George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. This company is GREAT! After another company replaced my furnace and messed it up by miss matching…read morethe plenum size and furnace I got McHenry to do it. The other furnace was crap and only lasted a year before the blower failed (because of the pressure miss match caused by the plenum mismatch). They replaced the furnace with a good one, AND got it up off the floor like it SHOULD have been. In addition to correcting the plenum, they put a NEW and correct filter housing on it. That doesn't seem like a big thing except the prior company had some dummy install a filter housing with the screws facing IN to the slot where the filter sits making it a real pain to replace. So ya, I definitely recommend them.

(Coincidentally, the "Father" lives in my longtime hometown, and the "Son" is 20 minutes from the house we just bought -- but I have no skin in this game, receive no commission, and offer this review without any incentives.) I was given a Master Class in how forced-air furnaces work (we previously spent 25 years baby-sitting a boiler-fed radiator system); was not up-sold on any unnecessary service or repairs; learned how the presence of four furry dogs might require more frequent filter replacements (again -- no sales pitch; just a suggestion that we buy a case on Amazon); and a free look at our older AC unit. But they always try to send a cheap laborer first who can't fix the issue and sometimes even leaves having made the issue worse. Then we have to call again and again and they keep sending someone incompetent out. I'm sure my landlord uses them because they're cheap. Routine stuff like installations have been no problem, they just followed a manual but after installing that unit they left it making an extremely loud whistling noise all over the house.
