Been here many times, but tonight was very special. They had a problem with their beer. The keg they put on turned out not to be Peroni.... Which happens to be one of my favorites The manager went out of his way to make sure that we were happy and saved what could've been a very mediocre night. I am now a firm lover of this place. Sad I wanted this long to try them! We had fantastic service out on the patio despite the place growing busier by the minute. While the patio is nicely designed and has comfy wicker chairs, the parking lot traffic does take a bit from the ambiance. But hey, how often can I dine outside in Florida without dying of heat or mosquitos or drowning in a downpour. They had a ton of delicious specials going but I like to try places for the first time based on my favorite dishes. However, I can't pass up octopus carpaccio and while it was delicious, the slices stuck to the plate which the waiter attributed to being outside where it warmed up. Next time, calamari for sure! I got the fettuccine bolognese as I'm still chasing a sauce that isn't just ground beef added to marinara. I'm happy to say it's the best bolognaise I've found in Central Florida! Their pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was rich and not overly tomatoey or sweet like most places. It also was fully tossed so it clung to the noodles. Dad was in a pizza mood but was definitely temped by the veal chop special. He ended up with the all in pie and I knew it was a winner when he ate the crust. Our first visit was great. A friend recommended this place ( a fairly picky Italian friend), he said it was some of the best Italian he's had in the area. We were seated right away and while it's not a big place, we didn't feel crowded. They were busy, good sign, it appears they have a pretty regular clientele. We had beef carpaccio to start and the fried meatballs. Both were excellent and we finished both. We were pretty full, but wanted to try the pizza. We got a large meat pizza and it was perfectly crispy and really flavorful. We took most of it home since we were so full, but we knew we'd have leftovers going in. Our server Raphael was awesome-friendly and attentive. We will definitely return, looking forward to trying the rest of their menu. read more

Dine in | $20-30 I have no words to describe how bad my experience was!!! The server was nice tried his best to make the experience better BUT CHARLIE the so called manager.... wow he needs to either get some new training or be fired. He completely just stared at me the entire time i felt so out of place being the only black customer there and he made me feel like i didn't belong there. Those cold eyes were staring at me the entire time. My partner got his soup ( it was the wrong soup mind you) either way his soup was delicious but me I had to wait 15 minutes from mine to come out. I ordered the mushroom soup it was so sour it tasted old and straight out of a can. So that's the first thing that I had to send back....... the next thing was our entrees...... my partner's penne vodka was so salty and my chicken alfredo was so watery and lacks flavor. Charlie the manager went to every other table to ask how their dining experience was going and skipped over our table not once but twice and continue to give me dirty looks the entire time we were there. You would think as a manager you see that your customers are sending food back you would think that you would come over and say anything at all to try to rectify the situation but nope. As we left the restaurant Charlie gave me one last dirty look and did not apologize for our evening said absolutely nothing to us as we walk past him to leave this terrible restaurant. The server did mention that the chef was on maternity leave and I thought okay maybe we can come back and try the food again when the chef is actually there to cook the meals to change the ratings but after Charlie the so-called manager once again said absolutely nothing to us I will never step foot in there again. Complete disappointment! I went here with my lady Sunday evening to get some dinner, and honestly, the service was horrible from start to finish. It took 20 minutes just to get menus in our hands. We ordered soup to start, and I received the wrong soup. My woman's soup didn't come out until 15 minutes after mine, and it tasted like it came straight out of a can. Then, after waiting almost an hour, our entrées finally arrived -- Penne Vodka and Fettuccine Alfredo. The Penne Vodka was so incredibly salty that I felt like I was going to get a kidney stone from it. My woman's Alfredo was literally swimming in water. Even the complimentary bread became an issue. Our waiter specifically asked, "Do you want to keep the complimentary bread?" We both clearly said YES, and the man proceeded to take it away anyway. Absolutely mind-boggling. The explanation we received for the poor quality of the food was that the chef was on vacation and the owners were cooking in the kitchen. Regardless of who is cooking, customers should not have to pay for food that is this poorly prepared. And then there was the manager, Charley. Throughout our visit, he repeatedly stared at my woman with the meanest look on his face, making her feel extremely uncomfortable the entire time. That kind of behavior from management is completely unacceptable. I will never eat here again. Between the terrible service, extremely long wait, poorly prepared food, and the way we were treated, this experience was absolutely unacceptable. And if you are a person of color, I would seriously think twice before coming here. The way we were treated made us feel like we were being viewed as criminals rather than paying customers. This place is kind of squeezed in a strip mall and could really use more space. The bar is in use as a staging area/banquette for table settings, napkins, etc. The tables are close, and the chairs are close to the tables. Our booth did not feel large enough but we could not further move the benches because others were sitting on that side. The bench did move when my husband was sitting down, so I think some adjustment might be possible. The place was clean. I didn't use the bathroom. The tables are not covered but they are wiped between customers, the chairs sometimes too. Service was family friendly and very casual, For example, when our pizza started to be really late, our server commented on it and checked on it but there were a lot of take out orders. We saw a lot of take out being picked up. The waiter, once he started on our table (which as not immediate), did regularly follow up on our beers and our order. We got there at 4:30is and we were done by 5:30pm, so really the overall turnaround wasn't that bad. We really just wanted pizza on this trip and we were not disappointed. When the pizza arrived it was fresh delicious, crispy and flavorful. The sauce is noticeably fresh and good. There is plenty of cheese and toppings. I will say the toppings were not evenly distributed - some pieces had sausage and some did not. Some pieces had more bell pepper or mushroom than others. There was a lot on the menu we didn't try! Salads, appetizers including arancini and all your favorite Italian dishes like ravioli and lasagna are all available. We need to make another trip to try the other stuff. BTW, we were given bread and oil even though we were having pizza, which was nice and kept us from suffering too much while we were waiting. All in all, this place seems great. For pizza, I might do take out. Or maybe not. The draft beer is well priced and nice and cold. Can't get that at home. There is also an extensive wine list which will be good when we try some of the other dishes. This place is popular. Parking isn't a problem, but I think getting a table can be. We just driven six hours from South Carolina and we're not in the mood to go out to a restaurant. My daughter suggested Don Giovanni's. They go there multiple times it's a nice place that has good service. They like the atmosphere there. We did takeout. Their pizzas were excellent. We had a plain and a sausage . My wife and I were born and raised in a New York metropolitan area and are definitely Pizza snobs. The pizzas were excellent. I also enjoyed the salad and the anti pasta. I snacked on the anti pasta for the next two days. As well as lunch on the leftover pizza, which was good leftover I definitely would go back again. read more

I have no idea why it's taken me so long to review this place - we discovered it shortly after we moved to the area 3 years ago and are frequent customers. First, a lovely little restaurant which also offers outdoor seating. First, if you like Amarone, get a glass (or bottle!) of the "baby Amarone" - Giovanni the delightful owner recommended it to us the first time we went! Speaking of Giovanni, the service is always amazing - special shoutout to Pietro who always takes my takeout pizza order and recently waited on us too (always take his recommendations - he's never failed me!) We've tried multiple menu items as have our guests who've visited and all are delicious (great-granddaughter at 3 years old pronounced the fettuccine Alfredo the "best pasta in the whole world!") Our current favorites: hubs loves the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe; I love the sachetti filled with pear and cheese and served in a Gorgonzola sauce. We started with Calamari and Arancini...both delicious. The group tried a few options to share, with a variety of pizza and pasta. The gnocchi was perfectly cooked with an amazing vodka sauce. We had one meat pizza, one gluten free "supreme" type and last (and my fav) the Bianca. We've eaten a lot of white pizza across the US and in Italy, and this one was right at the top! We sat down and the place was super cute. Lots of ambiance and the owner was on the floor helping the customers. Wine selection was big and I had a Prosecco. Apps we had the homemade fried mozzarella and the garlic bread both hot and super fresh. For entrees we had lasagna, chicken picatta, chicken bruschetta and chicken rollatini. The rollatini was the winner Gorgonzola cream sauce and chicken stuffed with ham, spinach, mozzarella and fried. Legit so good !! All came with salad and pasta such a good deal. I read alot about the restaurant before bringing 4 members of my family. I was moderately disappointed. Came in at 6:30 and stood at the door until 7. The owner signaled me from across the restaurant with his finger "2"? I signaled him back 5 while the others waited in the heat. Around 7 we were signaled in a similar manner by a server who also walked away. We told them we were ok with a booth when it opened up and they sat us. Still, 20 minutes later, no water or anyone tending to us. Eventually they pushed tables together and we still had no service!
