I got the fettuccine bolognese as I'm still chasing a sauce that isn't just ground beef added to marinara. I'm happy to say it's the best bolognaise I've found in Central Florida! Their pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was rich and not overly tomatoey or sweet like most places. It also was fully tossed so it clung to the noodles. Dad was in a pizza mood but was definitely temped by the veal chop special. He ended up with the all in pie and I knew it was a winner when he ate the crust. We were offered a choice of bread or garlic bread. We opted for the garlic bread. Soft, warm, with just the right amount of garlic and butter. We started with the stuffed artichoke. I think we would have liked it better if the artichoke were a bit more "meaty." Most of the leaves were just breading with a sliver of artichoke. We were then brought our dinner salads. They were large. Lots of fresh ingredients. You could almost make a meal of just the salad. My husband had the lasagna which came with a meatball, and I had the Mario Combo which includes chicken parmesan and lasagna with a side of spaghetti. The servings were generous and hearty. The sauce very good. I judge Italian restaurants by their sauce, and this one was a nice thick blend of tomatoes and spices. What was interesting is that the spaghetti sauce seemed just a bit sweeter. We needed carryout containers for the leftovers and they packaged them very nicely. Took a star off for the stuffed artichoke which wasn't very flavorful. Also while the food was good, there was something almost sloppy about the presentation.
