Mexico Lindo is a delightful little Mexican restaurant in a rather drab strip mall. Compared to the rest of the strip mall, it's bright and cheerful. The chips&salsa are excellent- they could be a meal in themselves. The service is amiable. Their reliable standbys are chile rellenos, tamales, and enchiladas. Their chile rellenos are filled to the brim with cheese, complete with a spicy sauce. Mexico Lindo doesn't shy away from the spice. One can order spicy- and get it. No prices on menu for drinks, we ordered 1 pitcher of margs, it was enough for 3 glasses and it was a premade mix with a sprinkle of tequila, charged us $50! The restaurant has a pleasant welcoming atmosphere. I was prompted greeted and guided to a table/booth. Service with a smile throughout my visit. Water and chips with salsa served right away after sitting. They move fast! And make sure all patrons are given attention. I ordered chicken tostada with avocado and black beans...didnt look like the picture. I think my ordered was mixed up. Maybe they thought I said tostada salad. I didnt make a fuss, as I most likely didnt make sure they understood my selection. The food was ok. The chicken was tasty, shredded chicken. Not a big fan of chopped iceberg lettuce though. Price was reasonable. I will go back for lunch from time to time. I think i will stick with chicken fajitas or super nachos, yummy. Ordered chicken fajita off the lunch menu - even pointed to the item on the menu; was charged for the dinner price. When I went back the next day (I was with a group and had to get back to training), the lady confirmed I was charged the dinner price. When I commented the portion was very small for a dinner, she replied 'yes, they are very small' The food itself was mediocre at best. The veggies came out sizzling on the hot plate, but no way were they just cooked veggies. The chicken felt old and dry. Overpriced and not good food. Perhaps not authentic, but what does one expect this far north of San Diego in the middle of nowhere, Oregon? The employees are Mexican (or at least they speak decent Spanish) and they are caring and attentive. The portions are large and they have the usual offerings of Mexican beers. I found my margarita a little light on tequila but the Corona and Modelo were ice cold. I had a Burrito Acapulco which was stuffed with baby shrimp and scallops. My colleague had chicken enchiladas. While the entrees by themselves had good flavor and taste, both were served with too rather runny refried beans and overcooked rice. So I agree with the other posts. If you want good authentic Mexican food, there are probably better places to go. read more

In the world of Corvallis, Oregon Mexican food, of which I am not an aficionado, since I don't live here, I am not sure exactly where to rate this place. If you compare it to Southern California, of course it will pale in comparison. However, based against the rest of the bunch up here, who knows? Nevertheless, this place tucked into a strip mall was welcoming with colorful murals all over the wall, the staff is friendly and helpful and it's actually a pretty big place so you could take a big party there. Looks like they have a full bar. However we just drank water and pepsi's. The lunch combo meals are a great value, and I certainly was full after lunch. Give them a try. read more

The first time I came to this restaurant was in 2020 and my partner and I got take out. I got the beef tacos al carbón but I was not a fan. The tacos were bland and had little flavor. Fast forward to now and I was invited to have a working lunch there. The ladies working there are super friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I got the bandera enchilada which are three enchiladas each made with a different sauce. I really liked the green and white but the red sauce was just ok. The chips, rice, and beans were ok as well. We stopped here by chance on the way back to the coast, we were just going to get fast food but when we found this restaurant hiding in the back corner of the plaza we just couldn't resist the idea of Mexican food! We ordered the rolled tacos from the appetizer menu, it was enough to feed both of us, and the flavor was amazing! Seriously the best, most fresh rolled tacos i have ever had! I was beyond disappointed when I went with my sister last night for what we thought would be a quick dinner. It took 24min for my server to bring my pop, 40min for our dinner to arrive, and an additional 20 min for the Togo order we placed right when we sat down. There were 6 people total in the restaurant the entire time we were there so no excuses. While paying a couple came up behind is complaining that they had asked for their check 20min earlier and were joking about dining and dashing since nobody was around to help. Ixtapa has always been my favorite restaurant and moving forward I will never ever dine here again. Oh yeah, when we got our Togo order of fajitas home it was missing the tortillas entirely. We have eaten here many times, our go-to Mexican restaurant. I love the camarones a la crema. My wife likes the veggie burrito.

Strip mall Mexican food. It's kinda obvious they buy stuff like chips and taco shells from big box suppliers. I got 3 item combo. The taco (beef) was actually disgusting (on par with Taco Bell). Both the beef and the shell probably came out of a can! But the cheese enchiladas were good (tad salty), as well as the beans and rice. The salsa is good too, but again I have a feeling it's just purchased in bulk rather than actually made fresh. The ambiance is weird. T-bar ceiling with a mix of different light fixtures. The chairs lack in style and throw back to the 90s. The staff are great! read more

Where to begin...well, the only reason for 1 star besides that we aren't allowed to give none is the smile of one of the servers was genuinely friendly. I am just blown away by the rudeness exhibited by the manager today. I ordered a quesadilla and was brought a chimichanga. I politely clarified when she snapped, "No you didn't. You said chimichanga" and walked away. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was informed she IS the manager. When she came back she was very rude and was speaking in a strongly raised voice about how a chimichanga is what I ordered. Eventually, she did exchange my food and slammed down a barely done, uncut quesadilla. I was just taken aback by the entire situation. I have been there several times before. Stopped here after the OSU Graduation. They were packed and had two amazingly efficient servers working. It was obvious that this surge was not expected. We were a party of two and were seated away from the "family wreath" tables. These folks actually spawned college graduates!! (think about it). Our server was handling front of house in addition to us seated in the back. She was literally running to the kitchen to keep up with the orders. She handled it all with grace and efficiency. The wait for food was not bad at all considering that they were slammed. We had drinks, chips (first basket free, but our multiples were not charged...I think this is to keep starving students from depleting their supply when dining with their "bud"dies. Food was moderately priced. Our combo plates were large, flavourful, and hit the spot as our first meal since 7am and enduring the commencement ceremony. Rice was deceivingly simple in presentation, but packed with flavour. Chicken was marinated in sauce and was shredded. Beans were some of the best that I have had. Funny aside...I ordered my taco on a separate plate as I don't like how the tacos get soggy from the other items. This isn't authentic Mexican, but you are in the middle of Oregon so what do you expect. This is still one of my favorite places. The service has always been fast for me. I've had everything from a taco salad, enchiladas, to a taco. Get the refried beans! Most of the entrees come with rice and beans on the side. I have never found refried beans anywhere as good as they are here. The salsa is a little spicy, but you can ask for mild. You can also get a pitcher of margaritas if you so desire. I do like the food and environment here, but the service isn't at all top notch. You'll be lucky if they take notice of you at all to give you a refill on your drinks, and the guacamole isn't fresh, it's refrigerated. You can tell by the temperature and texture. Personally, I also think this place is too pricey and doesn't give you the bang for your buck. Besides that, good food, and great environment that really makes you think of Mexico. We have stopped here a number of times traveling inland from the coast. First fee times, food was good as was the service. However, our last visit was just that, the last. Not crowded at all, took forever to take our order and the manager or owner was preoccupied on a personal telephone call talking about how upset she was with family members. I came in today with my friend and asked for a bean and cheese burrito, they did not ask if we wanted it wet or not and then later on they brought out the next one and it was really cold with hardly any cheese. It took us having to call them to come check on us and the staff were just sitting there in the back Not doing anything. Stopped in for a quick lunch, very fast service and the enchiladas for lunch were piping hot. Salsa was very good and fresh, chips were served warm (almost hot). The food was surprisingly bland in taste. My water glass was empty and the waitress went by several times before I could catch her attention to ASK for more water. The lunch crows was emptying out and i was ignored, had to stand up to leave and find someone so that I could pay my check. I have had both better food and better service. Coming from the southwest I had my doubts about finding a good Mexican restaurant in my new locale. I will have to keep looking. read more

Just an additional note, one reviewer noted the "runny refrieds," and I agree. However, if you want something a bit more "authentico," ask them to subsitute "whole beans" for the refried beans. These are cooked and seasoned beans "in the round." Much healthier and more true to what you would find in a real Latino household -- or at least in my household when I grew up. read more
