The kind gentleman at the front greeted me behind the register and asked how he could help. Yes it was with an accent but I could clearly understand him and his helpful tone. I explained to him my issue and it being an older car, he said no problem and set me up so that I can have it looked into right away. After a few hours of leaving my car there, I checked back in and asked if they were able to find out the issue. Another guy who was also pretty friendly went in the back to check and they pretty much found my problem which was the transmission. They provided me an estimate to fix it, but it was honestly too much for a broke college student like me so I politely declined. They were nothing but courteous and polite to me from the moment I walked in the door. I hope more people can come here to support local businesses and don't get deterred by hateful almost racist comments some people leave these hardworking local shops.

They sed that both battery testers were dead and needed to charge it would be about an hour. I told him my car won't start I had to jump it to get here, and then he suggested I go to the next store closest to get it checked. That would have been nice but again I stated my car won't start. So I figured I'd just get another battery, he sed ok and I asked if someone could help me put it in. Again he was like sorry no... long pause and just stared at me I was like no one can help me ?? He sed I have a back injury, (which ok I get it you don't wanna make it worse) but Dolby whose standing right next to him staring at her phone trying to ignore me. I asked again so no one here can help me?! Manny turned to look at her and she still stood there staring at her phone could care less that I was asking. I was about to walk out and she finally was like let's go look at your car. She brought the wrong tools and then began saying the bolts were rusted and would need to be cut. I'm sorry but I got the nuts off earlier befor I arrived so they were already loose and maybe if you brought the right tools with you- I'm just appalled at the SHITTY service here attitude and communication! Because of this, I have a tendency to freak out and get ripped off whenever something seems "abnormal." So my friend and I were driving around town one day when he informed me that the weird sound emanating from my car every time I stopped was a sign that my brake pads were old. He tried to explain what they do and blah blah blah, but honestly, those things just go in one ear and out the other with me. He's a pretty handy guy so he offered to help me install new brake pads, but wth are brake pads?? I poked around a bit and found this little shop. I like to try to support independent businesses as much as I can, and my efforts paid off here. The owner was very nice and friendly and helped me get the right brake pads for my car. I am always wary of getting ripped off with these things, since I feel like people are always out to rip me off the minute they realize I know nothing about cars, but my friend told me I actually got a really good deal on them. I'd highly recommend this shop if you need anything for your car. They have a little parking lot in the mechanic's garage right next door, AND it's super close to a Roscoe's so you can satisfy your chicken and waffle cravings AND auto parts needs in one trip!

Turns out, just a little bit hard. First local shop I visited had a creepy old guy behind the counter who suggested I buy some kind of synthetic and high performance filter, funnels, pans, etc. for a total of 55 dollars! For that kind of coin, I might as well hire my own personal mechanic. Exasperated, I called my grease monkey friend who recommended World Car Parts in West LA. Tony was super friendly and chill, explained I didn't need synthetic oil for my car AND gave me a very reasonable price for both oil and filter. Fantastic! Will be back!
