Sides were ok but nothing spectacular. The Schnitzel used to be another favorite but didn't try it this time. Service - (3.5/5) - similar to before the service was average. Not sure what it is but you just don't get that welcoming feeling from the server/bartenders here. Food and drink came out fairly quickly though. Atmosphere - (3.75/5) - its a small place with lots of ethnic artifacts on the walls. Wooden tables, small bar and some TVs. They do seasonal decorations which is a nice touch. Overall - (3.5/5) - its an ok place and maybe it's a better experience if you are Polish? Personally, Barrel House (Ukrainian) down the street is a better choice imo.

After walking by for months and seeing the sign for their own Kanu Lager, I obviously had to order that. It's a very simple, very tasty lager that's super easy to drink. I'll definitely be drinking it again. I was feeling a little peckish, too, so I asked to see a menu. Everything sounded really tasty, so I asked for a recommendation and wound up with the Calamari Rings. They're surprisingly, shockingly good. They're perfectly fried and enhanced by a really tasty (and spicy) dipping sauce. I also want to single out the ambience and the service, both of which were tremendously appealing. It's a small, dark bar, which I love, and my server was helpful without being intrusive. I really don't know why it took me so long to check out Kanu. It's a really cool little place and I'm looking forward to stopping by on a regular basis in the future.

It was great too, although the dressing could have a bit more garlic - I'm also biased on this topic :) Service was quite fast and all servers were courteous, and wearing masks. The pub also offers a lesser known, and therefore quiet back patio with a few tables and large umbrellas. And I'm not talking about the one you see right when you walk out the back door. There is another one behind that. I only found out about it when I left, but it was quite welcoming and I will consider going again to sit at the (second) back patio!
