that tasted like tuna. The cheese enchilada tasted like a corn tortilla with shredded cheese inside. I have made better quesadillas at home from my MICROWAVE. The beans tasted straight from a can definitely not homemade and the rice was the most disgusting Mexican rice I have ever had. I'm sorry but if you actually enjoyed the food you clearly have no taste buds or have ever had authentic Mexican cuisine. read more

Recommended by the dude at the Joost store near Walmart. You only get one chance to make a first impression and my first impression is Bunk! Ordered cheese quesadilla appetizer, guacamole, beef taco dinner, beef enchilada dinner and tamale dinner. Cheese quesadilla looked like it came out of the microwave with greasy cheese. Soft shell ground beef corn tacos had a layer of grease on top of the tortillas. The food wasn't delicious, it was just okay. Tamale dinner was the best tasting out of the three entrees. On the plus side: They do have a clean restroom. Bottom line, I'm sorry we wasted our time and money here. I'm hopeful that our gut doesn't rebel later tonight. read more

I think every ingredient was out of a can and as unfresh as possible on this menu. The service was great but the food was worse than fast food. Do not get Mexican pizza, it's an old taco shell covered with refried beans and load of cheese, no tomatoes or any other veggies on there. Also I didn't see any meat either. It was just horrible. Service is great and everyone is friendly but the meat used in the entrees is not good. The food came out too fast which makes me question how fresh it really is. The steak has some kind of seasoning on it that just isn't good. My wife ordered the flautas and they weren't flautas. They were enchiladas without the sauce. A friend of ours got sick 15 minutes after we left. Given all that, I can't possibly recommend this place. All I can say is, stay away! read more
