huevos rancheros, hold the rice and beans with added lettuce and sour cream.
    Vicki C.

Mexico Viejo is a decent fast Mexican food restaurant with an extensive menu filled with all of the requisite foods. They have a solid consumer base and I have eaten there numerous times over the year. On Saturday I popped in for some Huevos Rancheros, my favorite breakfast. I checked to see if the Ranchero sauce, beans and rice were vegetarian and only the sauce was. The cashier allowed me to substitute lettuce and sour cream for the beans and rice and she was very friendly about it. My meal came out and even without the main sides it was huge, 3 tortillas underneath the 3 eggs, and more of them folded up on the side. It would have been enjoyable, except they did not serve sunny side eggs as the menu stated. Instead they served them over hard. I did not eat them but I created tacos from what was on my plate lettuce, pico de gallo, ranchero sauce and cheese.

Walked in place looks abit dirty but had a nice clear menu. Ordered 5 beef roll tacos with guacamole and cheese I tried to order a rice of rice but music inside was loud and she must've not heard me. When I get back to work and open I see rice is missing and the roll tacos look stale. Didn't have a receipt so was sure if I paid for the rice or not. First bite definitely could tell these roll tacos were old the ends were so hard was hot at all cheese was room temperature. I called and ask if I could get a refund if I brought back the tacos he said no and said he would just make me new ones. Needless to say but I lost my appetite after that's so I just wanted my money back but wasn't but waste my time. Place is best to avoid

Taco shop is open for the public. Me and father had a bad experience today with a employee. We were asked what color of hot sauce we'd like and I responded with both red and green colors and if I could please get 4 green since I like green sauce . The lady responded with a no only 2 and I asked if you could please add 2 more and I'll pay. She responds no we don't sell them. I was a bit confused it's for my burrito you just sold me, I didn't say that but I said what did I do to you. And the cashier said give him them. I said thank you. But this can't keep going on.

    Ham & Pico Breakfast Burrito

I am always on the look out for a great breakfast burrito and this place definitely served me up one. I stopped in on a Saturday morning for breakfast and ordered the ham and egg with cheese burrito. For a little bit more, I added some pico de gallo. The burrito cost $5 and some change. The burrito was quite large and very tasty. I was very impressed with the quality of the four tortilla. It was one of those flour tortillas that had that very rich and buttery texture. I love it. I also like the fact that they put a generous amount of savory ham. The ham was good and so was the pico de gallo they mixed into the eggs. The pico de gallo had a small bit and very good flavor. The eggs were well scrambled and tasted very good. The burrito came with cheddar which was nicely melted in the burrito, but I felt that it needed more. I tried a couple of their salsas, the deep red and the tomatillo sauce and let me tell you, the red one was very hot. It also had great flavor but be careful it's a hot one. Just a little goes a long way. I would certainly order this burrito again.

a tortilla with meat and vegetables

Food service terrible I order a veggie burrito and I notice the guy who did my burrito put the tortilla with cheese on the microwave . Why? Don't the have a grill we're to cook at . It was cold when I receive it .

My favorite authentic Mexican food, period. Can't go wrong with a chicken or carne asada burrito. Enjoy!

Great veggie burrito! Large place in small, strange strip mall. Been meaning to get it for a while. I'll be back.

Big Burritos but a little on the salty, oily side. Easy take out.

Their tacos are big, and have a lot of meat inside, but waaaay too oily. Service is 4 out of 5.

Our server, Juan, was outstanding... friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate about the menu without ever being overbearing. The gorgeous interior is warm, vibrant, and beautifully designed, making it just as much an experience as the food. Exceptional hospitality, authentic Mexican cuisine, and a beautiful atmosphere. I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos and a house coffee. The coffee was actually pretty good! Cream and sugar were delivered separately to finish with your preference. As for the tacos, it was okay. The fish was a bit dry for my liking, cabbage could have been chopped with more finesse, and I wished they QC'd their limes a bit before putting them on the plate. Both were bone dry and I had to ask for more. Moreover, the cilantro lime rice was also a bit bland. It needed salt to lift the flavors in my opinion. There weren't even flecks of green if it was supposed to be cilantro? I tried boyfriend's veggie hash but was disappointed to find that it was almost all potatoes. Having said that, it was an extremely generous portion so he was filled up. While I didn't try it, our friend that had the chorizo hash also said it was okay so I'm guessing the ratio wasn't quite right. Anyways, ask for their chili sauce on the side, that's actually quite surprising. It had really good heat and was more like a chili crisp than a vinegary hot sauce. The plates that did score favorably at the table were the carne chilaquiles and the divorced eggs.

The parking lot has plentiful parking but was completely full as I was leaving around 12pm. There were tons of order pick-up spots and 20-minute max parking spots that help with the flow. The restaurant was impeccably clean with a growing line of lunch-goers. The workers were very efficient and the line moved quickly. I also noticed the apparent owner/manager talking to regulars and greeting customers as they walked in, which I really liked to see! I was served my order to-go in less than 10 minutes and ended up unexpectedly using the other 10 minutes after taking my first bite--after that it was hard to stop. The burrito was the perfect size (not too large and not too small). My original breakfast burrito was wrapped in a fresh hand-made tortilla filled with fluffy eggs, the perfect amount of bacon, cheese, soft fresh potatoes, topped with the avocado salsa verde which went perfectly with everything. I even ended up sipping the salsa (it was that good) between bites of the burrito. I was also blown away by the clean and fully stocked salsa bar. So many options (including non-spicy ones for those with gastric limitations too!) and they even offered radishes, carrots, and pickled onions individually wrapped with care. Everything tasted fresh and home-made. After 7 years being away from San Diego, Los Tacos delivered exactly what I had been missing. This location really blew me away and I will definitely be back to see what else it has to offer.

Having set my Apple Maps before reading the description of the restaurant, my wife and I set our course on the way back from the San Diego Zoo. I didn't want to get home too late and the parking situation for the better restaurants near the zoo didn't look promising so we decided to go further away from San Diego to find a place on the way home near the 5 freeway. Cancun may not look like much but the food is pretty freaking amazing. My surf and turf burrito filled with generous amounts of shrimp and carne asada was incredible. Adding sour cream and guacamole just put it on another level. No burritos like this near my home. My wife's shrimp plate was also a winner. Lots of shrimp. My wife's only gripe was not enough rice and beans. Even the side of corn tortillas was moist and tasty. I'm not sure if they make their own tortillas but it seemed like it. Even the french fries are incredible. Nice and crispy but not dry. I thought I'd still be hungry after just the burrito but I had no idea what a monster it is. Even after eating 3/4 of it, the remainder was still heavy. The older lady working the register is so sweet. A little hard to understand since she has a thick accent but very nice and helpful. The cook was cool too. Very happy when I stopped before leaving to tell them the food was "delicioso". Don't let the gas station scare you away. The food is jammin'! I plan on stopping by again when I attend Comic-con next year.
