Always the best home cooked Mexican food.Service par excellence. Our families go to and only Mexican food in NJ

I've had Taqueria Maria's bookmarked for a very long time and finally stopped in this week for dinner. It's very small inside but they have plenty of outdoor seating. They are byob. The menu is huge they literally have something for everyone. They deliver chips to your table as soon as you sit down. We started out with the chunky guac which is literally chucks of avocado, tomatoes and onions. It went well with the tostones. I had the burrito bowl loaded with beans, lettuce rice and salsa. It comes in a crispy shell. My friends got fish and shrimp tacos. Everyone was really happy with their meals. Our server was wonderful and everything came out just how we asked. We can't wait to come back!

This is a family run, hole in the wall restaurant that serves really good Mexican food! I have tried both the red and green vegetarian enchiladas. I prefer the green one as it's much more spicy. The virgin pina coladas are really good too. Service is OK. They have outdoor seating and own parking lot and you can bring your dog.

We had the street corn, pupusas, shrimp chimichanga, and enchiladas rojas. Everything was delicious and tasted so fresh! The staff was very nice. Small restaurant but highly recommend!

Have been coming to TM's for over 7 years. If new ownership think they can keep the name and produce absolute subpar product they are sadly mistaken - and have taken a wonderful hole in the wall serving consistently delicious food and run it into the ground. YOU are offering taco tuesday - any taco $1.50 each. Coincidentally we ordered dinnrr yesterday and it's funny my husband said they're different - we also ordered one taco to check it out to see if we'll want to take advantage of taco tuesday'. We ordered 13. 3 shrimp; 5 ground beef; and 5 fish tacos. we picked up and got home - wow. just awful. you would think we took the tacos on a joyride not to mention there was hardly anything in the tacos. sadly unless they get it together, i can see this place closing soon. shame!

    Queso Enchiladas Verde

One thing I miss from living in Queens for a few years was the hole in the wall mexican takeout spots that had the queso enchiladas verdes which were super spicy and had the melted cheese inside. Some of the places around here got good enchiladas verdes, but not the super cheesy style. Well this place almost hit the mark. I took the chance by placing the order for delivery via Uber Eats. One thing to note is that I don't actually remember the last time I've placed an order for delivery, but I didn't feel like driving 15-20 mins each way to pick it up. Thought it would get a bit too cold when I returned. Unfortunately, the Uber Eats guy took a far bit too long to get my order (including spending an extra 10 mins or so looping around a roundabout way getting to my place), so the order came in like an hour and 10 mins. Welp. At least the driver was remorseful, but this is not the restaurant's fault. With that said, it held up decently well. It's definitely got a kick to it and you can kinda tell by the darkness of the verde sauce. I had to warm it up just like 10 seconds, but it ended up being perfect. The beans & rice were much needed due to the spiciness. I'd likely spend the money to come back here. Maybe I'll actually pick it up for takeout, but it seems worth it to just sit there and eat when I can while it's hot and ready.

I was so pleased with this spot I took a menu, my partner and I will be back (the menu options are EXTENSIVE and I would love to try it all after our initial experience.) The environment inside felt a little cramped but not uncomfortable, we opted for the patio that was parking lot adjacent but felt tucked away enough with the cover and lovely florals they've put along the side. The house salsas are phenomenal, I REALLY could just eat the verde with a spoon, I was pouring it on everything. The service? Top notch care from an older gentleman, speedy and efficient but considerate service from the get of arrival to well past the check; he even brought my partners card to us in the CAR as he had left it behind! I'd highly recommend making this a go to.

Ordered takeout with some friends on Saturday night. Food was authentic and delicious. We ordered empanadas (which were good, just wish they were crispier) I had the Maria's quesadilla and my friend had the chorizo quesadilla. We split it and they were both fabulous. Other friends ordered tacos and said they were also great. Food was fresh and flavorful. Would definitely order from here again!

Small place out of the way. Stumbled upon it while staying overnight in the Monroe Township. Enjoyed a bowl of menudo while here. Food is straight and to the point.... Excellent and authentic. Worth stopping in and checking out.

Great local find!! Came searching for a good local Mexican taqueria. Did not disappoint. Tacos were amazing, and the chimichanga was also top notch. Not greasy, flaky and crispy. Will definitely come back!

Delicious desserts! We got churros and tres leches and they were amazing! Our waiter Guillermo was very kind and the best!

I will weep if they ever close down. Their food is divine. Even their rice is somehow incredible. Their meat bursts with flavor and is tender. I don't order off of their menu; they just have a bunch of hot food buffet style and I just request what I want. I always get their rice with black beans on top. Menu items vary by day but these are common items and some of my favorites: chicken leg, beef ribs, yuka fries, and pork ribs. When I introduced this place to my boyfriend, he fell in love too. When I asked what he would do if it ever shut down, he said he would kidnap the ladies working there (joking, of course). But he did say seriously if he knew ahead of time he would be willing to pay for their recipes. The friendliness of service depends on who's serving you, but no one is rude. They're just straight to the point. The inside is always clean - I just never eat in there since I just pile a bunch of food in a takeout container and bring it home for several meals. My boyfriend can finish it in one go if he's starving though. I always get a takeout box to go, and tbh the only downside is I don't know how much it is until they check out. They don't weigh it either, but I'm sure they have some type of formula? A box is usually around $22 BUT that's with A LOT of food stashed in there that I ask for. It's worth it. Another thing is that their soups, while delicious, are overly salted like crazy! So I usually skip that. Or if you really want to try it, you can dilute it with water and reheat it. A hidden gem overall - Must try! Who would've knew a quiet strip mall can hold some of the best food I've ever had.

The only small thing I'd change is that I wish the fresh-squeezed orange juice had been chilled or offered over ice. I didn't ask, though, so I can't really count that against them. The carne asada omelette was delicious--perfectly fluffy, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The tres leches French toast had a beautifully crisp, toasted exterior while staying soft and moist in the center. We were lucky enough to be seated immediately, and the staff was friendly and accommodating, even letting us choose where we wanted to sit. The restaurant has a cute atmosphere with tasteful decor, good music, and a comfortable noise level. The restrooms were clean and updated, and parking was easy and conveniently close. Since we visited on a holiday, parking was even free. Overall, it was a wonderful brunch and a great way to start the day. One thing to note: the specialty drinks are all mocktails, so if you're looking for bottomless mimosas or a boozy brunch, this probably isn't the place for that.
