Missing the taste of Mexican from the LA area, I am forever searching for good Mexican cuisine. Mexico Lindo comes close. Although still a bit 'Tex-Mex' for my taste, this place comes closer than others (and close to home! which is amazing). Hit it first on a cold Saturday night, thanks to the suggestion of friends. The line up was out the door... and we were packed like sardines. The place itself is long and narrow and the tables a tad smaller and closer together than I'd like, however, this was quickly overlooked when my dinner arrived. I ordered the chiles rellenos, not on the regular menu, but on the blackboard of 'specials'. It was good. Not great, but really good. With sides of rice and beans, the meal was enjoyable, filling and very reasonably priced. Since that time, I've visited the Port Perry and Oshawa locations. These I visited during the day - the food was okay. The Port Perry location could have been cleaner (sticky floor and slimy table) and the Oshawa location's food could have been warmer. As far as Mexican goes - this is the best I've found lately. Comparable to the 'Hernando's Hideaway' from the 'old days' (1980's), I will revisit every time I don't feel like cooking and have a hankering for tasty Mexican fare. (I've never sampled 'real' Mexican fare - the furthest I've been in Mexico is Tijuana. My comparison is based on the Mexican restaurants I've been to in the LA area!) read more

Mexico Lindo has two branches, in Ajax and in Whitby, and i have been to both. The interiors give kind of a rustic, Mexican look. The food is decent, and fresh. In Ajax, the waiting staff introduced me to a very spicy sauce but did not find that in Whitby. The tomatillo sauce is fantastic, even though I am not a big fan of sour sauces. read more

Contrary to the other reviews, this place is not authentic Mexican in the least, but rather a sad, bastardized Canadian version. The only thing this place has going for it are its very tasty and fresh chips, but these are ruined by the most pathetic salsa I've ever had...literally soupy, purée tomato with virtually no other flavours present. For my main, I ordered a "beef" burrito, and the "beef" was saucy ground beef glob rather than the expected (and truly authentic) sliced steak. I would have given this place two stars because the food was at least edible if not authentic BUT it's also needlessly expensive...I've never spent so much on a bad burrito (expect perhaps in fancy Manhattan neighbourhoods). read more

Great Restaurant great food! Super Authentic and there is def not many of those in oshawa and whitby region. Only downside is that their fajitas only come with four tortillas? if you even overstuff all four of them it wont even use up half of the skillet given and then they charge you extra for more tortillas. Best Value for Money Mexican Restaurant in the surrounding GTA area. Authentic Mexican cuisine done right. I've tried about half of the menu now and I have not come across a dish that didn't give me the comfort food O-M-G-soo-good-nom-non-nom willies. Don't be fooled by the modest location in a strip mall, the tacky decor, this place is worth it. We live downtown Toronto and often find ourselves making the over an hour drive just to chow down on the burritos, enchiladas, fluatas, fajitas and amazing fixin's this place puts on their plates. Food was okay expect they were very stingy with the tortillas. We had fajitas for two and they gave us 4 tortillas and made us pay for more.

Toronto does not have a lot of good REAL mexican food places. Mucho Burrito is NOT A REAL MEXICAN RESTAURANT. This place is real authentic Mexican food. The food is made with real ingredients, it tastes mostly accurate. This place rivals places I have had in Kensington market, and is truly a gem in Pickering. I would recommending this place as real Mexican above the other local options of Taco Hell any day. read more

Tradition mexican fare. Ive been to Mexico and eaten in local family homes. This is what you get at this resturant, solid traditional fare. Large portions at a decent price. In house made hot sauce was excellent. Mixed platters were more then filling and well prepared. Tequila selection was ridiculously disappointing as they only had a 'gold' tequila on hand? Seriously, thats just not right. Traditionalists would never drink a gold tequila, and too have one type of tequila on hand?( bring your own bottle stashed in your purse, because the foods worth it) read more

This was probably the worst dining experience I have ever had. My partner and I arrived and gave our order about half an hour before closing. Another group of four came in shortly after us. We ordered Guacamole and Fajitas for 2. They brought some complimentary corn chips and salsa to the table. The chips were stale and the salsa tasted like tomato sauce. The server then brought over a fajita plate. We noticed there was chicken on the plate and we had ordered all beef. We flagged down the server who took 5 minutes to confirm that it was not our order. About 5 minutes later it became apparent that our order had never been placed when the various servers started yelling about it. One of the servers returned to our table to inform us that the advocados were not ripe so the quacamole would unavailable. Eventully, about 20 minutes later, we finally received our fajitas. The beef was tastles and full of sinew. The wraps had large spots of mold on them. During our entire meal the watiers yelled at eachother. There was no apology for the mold, mistake in service or lack of guacamole. I will not be returning. read more

Can't beat this place for Mexican in Durham. What it lacks in curb appeal it more then make up for in food. This place is always a full house with pick up orders lined up out the door. If you want to change things up or just looking for great Mexican this is the place. read more

My family went there for the first time last Sunday. Upon arriving, we were greeted by pleasant and helpful staff who sat us quickly. We were presented with home made chips and salsa. They were okay but a bit bland. Nothing to get excited about. We ordered a variety of items from the menu because we like to share. The chimichangas were bland and tasteless. The burrito grande was fair. The steak tacos were unappetizing and the steak tasted "funky." With your meal you are given refried beans (cold but at least tasted good), lettuce with tomatoes, and rice (cold, bland and "crunchy"). Overall, our impression was not favourable. My pregnant sibling dragged me here on a weekend, and I mean most Mexican restaurants are hit or miss, but this place is a home run. The food was delicious, and nicely portioned, I paid 20 bucks for my meal but in all honesty I felt itis kick in before I could even finish the last few bites. Not only is the food great at this restaurant - the service is superb! Our family decided to celebrate my our 35th wedding anniversary here. From the moment that we walked in, the ambiance was cool - I thought we were really in Mexico! And of course, while we were waiting for our table, the staff were very friendly. We did not even mind waiting for a long time. Once we were seated, two baskets of tortilla chips with salsa were on our table - yummy! The whole dinner was absolutely fantastic and the servings are very generous that we did not have space for dessert. The best thing was the owner, knowing we were celebrating our anniversary - brought a big platter of deep fried ice cream with chocolate sauce all over it - free! We love this place and it is definitely a "repeater" on our list. read more

If this is what you call authentic Mexican then keep me away from Mexico. I ordered nachos and I got a plate of chips with some slop beef mix thrown on top. Virtually no veggies of any kind. I felt like I was being served in a Hostel. Service was just fine, no wait time (not surprised), but both our meals were very unfortunate.
