Hard time giving an accurate rating because I absolutely love my nurse practitioner(s)- they deserve 5 stars! but the front desk service can be very frustrating. Many times, the people answering the phones are rude and impatient. Filling prescriptions, rescheduling appointments, as well as getting in touch with NPs or doctors directly can be very Challenging. If it weren't for my amazing nurse practitioners, I would likely relocate to a new office. read more

There is always an easy check in and never a very long waiting time to be seen. Dr. Mann is very thorough and caring and willing to work with me concerning any conditions I have encountered. Our family have been treated badly here, and I've grown to actually feel angry, which is unlike any experience I've had at a Dr. office before. Some of the medical staff are good, if you can get past the rest of the staff. Lab results, prescriptions, billing-- these are all big problem areas for this office. This is the Worst Dr office ever. Nadine Mcall almost killed my husband because of her ignorance to his allergic reaction to Lisiprol. My husband went in for rotor cuff shoulder after 45 minutes they needed to rush him to Beverly ICU unit. Nadine KNEW my husband was having issue with lisiprol but his concerns were blow off. He went into Anaphylaxis, had to be put in a medical induced coma and was on a breathing tube. Dr Allara had the balls to come visit the next day while was husband was still in a coma. I told him to get the F away from my husband and that Nadine is the work women ever. Thank fully my husband was taking off life support and has very few long lasting issues. I NEVER received a phone call from Family Medicine to see if my husband was okay. However Dr. Allara had the balls to show up at the hospital two days after they could remove the tubes to see how he was doing! I told him to get the f away from my husband since you didn't care for him before why do you care now. I guess he wanted to make sure he wasn't being sued. That place is a joke and ALL the staff is horrible. If you don't like your job maybe you should find a new one. My husband still goes there, after many arguments, he thinks everyone is so nice there. My husband doesn't have a good judge of character. I was looking thru his medical records that I downloaded and come to find out he has has issue since 2014 with his blood. Every letter we got said everything was within normal range... Guess what it isn't. He has issue with his kidney and liver from 2014 that we were unaware of and NOW he has Rheumatoid Arthritis that should have been diagnosed in 2014. The best care for this type of arthritis is early detection... Well they dropped the ball on that one by 4 years. He lost a lot of ability to use his hand and his knees. He is in his early 50 by the way. He is unable to do his job well anymore... Too young to retire too old to get a new job. Thanks for all your shitty care. read more

Thank God I didn't have a seriously sick child because it is impossible to get an appointment. I called two days in a row, once I left a message and the other time the phone just rang. I also went to their website and requested an appointment, no response. In adddition to not being able to answer the phone, the staff incorrectly submitted a perscription refill for my husband. It is really unfortunate because Dr. Mann and several of the nurse practitioners are great. Something needs to be done about the office staff. read more

Despite some of the real nasty reviews on here, as a current patient at Middleton Family Medicine, and I love the staff and treatment provided here. Although I cannot say I had great experiences with each doctor, fnp, or np, I saw, I can still definitely say that no matter where u r in life, that will happen. They are super great about changing doctors if you don't feel comfortable too! They really do cater to the patient's needs here. Not only that, but i would love to debunk what others have said about 'desk staff not relaying messages to doctors.' I know for a fact that they do, but unless it is super urgent, the doctor will get back to u within a certain amount of time. In any case, if its a true emergency, you should be going to the hospital. Middleton Family Medicine has also recently expanded which has allowed specialists to come in. It's super convenient to not have to drive to a different place! Not only that but I believe that they have promoted comprehensive health care by doing it this way. Doctors are able to easily communicate. At the end of the day, Middleton Family Medicine always tries their best to care for their patients. This office may not be the fit for you, but it is absolutely worth the try! read more

DONOT GO HERE. These people are so unprofessional it's disgusting. Paula the nurse practitioner is an idiot and never gets things done in a timely manner. Had to wait two days to fill a simple medication that should have been filled the first few hours I requested it. She is short mannered and rushed me out of my check up. Dr. Yoon was great but the staff is TERRIBLE. I left this place a while ago because of their staff. I found them difficult to deal with, unfriendly, rude and they messed up my prescriptions. When you asked them to help you out it was always at THEIR convenience, not YOURS! If you call and left a message, good luck to them getting back to you. I always had to call them 2-3 times and when I finally got through I found they talked over me before hearing me out and sometimes were just nasty. No thanks, I moved on. read more

I recently had a bad experience with Janice Thoen. I sent feedback to the administration conveying my disappointment and frustration that I was treated aggressively and rudely when requesting certain lab work. In response, Janice herself responded saying it was "unfortunate you felt your visit did not go well" not even apologizing genuinely or taking any responsibility for being the cause of my bad visit. I was disappointed my feedback wasn't taken more seriously by the staff and will be finding a more open minded and friendly practice. read more

I have been going here for years, I only give it a four out of five because like another review, I have never met Dr. Allara. It would be nice for him to stick his head in one day and introduce himself. What must he be doing? Makes me wonder? I have been there many times and have never laid eyes on him?. With that being said, I have met MANY of the PA's and EACH one of them has been kind, caring, patient, funny and easy to talk to! I have found the front desk staff to be very nice and welcoming, just yesterday I called and a young man answered the phone that could not be more polite! I left my old practice due to them setting up an appointment one week later when I called in for what I knew was a sinus infection. I KNOW I can always count on someone to see me THE DAY I call FMA. Yes, its never my doctor, but I do get taken care of, that's what I want! Now I can go there and work with Dr. Butler, a foot doctor, no more having to go to Peabody. Nice looking office too! If you are deciding where to go to get, prompt, professional, and personal care, look no further, you have found it. By the way, please don't tell all your friends, because there is never a long wait and I don't want them to become too popular and as a result, extend my waiting area time Oh, and one last thing, if you were a good patient, you can go and treat yourself after your visit to Richardson's ice cream across the street ;)))) read more

I can't say anything bad about the MDs at this office. They are great. HOWEVER, I can say that the receptionist is the rudest person I have ever encountered. I have had three bad experiences with the same woman. She is rude on the phone, rude in person and makes it very clear she does not like her job! There is a high unemployment rate, perhaps someone else would be happy to be there. Great doctors, TERRIBLE client services. read more

I have been going to this practice since they were in the small office space up the street. I have always received an appointment the same day I call and have received exceptional care. The hours are far longer than any other office, I never wait more than 5 minutes to be seen and the staff is professional and caring. I would never think of changing to another practice. read more

Dr. Burrer provides excellent care and is very personable. he customizes the visit to your needs, and he makes it a point to get to know your issues, your preferences, and you. You're definitely not rushed during his visits. I would highly recommend him. read more

I have been a patient at family medical for the past three years. When I called to notify them I was running just a few minutes late for my last physical I was unapologetically told that they wouldn't hold the appointment for five minutes but rather, cancelled the appointment and charged me a missed appointment fee despite the fact that I arrived a mere seven minutes late. It is now 3:10 and I am sitting in the waiting room with dozens of other patients waiting for my 2:45 appointment. Clearly the doctors don't hold themselves to the same standards of timeliness they hold their patients. Based on my experience in the past few months with this place, this practice does not even deserve a one star. Appointments cancelled 1 hour before appointment is scheduled....patient's arrange for time off work to make appointments!!!. Rude and unprofessional NP!! How do you send someone to a test that is expensive, have the results sent to your office and say that you can't read the results?? Instead you want the patient to spend more time and money going to a different specialty, that you recommend, to read results that you can simply fax to the specialist??? Talk of money making strategy! And when asked why no preventative education was done in regards to abnormal lab results....you should schedule a call back time if you don't have enough time during the call, instead you respond, "I DON'T HAVE TIME TO DISCUSS, I CAN'T EXPLAIN..."??? Don't forget patients and their family members are also in the medical fields, we smell the nonsense play. I agree with the unsatisfied reviews...stay away from this place!! read more

I am an absolute fan of Dr. Allara, and love the front desk and check out personnel. The only issue I have is with calling in requests. Scott is wonderful, however whoever that other gentleman is, he is no gentleman. I wish I could remember his name. He is whiny, rude and should not be dealing with people who need help. When asked if records had been sent into the insurance company for my husband, he started whining about not having been able to get his other work done that day yet. Why was this even told to me?? Did no one ever teach him customer service skills? When you're talking with customers, you listen to their problems, not tell them yours. And, you try to solve them, to the best of your ability. I wasn't being rude at all, but he was very rude. I explained what I needed, and every time I talked, he would do an exasperated sigh. At the end of our conversation, I thanked him for his help and he never said a word. He just hung up. Why he has not been fired yet, I don't know. read more

Front office staff was never very helpful and recently when I went to another PCP instead of telling me they could transfer all my medical records directly to the new PCP at no charge they charged me $50 for the records! I have seen Dr. Allara for over 6 years and I found him to be friendly but non-empathetic. Over the years my blood counts have deteriorated and was sent to see specialist in a variety of fields with no conclusive results. His reply from then forward was draw blood and watch, as time went on symptoms got worse but his reply was the same. One day I received a call from an on duty Dr very concerned about my results and Dr. Allaras reply was he was, that Dr. was not familiar with my blood work and will run another test, I agreed and requested he call me directly due to its severity. He never called and just sent an email. That day I left the practice and went to a new PCP and within one month was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer. So what Dr. Allara called "normal" for me was way off base. I say go at your own risk to Dr.Allara. read more

As someone who works in the health care field, I am very selective about my providers. I am so happy to have found this practice. I like Dr Allara and think he is excellent but I usually see Jarra, the NP. Jarra is excellent also and I cannot say enough positive things about her. I think she is very competent, thorough, professional and advocates for your health care, which is not always easy to find. In addition, she is pleasant, listens to your concerns and is kind and non judgmental. I feel that I could discuss anything with her. I was surprised by some other reviews because the few times that I have been sick, I have been able to get an appointment the same day. I have always had good experiences all around, from the providers, to the staff at the desk, and people in the lab. Recently, I saw another NP, Angela, and I could say the same things about her as I do Jarra. I believe this is one of the best practices north of Boston! read more
