Their sauce is one of the best you'll ever have over eggplant parm, so good. They bring out warm bread with seasoned oil to dip. Don't be too quick to jJudge this Pizza Place and it's restaurant small size. They serve Italian dishes that will make you smile. I, also loved the Chicken Francese. We have eaten here for years and enjoyed it. But yesterday the pasta I had (penne) was not heated through or drained well so I had a soupy cool dish. My husband had ravioli, same story not hot or drained well. He sent his back to be heated through. I took mine home. I waste of money. They need a better cook. I was driving back to Ponte Vedra from Orlando and decided to stop here for some pizza. The restaurant is in the Halifax Plantation shopping center near Publix. It has 6 tables for indoor dining, and also does a pretty good takeout business. I wanted to order a medium pie with pepperoni and mushrooms. My kind waitress, Gina, informed me that a large pizza would actually be cheaper as they had a special on Tuesday nights. I gladly accepted her suggestion and appreciated the heads up. Some time ago the place started charging extra for using a credit card. By their own admission, 80% of the customers use a card -- so it's a grab of another 2.5% blatantly, rather than bake it into their prices. It's a pizza joint. I can go elsewhere for less -- and will. read more

Service. They hang up on me after being put on hold several different times. My most recent order had the wrong quantity of items. I ordered one Stromboli and 2 pieces of Sicilian style pizza with pepperoni. I received and was charged for 2 Stromboli and 1 plain piece of Sicilian and one pepperoni Sicilian. Even worse the trend lately is everything I'd burned. Overcooked , even when you ask them not to burn it. We loved this place for 3 years but we have been "burned" too many time. The is our daughters favorite place to get pizza not only does she like the pizza but she loves the Stromboli with the sesame seeds and the salads. We always eat outside when we stop here. One bite....everybody knows the rules! Best pizza in the area, without a doubt. With by the slice or a whole pie, this is my go to. The thin crust is perfectly crispy and they always have the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. Going beyond pizza...I love the stromboli. The meatball sub is good but I add Parmesan to make it pop. Used to be our favorite pizza place in Ormond Beach. But just got a pizza & 2 slices of Stromboli and it has seeds on top of it(1st time) my husband can't have seeds!! Completed a taste test of the two pizzerias in the area at the Old Dixie | I95 exit. Mezzaluna's was Florida real good (nice flavor and crunch). They beat out the other place because with the crisp undercarriage (easy to fold with dat snap), good on the speed (no bs, get the slices in the oven and out). Overall for Florida they are really good, not great... missing that pop that says hands down I'm coming back because that pie is FIRE!!! read more

I came to pick up a takeout order, there were two people in front of me ordering with the two girls behind the counter, so I sat and waited my turn. They both seen me. In the meantime , a man came in from outside and returned a takeout order because they gave him the wrong food. Instead of disposing of it, they gave it to the right customer. the Health Dept would love that one! I was sitting on the chairs, waiting my turn and a couple walked in and they decided to take them instead of me . So between serving people the food that was taken out of the building by the wrong customer and then they re-served it and then flat out ignored me until I spoke up, I just left. The girl with all that make up on is the one that ignored me. However, the other one could've spoke up. they both made eye contact with me. Great authentic southern Italian Fare! We are so thankful that this establishment exists so close to our winter home here in Florida. My wife and I are both avid fans of southern Italian "red sauce house" food and Mezzaluna's takes us back to Sunday dinner with Nona! They are from North Jersey so we get to have the food we love from our NY/NJ roots while staying in Florida. I have yet to find an Italian red sauce place that compares anywhere in Florida aside from their sister locations with the same name. The location was nice and quiet compared to other pizza places in the Ormond area cough cough less vagrants walking about in the park long lot. They can make the pizza as you order it and it's a family business so they are frank if they make a error. I tried a speciality white slice and a regular cheese slice. The wine was inexpensive compared to other restaurants. The inside seating is served by a nice waitress and she was attentive. I will probably try the place again. read more
