Well I found our new go to Mexican food spot. The staff accommodated our wish to eat outside even though they only had one server on staff in the middle of the afternoon, and currently only wanted to seat indoors. Ordering and getting the food was quick and pleasant. The food itself was great with good portion size. The sauce that came with my lamb tacos was so fresh, and the meat was cooked just right. This restaurant is okay. The server did not have any knowledge about the food and had no enthusiasm to ask cook about my question in order to satisfy customers reasonable request. As far as I know if you go to local restaurant they do make the food as per your taste. I am a pure vegetarian And I was surprised to know they didn't have any queso to eat with salsa ... the only item I liked about was cheese quesadilla and chocolate moose. Went for dinner Friday night. The place was a zoo . Most of the tables were full. There were a lot of outgoing orders also. we had to wait , they had a lot of help and they were very busy. Our waitress gave us chips and salsa and drinks and checked on us occasionally. When the food came out it was so delicious. Big portions good price. I'm a pretty damn tough critic on Yelp and I have to say that this place is super super good. I was nervous about the ratings but decided to try it anyway. We got take out. There aren't many options for Mexican food in this area, so when this place opened up a little over a month ago my boyfriend and I were really excited to check it out. With its bright colors outside you can't miss it. The inside is rather spacious and decorated very ornately, however, it has a pretty casual atmosphere. The chips and salsa were good. (Just wish the chips were warm and the salsa was more room temp as opposed to cold) We both had the chicken chimichanga that came with refried beans, rice, and fresh pico de Gallo. It was delicious. The chicken was flavorful, and the portions, including the size of the burrito, were perfect! Not too big, not too small. We got our food very quickly. This was our second time here, and both times our server came off as genuinely sweet and helpful. I do believe this place, being as it's new, has opportunity to improve. This is a family business and the servers are actually brother and sister! They're very kind, but could use some more formal training. Overall, the food is authentic and delicious. What a pleasant surprise this morning. Got a late start and were faced with a long wait at the local diner when we saw the sign "now open for breakfast " Two pages of both Mexican and Traditional breakfast selections ! I had the best huevos rancheros, built atop fresh baked tortillas not the usual handful of tortilla chips found in the diner. My wife had a veggie breakfast burrito. The veggies were brightly colored and freshly sautéed , not the usual soggy over cooked fare. Can't wait to get back for a dinner experience!! read more

Tried Mexitacos with friends on a Saturday night. Not sure if it was the company, the food or the staff, but my husband and I truly enjoyed this place. The service was attentive and friendly. From the moment you walk in, you are made to feel welcomed! We started out sharing the Cheese and Spinach Dip which, instead of the usual chips, was served with flour tortillas. This was a nice nibble to accompany our wine. (If you should forget your wine, there is a liquor store about two doors down.) Four of us ordered four different main courses and enjoyed them all. Among them, the Camarones Oaxaca were excellent. The Vegetable Chimichanga was very good and also very large. (Part of my charm is that I can sometimes eat more than my weight!) My friend's husband had a steak dish (sorry I don't recall the exact name, but I do know it was equally as good) and there was one more very good dish which I cannot recall that my husband ordered (I should probably pay more attention to him...) Then we were on to the desserts...and they were fantastic. The churros went well with the Mexican coffee; the delicious apple and peach pie was served with ice cream, and the dulce de leche cake was outstanding! Mexitacos is a really good Tex-Mex food. We had order the chicken nachos that was super good. They layered the nachos really well. We then ordered a steak chimichanga and enchiladas and that was really good as well. Our waitress was super friendly and had great service. I definitely recommend this place. Went in this Saturday for dinner. Been there a few times and had good experiences until this time. Food was amazing as usual but the service was horrible and our waitress was so unfriendly. She kept giving our table nasty looks and it was clear she wasn't thrilled to be serving us. Long wait to get water, menus, and meals. 1 order seafood burrito ($15) without dairy came out with dairy. 1 order with grilled steak enchilado ($15) and no sour cream came with it. Do overs were void of all diary when the grilled steak should have cheese. Do overs took quite awhile. Normal waitering entails checking up on your patrons. Unfortunately, the needs for water, chips, etc. had to be pulled and were not pushed as they should be. Taste of the food was average but not remarkable for the price paid. If you want GREAT mexican food or service at a BYOB place, check out Jaunito's in Red Bank. They've been there for decades and worth the 30 minute ride from Mexitacos. read more

Second time there tonight and was not disappointed either time. Seated right way both times (although both were during the week and before normal dinner hours so I'm not sure what to expect on weekends). We had the Guacamole as an appetizer and it was great. so were the enchiladas and tacos. Interior is very nice looking and id have to say this is one of the better Mexican restaurants in the area. It's also BYOB. There's one male waiter there who is fantastic. We had him the first time and he really enhanced the experience. Mexi Tacos . The place is very small but the decors is nice. Do to it being a tad small it gets loud when there are more than 3 tables being served. It does also gets a little Smokey from the Fajitas. The food is very good nothing super spectacular but not bad by any means. The only reason this place gats a 4 star is the service. I feel the service could of been a tad better. Like taking our plates away so I have room to pay the bill. This review focuses on the quality of service, rather than the food. Both times I have eaten here the food was very good and the portions were adequate. My first visit to this establishment went really well. The waitress(Yessica) was attentive, friendly, and helpful. My second visit didn't go as well as the first. The table cover seemed like it was not cleaned or changed since there were crumbs all over it. After placing our order, it take an inordinate amount time for the food to arrive. Our server, Yessica assured us that our food would be out soon. This is after consuming all the complimentary tortilla chips and salsa. When our meal finally arrived, it was lukewarm. Our server also did not ask if we needed more water or anything else. After finishing our meal, we had to wait a long time for the server to give us the check.
