They run the campus clinic at Endicott college. My daughter went there for an office visit - they checked her breathing and prescribed antibiotics. She was there for 10 minutes. Level of care was fine. But we were billed $375 for this because my daughter was a "new patient". My wife went for an office visit here in CT for the exact same issues - $126. After a number of discussions with their billing folks at the campus and main office and having a great conversation with DR Ting - they are going to resubmit with a different billing code to lower the cost to 194 - very much appreciated. I still would suggest asking pricing up front especially for the college clinic since there are bound to be so many "new" patients as students roll through. read more

I just switched over to MFM and I am SO happy that I did. The nurse who checked me in and checked my vitals was so personable and funny; and my NP was thorough. You could tell she truly loves her job, as well as her patients. I also really liked that they are up to date with technology, I signed in with an iPAD and thought that was great as well ! I had labs done, and the next day I heard from my NP, the service was great and I will recommend this office to anyone of my family and friends looking to switch. As much as I am happy I made the switch, there are a few things they could work on. The ladies answering the phones, and the ladies at the front desk. Customer Service & a Smile goes a long way ladies ! As well as the ladies taking your blood for labs, woooah the lady I had was horrible, stuck me and went right through the vein, I told her and she didn't seem to care, a week later still sore and horrific bruise. Very sloppy care. My son was prescribed an antibiotic for an ear infection, when the dr told me what he prescribed I asked are you sure he isn't allergic to that. The dr. never referred to his record and now my 3 year old son has a serve very itchy rash across his entire face and body. I went back to the office to see what we should do. The NP told us that he should take Benadryl. I had already picked some up on the way to the office. I asked her how much he should take as the box said for a 3 yr old to consult a physician. Annoyed that I was asking as she could see I had the box in hand, she told me to read the box. Even if it was on the box, she could have confirmed the amount. The kicker to this, I needed them to give his daycare permission to administer the Benadryl. I didn't know this until I dropped my son at daycare so I called the dr office and they said they would send it over. I got a call from the daycare several hours later stating they hadn't received it yet so I call the dr office again. They never sent it - so my son could not receive his meds and had no relief. The next morning I went to the office to ensure the daycare would have permission. The reception looked at me and said I personally faxed it - I took a deep breath and said this happens with faxes. But when she went to get a copy she had to admit to me that it was never written and I would have to wait for someone to write it. I left a message for the Dr. to call me and discuss the situation and 3 days later I still haven't received a call. There are a few that I like in the office - but you can't be guaranteed who you will see. So we found a new dr. They may seem convenient in the center of town - but when they put you at risk and require you to manage your care - it is worth an extra 5 min drive someplace else. read more

I have seen all of the doctors in the practice and have found all of them to be thorough and caring. They have all called immediately upon receiving test and lab results. Whenever I have an urgent medical concern for myself or any of my kids, they have always been able to get me in the same day. Sure, if you want to see Dr. Allara for your annual physical, because he's your primary, you will need to book in advance. But shouldn't your annuals be booked in advance anyway? If you need to be seen at a moment's notice, you are in good hands with any of the doctors or nurse practitioners at Family Medicine. read more

I have been with Doctor Allara for many years and I echo the same comments that the care is good but the staff never answers emails or returns calls. I am staying because in recent times I have been getting a gentleman by the name of Scott who has promptly taken care of my issues. The latest one was when I was in a specialists office and needed a referral, Scott got on the phone and had it there while I waited!!! In summary, I think they went through a rough time when they separated but I am hoping that with the addition of people like Scott things will get better. Anthony read more

This place went from "good" to "serviceable" to "avoid at all costs" -I have an issue EVERY. SINGLE. MONTH. for my prescription. I have wasted countless hours on the phone with their staff to resolve this - but here we are 5 years later and it continues. -Prescriptions that require ANY prior authorization take a minimum of 5 business days to get filled....if they ever get to it. -You are on THEIR time, nothing will be expedited, arranged, or fixed outside of their normal business procedure. Even if the original delay was their mistake. -I have heard the phrase "I've marked this as urgent..." or "I have personally asked that the doctor/PA call you..." only to have 7-14 days go by without any resolution. Bottom line: If you want mediocre care, tons of frustration, and a horrifically impersonal touch: Middleton Family Medicine is for you. Beware of being overcharged for minor procedures. During a recent wellness exam I mentioned to my dr. That I had a small wart. She offered to remove it which took about 2 minutes. I got the bill and was charged for my wellness exam pus another dr. visit and $250 for the removal. My bill was an extra $425. If I was told this would be the case I would have tried to remove it with a over the counter product. I am very disappointed and frustrated and felt I should have been informed of the extra charges. I called this office to make an appointment for my family member, and a receptionist was extremely rude and yelled at me. Anger management might be well advised to this lady. I would not trust this facility with healthcare of my family (and even a family pet) if they allow this angry person to represent their business. No matter how good their doctors are, if their receptionist is that unprofessional, I would never come back. Luckily for us there are MANY excellent doctors in Boston area, and we have plenty of choices (which include many polite receptionists who know how to talk to patients and their family members without raising their blood pressure unnecessary. read more

Reception is rude, slow, and ultimately unhelpful. When calling for a question or to make an appointment you are treated as if you're bothering and inconveniencing the person who is answering. Almost impossible to get an appointment with a NP never mind trying to get an appointment with an actual doctor. Prescriptions are frequently messed up and it is an impossible process to get them fixed. Don't let them tell you they will call you back or have someone call you, because they won't. I do not recommend this doctors office unless you have absolutely no other option. read more

My daughter and I started with this facility 3 years ago, after moving to Mass from the Midwest. We received nothing but incompetency from ALL staff members. To end our relationship with this facility, I requested our records to the tune of $25.00. instead of $25.00, they charged my bank card $2,500.00. To top off this mistake, they were not even going to tell me about the charge. When confronted, the office manager, Scott told me "don't worry about it, it will be returned by midnight." The money was NOT back in my account, nor will it be back in my account for 4-5 business days. I requested financial help from this facility to help my family get through the weekend and the following 4-5 days of insufficient charges and a negative balance in our account t. I was told by Angela (in the financial Dept.) that she spoke to "powers that be" and that "no, they were not going to help assist my family financially." This was the end to a long stretch of incompetency as related to this entire company to include the medical staff. I would HIGHLY suggest that if you are reading this, Do not consider these doctors or their staff to take care of your health. They are not competent enough to handle a small transaction let alone your health. They are not compassionate after making this huge mistake. No only are we accruing NSF fees, late mortgage payments, but weekend plans as a family had to be cancelled and the simplest of this things like food and gas must wait 4-5 days. This is not how you would be treated if you lived in the Midwest. read more

My children are both teens and have been patients of Dr. Meghan Tramontozzi for about 18 months. This Doctor is so patient and makes us feel like we are the only patients in the entire practice when they see her. She's Extremely laid back and calm. She also has several Nurse Practitioners Nel, Kaitlin and Brittany who are amazing! They genuinely care about our family. Their follow up on appointments and prescriptions is on point and have never been an issue. And I love the front desk staff (despite some other reviews) This is a practice that you must consider. Clean, easy to park and I have never waited more than 10 Minutes to see her in the 18 months that we have been here!!! That is a huge accomplishment for a primary care center. Happy with my doctors, unhappy with phone service. I recently called in, told them my doctor, my name, and which prescriptions I needed. I then tried to give the location of my CVS, there being 3 on my file and got asked for the phone number. I gave it, and then got told it was all set. The CVS confirmation has it on the link, saying it was at 1 of the other 2. Of course I didn't realize it until after going to the one I asked it to be at. I then call and ask for that to be cancelled and have it re-sent to the 1 I asked for. (2 of these CVS' are more than 50 miles apart, about an hour from my house). I got a call the next day from someone on their team telling me that it's extra effort but they can do it and it will take longer. First of all this has happened before and I never received a call. Second, extra effort? I apologized but this wouldn't have had to happen if whoever I spoke to on the phone, would have just sent it to the one I asked for like they said they did. So really it's extra effort for the both of us and no apologize was ever said, made it seem like it was my fault. Why would I ask it to go to one where I won't be at anytime soon? I didn't mind until that last phone call. This is not the first time I've had issues with this similar situations along with 1 prescription being sent not both. Guess that's why they got the online portal! read more

Let me start this off. Dr Allara, Dr Yoon, and "Dr Kate" (she's a NP right now) all get 5 STARS. The rest are HORRIBLE. I've been going here for years. If I see one of those 3 everything is fine. If I see anyone else it is a struggle. The revolving door of receptionists (I've seen 8 easy) are rude, not knowledgeable, and not helpful. The "Office Manager" Scott is an idiot. I'm sorry, he just isn't good. He should find a new profession. Something that doesn't involve medicine or customer service. And a host of other NP's aren't good either. Some girl (I don't think she was even out of college yet) named Britney was little "maybe" better equipped to be a NP than Britney Spears. I think it was close. So to recap, see the 3 at the top of the pages, don't speak with a receptionist, and you'll be fine. read more

The billing issues and poor customer service have driven me to find another practice for my family. Middleton family partners with a terrible debt collector called All Debt Solutions. I tried to pay the bills and the debt collector refused to take my payment and reported to the credit reporting agencies. Middleton family understood my concern, but did nothing about it. These bills were for $17 & $25 and since they work with All Debt Solutions, I know have a black mark on my credit report. Additionally, reception and scheduling need improvement. Also the staff will not refill prescriptions in a timely manner and will not inform you of the status. You basically have to keep calling. What surprised me the most is that Middleton family has made a huge investment in technology. They just do not know how to utilize it for the benefit of the patients. I do not recommend Middleton family medicine. Hope that my review helps someone else before they make the same mistake I have. read more

I wish I could give this place NO STAR!!! I had a physical today 1/5/17 at 6:30pm with Dr.Mann. I got there at 6:25pm and checked in. I waited till 7:10pm and still no one called me. I waited on the long line again to tell the receptionist that I am canceling and looking for another doctor for my whole family. I left the office at 7:30pm and still no one came to get me. How can you make a patient wait more than a hour to be seen. This is not the first time. In the past, I caught this practice billing me for the same lab work twice. They billed my insurance company on the 13th and 14th for example for the same lab work. It's a good thing I check my bills before paying. Third, I called many times for thyroid refill and they always try to sell me a appointment with the dr. Why do I need to see the dr every month if I'm feeling fine? This place is run like a marketing/sales practice then a professional dr's office. Lastly, let's see how long it will take for them to send records to my home for the whole family. I even offered to come pick it up. Let's see if they call me and say yes come pick it up today. On top I'm being charged $25 for each patient to receive records. $75 dollars for my family of three. Brittany is my go to NP. She's smart, friendly and caring. In fact, I've seen numerous Nurse Practitioners here and all have been wonderful. To respond to other comments, I have never had any problems with the front desk or billing. The front desk has always been helpful and friendly. I had been a patient of Dr. Allara's for nearly 10 years - and referred many people to "Family Medicine Associates" (when that's who they were). As the practice grew, the quality of care become less personal, the nursing staff become less experienced (MUCH less experienced), and the office staff become incredibly rude. I left last year just as they broke away from FMA into their new identity (MFM) and called last week for my records. My new PCP's office reached out 4 times but received no reply so they asked me to try. When I called the office, an extremely rude person spoke to me in circles about how I wasn't allowed to pick up my records until I paid the $25 fee (which I said I would gladly pay) and then told me that they were only printed on the weekends (to which I said fine) and then again mentioned the $25 fee... I finally asked to just speak to someone in that department. I picked up my "records" the other day. I was handed a thick manila envelope for which I paid $25 and inside what I found was this: about 50 typed and printed pages of dates of visits, lists of meds I was on at each visit, and "Charge Captures" (basically the codes they submitted to the insurance company, i.e.: 99214: Outpatient visit) - There are NO explanations of diagnoses, NO charts, NO blood work, NO referrals, NO test results. There are also appointments that are missing and the "records" date back only five years. I called to inquire, but (to no surprise) no one has called me back (thanks Pam). Additionally, my "records" (according to MFM) end at mid August of last year, when in fact I was a patient until mid-September. Last Labor Day weekend, I had a scheduled appointment to pick up a sleep apnea take-home test. The testing representative told me that my results would be processed within 3 days of returning the suitcase containing the equipment. I took home the suitcase and returned it the following week. Two weeks later, when I called MFM for the results, nobody knew what I was talking about. Two weeks after that (end of September), I received a call from a Rhode Island Lab that they had JUST received my equipment and needed my authorization to process (since the cost would not be covered by insurance). I told them NOT to process. A week or so after that, I called MFM again, insisting to speak to Dr. Allara. The "office manager" came on the phone, told me that I could not speak with him and after inquiring about my reason for the call, told me that he was looking at my sleep apnea test results in the computer and they were negative. I asked for those results to be mailed to me. I never received anything. In looking at my "records", I also noticed that my 8/14/14 appointment includes a code of "780.51: Insomnia with sleep apnea, unspecified" which is completely fabricated since I had never been tested at that point, and, according to "records" there is nothing whatsoever related to sleep apnea testing in my file. I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out what's going on here; Middleton Family Medicine are unethical and dishonest to the point of bordering on fraud. They once even tried to force me to schedule, and pay for, an office visit just to obtain a signature from Dr. Allara on a Massachusetts Advanced Directive form. If you are a patient at MFM and having a good experience, congratulations... but you might want to start researching new physicians in your area. 7/14/2015 - A quick update... Within 2 hours of leaving my Yelp review (how coincidental), I received a call from MFM telling me they had "forgotten" to send all of my test results and lab work. (Thank you Yelp). I received the packet yesterday: a thick envelope, indeed including many copies of blood work and such, but about 1/3 of the packet is filled with records from my other doctors - which, by the way, are incredibly detailed (as they should be) with information from my visits with them. The paperwork still only dates back 5 years and does not correlate with the typed up crap I received in the first packet (for example, blood work results from a certain date, but no statement on the office visit record of having blood work ordered and why). On the bright side, at least I now have something to bring to my new PCP... read more

Terrible circus office, NOT recommended ! I've had a terrible experience at this office. The doctors and 90% of the staff are rude and extremely unprofessional. If you are looking for a doctor who can treat the common cold, get test results, and prescribe you meds to fix something easy and specific then this is your place. I've been treated very poorly and have been directly insulted by Dr. Tramontozzi who I am sorry to say but is the worst doctor there. She really lacks knowledge and pushes meds on you. She and the other doctors there want to spend 15 minutes with you, get you on a medication (AKA quick-fix) and move on to the next patient as fast as possible. Once your appointment passes you are out of their minds until you decide to make another appointment. Sure, they can put a smile on their face and be personable but in the end what's really on their minds is money. However, the MDs are not MDs in my opinion. I've seen all of them because I was trying to find the right fit for a doctor. They all lack knowledge and they base all of their conclusions off of test results. Test results aren't always the obvious answer in all cases. In my case, it wasn't. The doctors never helped me and never concluded what was wrong even after I wasted my time and money here. I had to outsource to find answers on my own. To add to this absolute mess of an office they just became Urgent Care and their new check-in process is that they make you sign in with iPads. So, everyone who comes into the office is touching the same iPads and it's like, come on..are you serious? I went in there for one thing and came out with the flu !! read more

As with many of the others on here my problem isn't with my doctor, it's with the ATROCIOUS support staff. Their incompetent billing department repeatedly codes my bills wrong causing me to be billed for things I shouldn't. They, of course, blame my provider, but it's not their fault. They don't return phone calls. You call billing and get a full voicemail box! Just pathetic. I have called and asked for a supervisor and am told one will call back. They don't. Absolutely impossible to get a hold of, near impossible to get an appointment, and RUDE staff! You'll grow old and die waiting for a call back or an appointment. Dr. Allara has been my doctor for years but I have yet to meet him. I specifically ask to have every appointment with him every time I go but instead I see a nurse practitioner. Now that I think about it, I've yet to have an appointment with/meet an actual doctor at this practice. Mind you, I go in MAYBE once a year for a sick visit and once a year for a physical... I'm not some crazy broad calling/visiting the doctor's office every week for just any old reason. read more

I have been going here for many years. I used to like it so much that I stayed with them even when I moved to Boston. I never dealt with the doctors there because I always saw the nurses, who were lovely. Suddenly, it all changed. They disaffiliated from the other family medicine locations. Now when I call I am greeted by a rude man, if I'm lucky enough to get a live person. I asked for a simple prescription refill and was unable to get one until my pharmacist called them multiple times. My pharmacist was horrified and recommended I get a new doctor. I got one. Have called twice in the past year for appointments...once for an asthma attack and once because my daughter poked me in the eye. Both times I called before closing, and both times I was told to "go to the ER." I was never offered an appointment, even for the next day. What good is a primary care doctor if their standard response to everything is "go to the ER?" Called for a flu shot last year, and they said their next available appointment for a flu shot was 2 months away. Not a very caring practice, very corporate and cold. read more

My family has been going to Middleton Family Medicine Associates since 2001 and I would never consider going anywhere else. In fact, we moved 4 years ago and now drive 65 miles for our appointments a MFM. Dr. Yoon is our primary care doctor and he is so knowledgeable. He has been following me for a chronic condition for years and I have received the most compassionate care. He takes the time to answer all your questions and set your mind at ease. Dr. Yoon is in high demand and sometimes it can be hard to get a last minute appointment with him, but no need to worry he works with an incredible team of Family Nurse Practioners. I have been seeing FNP Cindy Laporte-Unni and she is nothing short of amazing!! Cindy listens, explains everything she is doing, explains the reasons for all tests and gets back to you within a timely manner. She is kind and caring. She also has hands of an angel and administers trigger point injections almost painlessly!! Everyone in the office is friendly, professional and there to help you. From the minute you check in right up until checkout. And if you need further testing scheduled Pam is fantastic! She will keep you informed and do her best to accomodate your schedule. This place is horrible. You call and they either don't answer so you get sent to a voice mailbox that is a black hole and will never be answered or they pick up but hang up on you when you tell them what you need. I was placed on hold for 10 minutes only to have 5 different women answer and place me back on hold. They asked me what they could help me with (which was checking to make sure they received a fax) and each time before I could finish two words I was placed back on hold then hung up on! I would like to say this is rare but it happens each time. When I went for an appointment I waited at the front desk for 5 minutes with no one bothering to help me. The doctors seem nice and knowledgeable, they helped me out a lot but the reception is the worst and it is impossible to get help from them. read more

I spent most of last week in the hospital with a bad infection in my leg, that got to that point in spite of (or perhaps because of) the antibiotic that I was prescribed at Middleton Family Medicine. I called and let them know this had happened (from my hospital bed).... I am told the hospital admitting doctor did too. But no one ever called me back. And when I was finally discharged and tried to make a followup appointment with them to have my wound checked before my antibiotics run out, the only appointment they could offer me was three weeks later. I told them I had been instructed by the attending doctor at the hospital to see my PCP within a week but that made no difference. So now I am scrambling to try to find a new PCP who will see me and assess whether the inflammation I still have requires yet more antibiotics, so I can avoid ending up in the hospital yet again next week. So when in their marketing materials they tell you how they want to form a relationship with their patients... that they are compassionate... that they put patients first.... does that jibe with this experience? Also, for the "services" I received from them (the ten minute appointment with the inexperienced nurse who gave me the wrong antibiotic) I was billed $265. Editing to say that I have already (in just two days) been reminded to pay that bill! Ten days can go by with no sign of any care whatsoever (the office manager finally called me then, after I complained on their Facebook page) when one of their patients ends up in the hospital, but by God, they are going to go after that money right away! read more

I've started going here recently due to an insurance change. (they accept Mass Health, which I temporarily have to have..) I do like this place, although the reception desk was impossible to get a hold of when I first made the change, it has gotten a lot better. The ladies at the front desk are all really nice. The doctor I saw was great, I'd go back to her again. I've also called same day for appointments and I've seen all different people - who have all been fantastic. The only negative experience I had involved the lab: the first time I got blood work done the frazzled lab tech hit a nerve in my wrist and I was in pain for two weeks after. I've had blood drawn since and it hasn't happened again but now I'm very cautious to make sure the tech seems focused, because that freakin' hurt. (and when I called to complain I got the run-around saying they cant hit nerves.. OK. so that was really annoying.) but luckily it healed itself. The reception area is really nice along with the patient rooms. beautifully decorated. Lots of easy parking outside. I would recommend. read more

I have been a patient here for 10 years. This office has gone completely down hill. My original doctors and nurse practitioners are gone and I see whomever at this point. The office is a disorganized mess. They have failed to get my prescription correct the past 20 times I've had it filled (since the most recent change in management or systems). Typos , not signing the script, not dating the script, and sending the script to the wrong pharmacy has caused major inconveniences for me. Some of these incidences are not only an inconvenience to the patient but can also cause serious legal issues for the practice. I have gone without medicine on numerous occasions for numerous weekends. This office is more concerned with creating revenue than patient care. The staff is over-booked and overwhelmed and it shows. My husband has been a patient of Dr. Allara's since he was a kid. I have been seeing Dr. Tramontozzi for over 2 years and my son has been a patient of Dr. Yoon's for over 2 years. I find the doctors and the staff to be very helpful, friendly, courteous and responsive. Dr. Yoon in particular has been an amazing resource and is super patient with a first time mom's questions! I have never had difficulty making an appointment. I have seen Nurses, NPs, other Doctors and PAs, but I have never had a problem getting an appointment with my doctor or my son's doctor - they always do our annuals and most of our sick calls. I love their expanded hours. I have been able to get evening appointments and have been seen on the weekends for sick calls. I also appreciate the in house lab - it makes it super easy to get blood work done. I have found the front desk and triage nurses to be very responsive whether I need a question answered or paperwork faxed. read more

Pretty much they gave me a vaccine that required multiple doses between months. They forgot to put the 3rd dose on my record.
