A new OEM Husqvarna carburetor for a 125BVX model leaf blower retails for ~$30.00 but MG Lawn Mower Shop & Garden Supply charged me $90.00 for the same part and $122.50 in total to replace the faulty carburetor, which took only about 30 minutes to do so. Called them yesterday about getting my mower blade sharpened and balanced, the lady who answered quoted me $12, which sounded about right. Tried to take the blade in today, the door was locked and there was no one around. Finally I saw a man inside come into the office; he saw me but ignored me and turned away. Perhaps they have so much business that they are actively discouraging any new customers; if so they are definitely succeeding. I will never be back. read more

I do not recommend, they are straight scamming people.. I took in my lawnmower to be fixed. Every week I had to call and check the status. 3 weeks later the part was barely ordered and my lawnmower wasn't fixed, nor was I ever given the option for used parts or to order new parts. They ordered a new part. They called me and said the lawnmower was ready. When I told them I wasn't given the option to order parts. My mower wasn't even ready! Plus they tried to charge me for services that weren't even done. They tried to charge me for the part that I didn't authorize to fix for shipping. They gave me the invoice # and company they order from. I called the manufacturer of that part they tried to charge me for and they do not charge for returns. read more

Wasn't a good experience. Called demanding me to pick up rider mower then a call back saying " never mind not ready". Ask me about my receipt for 60 + $. if I wasn't organized and didn't find it they were going to charge me extra, because they Lost my receipt. Kept buying parts without authorization. Later charging us for labor that wasn't confirmed. Mower wasn't worth fixing absolutely would had said no! But they bait and switch us. This operation needs to be sued but I don't have time. Don't use they strung us along for two months. Glad my husband picked up mover because I wouldn't be able to explain exorbitant bill, unless you get hooked. Absolutely, the worst experience essentially a rip off . You will pick up and be unexpectedly surprised. They will say you needed it to be fixed? You will say yes do the best you can and then you pick up your mower to the tune of your mower over $700 of expenses. Shocking! Disappointing! They don't speak very good English so every phone call you do you feel like there's something lost in the conversation. Don't fall victim to them. read more

This is a really great place, as a female trying to take a lawnmower to this shop. That was an interesting feat to see how I pushed a Honda lawnmower into a Lexus SUV on a slanted whiteboard and yes it went in! However, didn't have any clue how I would carry it out when I got to my destination,...by the way ladies lawnmowers are heavy! Anyways, arriving at this place, although went to their old location first, chivalry is not dead, the guy immediately by himself took the lawnmower out. He explained what he thought it would take to fix paid the $15 which will apply to the repairs. It was a nice place who explained it to a novice why it would need or not need a part. It will be ready in less then a week. Very happy with the service and him being a true gentleman! read more

I just recently went to this Lawnmower repair shop. The owners said that they have only been open for a couple of months. This is a very "Mom&Pop" kinda of place, so I don't mind helping them out. But now to specifics: I have a lawnmower that a friend gave me about four years ago. I have no idea how old it is, but I doubt he ever maintained it. In the four years I've owned it, I hate to admit it, but I've never maintained it either. Well about a year ago, the fuel line disintegrated, and I meant to fix it, but didn't until about a week ago (when the weeds finally got really bad!). Anyway, I replaced the fuel line, but then couldn't start it. I pulled it apart, but I just didn't have time to deal with it, so I looked around town for a repair place. When I talked to the lady on the phone, she seemed nice, so I gave them a try. I brought my lawnmower in, and it was a mess. When I received it back, it ran great! They did a tune-up on it, and gave it a new blade. The mechanic reset the governor so that I'd get max power when mowing. AND, they even cleaned my lawnmower! Now it looks almost new, and runs great! I was pleasantly surprised! read more

My lawn mower hadn't been serviced in years and was taking 30-40 pulls to start. MG had been recommended to me and they overhauled the carburator, sharpened the blade, changed the air filter and oil, and put a new priming button in for just $95. They said it would take a week or so, but had it done within two days. I love it when a merchant under-promises and over-delivers! It works perfectly and starts with one easy pull. I highly recommend them and they have become my lawn equipment go-to. read more

Cute little mom and pop place. Very clean and nice people. Prices for repairs are reasonable. They take cash and credit card.

Took my rototiller there last year . After I waited for part to come in they decided to change the oil and replace the plug when I had already just done that before brining it to them . When I picked up the rototiller not only did they want to charge me for the plug and oil change which I didn't authorized but they wanted to charge me for another part that I didn't need which I made them remove. Before it was put into my truck they had problems starting it up once they got it started they had no where to test it so I just took it home not thinking that the throttle and carburetor we're not in sync.. Once I got it home I didn't use it rite away In a month I then decided to use it the throttle would increase enough to keep it running. They obviously didn't adjust it when they put it on. This caused the rototiller continuously die once the times were engaged.. So I took it back. They claimed that I must of done something to it? If that was the case then why would I bother to have them work on it in the first place if I knew how to fix it myself. I had also left my lawn mower there because the Carburetor needed to be overhauled . They broke the carburetor and then told me I needed a new one so it sat there for about three weeks they forgot about it . I came in to there shop because I couldn't get an honest answer from them over the phone as to what was happening with my mower. . I and asked him what was going on then they told me that they couldn't find a carburetor for it. I then told him I would see if I can get one from a friend of mine who owned a lawnmower shop down in San Diego. I decided to pick up the mower while waiting for the new carburetor . I did not want them to work on it and no longer trusted them.When I showed up to pick up my mower they went out to find it . Once they found the mower and brought it to me I asked them where was the handle? The whole handle was missing They then claimed it didn't come in with one? WTF . I asked them where was it? They then went out back and must of removed a random one from another mower and put it on. It was evening so I didn't realize what they had done. I decided to take the mower to another shop to have the carburetor put on and then realized the handle was not the correct one and the mower was was missing various parts. They must of been scrapping my mower to use on other peoples mowers. One of the wheels is broken and ready to fall off it has obviously altered , cables are missing as well as the pull string was wrapped around the lower part of the mower so it no longer works . The new blade that I had put in was missing also. Basically The mower is destroyed. These people are liars and thieves ,take also take advantage of white women. When I was waiting they would help every Hispanic male figure first before me. Talk about discrimination! My mower had only had about 30 days total use on it when I had brought it to them. The mower was perfect except the carburetor. . This other handle cannot be used because it isn't the correct one. The wheel is jacked up with the plastic broken. The pull string no longer goes back into the holder due to it being tied around the lower handle because they had removed the part that holds it. The amount of money it would cost to buy a new handle if I could find one ,the cable and the cord puller and a new blade It would be more than the mowers worth. I would be better off buying a new mower. If you value you mower and want to keep your original good parts don't go there. If your a woman don't trust them to fix things correctly without out bait and switch . read more

If I could give this place -5 stars, I would. This place is terrible, DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE! This place will rip you off, they will do unauthorized services and then you will have an extravagant bill in the end full of charges you did not authorize. We brought a minibike with a Tecumseh engine for diagnostic. We were told when dropping off a diagnostic is $29.00. After over a week, we finally received a call and were told it was a carburetor float. We let the office lady know to QUOTE us a price on a carburetor float and the labor, she said ok. The next day we received a call saying it now needs a whole new carburetor, we let them know to please put the bike back and we would just pick it up at this point, the office lady said "absolutely not, we will not put the bike back together, that will be an extra charge" (An extra charge to put back what you took apart for diagnostic?!?!?), she also let us know that the diagnostic price was now $39.00. We said fine, do not put it back, we will be there to pick up the bike. When we arrived to pick up the bike, it was in pieces, they took off things they did not need to take off to get to the carburetor, and now the price for the diagnostic was $65.00!! The mechanic here does not know what he is doing at all! This was a terrible experience, I do not recommend them, and will make sure to tell EVERYONE I know about how they should NEVER do business with MG Lawn Mower Shop & Garden Supply, and believe me I know A LOT of people. read more
