Stopped in for the first time this evening and really enjoyed it! Classic gyro was delicious, as were the fries. My wife and I shared an order of fries which was perfect, they give you a lot. The tsatziki sauce was a bit thicker than I'm used to, probably made with Greek yogurt, but tasted great. I also thought that the meat could have used a bit more seasoning but, again, tasted great. We ordered food from them via Grubhub on this app and while a bit clunky (not the restaurant's fault) I liked the ease of it. I was a little taken aback by the cost of dinner for two, but I can honestly tell you that every bite of everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Meat was overdone, tough and very chewy in gyro. They even asked how I want the lamb cooked (?) and I said medium rare. May have been the most expensive and worst gyro I have had. Yesterday, we went to Mezedes in Loveland. I highly recommend everyone go and try it. While we had decided to go for take out, we had a beer while we waited. We chose a locally brewed beer from Highgrain that was delightful. The staff was super nice and our food came out quickly. The place is beyond clean, it cute and generally a very nice atmosphere. The food went above and beyond our expectations. My daughter said it was the best burger she's ever had! My gyro was sooooo yummy! We certainly plan on going back soon and often! I am not too proud to admit but I am a food delivery addict, especially during COVID times. I usually order from places that I have physically been to and am familiar with but some menu items are just not meant for delivery. That being said one day I was really wanting a shawarma and searched DoorDash. I came across Mezedes and the menu had my mouth watering. For my first order I decided to try a variety of menu items that would keep for a few meals. I ordered the horiatiki salad, spanokopita, a classic gyro and of course baklava. The food came well packed, what was supposed to be hot was hot and the rest perfect. It was delicious! I have ordered a couple of times since then and the food has been consistently good. So delicious!! This was my first meal not prepared by me in my kitchen since the quarantine started--so about 3 months. I picked up our meal to go and it did not disappoint! I ordered: Spanakopita, Tiropita, pita bread w/spicy feta dip (yum!), veggie gyro, Souvlaki w/chicken, fries, and baklava. Everything is so fresh and flavorful! The phyllo is light and airy, and nothing felt heavy or greasy. It is obvious that this food is made with care and love. It was extra delightful since I'd been eating at home for so long. I like to eat local and small shops as much as I can, so I was excited when mezedes opened and have been anxious to try it out. I stopped by on a Saturday by myself. This restaurant is new, in the old Pizza Tower, so I had questions about the menu. The staff was friendly and patient, answering all of my questions and suggesting items based on what I like. I ended up ordering the Philly Gyro, packed with delicious shaved meat, peppers, onions, and mushrooms on a provolone covered pita. It was delicious. My fiancé ordered the Souvlaki Gyro, which had a great helping of chicken on it, fresh feta, and even French fries among other toppings. Born in Greek and raise in Ohio, this family restaurant pack there bags to Ohio with authentic recipes. With a simple and quiet atmosphere, these two ladies (Mon and daughter) provide meals with a great mix of taste and flavors. I always enjoy menu handwritten on board and that personal connection between owner-client that makes you feel like you're in another country. The Orzo pasta salad is more than good, I highly recommended, with well balance flavors and texture were incredibly good. I've eaten here a few times now and have not been disappointed. The Gyros are large with tons of meat. The fries are crisp and hot. But the burgers are where it's at. My wife and I shipped here for a quick bit after seeing some good reviews. We would agree with many others that this is a great value with good food, friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. We had the Spanakopita which was flavorful and flaky. I had the Classic Gyro and my wife had the Souvlaki Gyro. Both very good with generous portions of meat. But, we were most impressed with the Baklava which was a letter slice and had great flavor. It was good cold but it would have been even better slightly warmed. read more
