Four enchilada special only cheese and queso
    Sandra W.

Driving thru we decided to have Mexican food, being new in the area we stopped in. We were seated quickly and given some very good warm thin chips and tasty salsa which we really enjoyed. We then ordered their special enchilada dinner for the night which was four enchiladas, one cheese, one chicken, one ground beef with possible shredded, and bean one covered in their red sauce, shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes on top with sour cream, hubby got this and was pleased with the chicken and very pleased with the beef and not so much the cheese and the bean one. I asked to make it an only cheese enchilada plate with no red sauce and only queso all over the top then of course it had the lettuce and tomatoes and sour cream on top. Lettuce we both agreed was very fresh and crisp, not at all from a bag. Very fresh diced tomatoes, I did not care for the sour cream. Both plates were beautifully plated. My cheese enchiladas with queso was delish, our problem was that with all the lettuce and fresh tomatoes on top it made the whole plate of food cold right away. Also we received our water in a large glass with lots of ice which was very good but never came to give me a refill when I emptied it. Another table got fajitas that also looked very good and came out sizzling hot. I would recommend giving this place a try.

This place is just....the best. I have family that lives in Franklin, and this place has quickly become our "go-to". We especially like to come here on Sunday afternoons after church to partake in their lunch menu, but we've been on Friday and Saturday nights as well. I think we have a permanent residence at this point. My fiance and his family are from Mexico, and they have given it their stamp of approval as well! We took my family there with his family, and we made them try some more "traditional" dishes than just the usual stuff they would get at a Mexican restaurant. The one rule I give myself is that I have to try something new every time. But with so many options on their regular and lunch menu, it's pretty easy to do that! I've had Arroz con carne, arroz con camarones, el acapulco, camarones a la diabla, and various burritos. All of them are so good! I am a big lover of rice, and theirs is amazing. My #1 favorite food is chips and salsa, and theirs are no exception! I've tried at least 5 different salsas from them before. The servers are incredible. I love that they're friendly, patient, and super efficient!! I also love the decor in the restaurant. It's so vibrant and makes the experience colorful and fun. I will be back hundreds of times. My kids will know this place as our "go-to" Mexican restaurant. I will never stop talking about it!!

Delicious salsa , so fresh and flavorful

Overall had a great experience here, had been hearing great things so wanted to come try it out on a weekend date. Was pretty busy so that was a good sign but still got sat within a few mins. The decor is pretty typical bight colors and neat hand carved Latin looking booths. Chips and salsa were amazing while we waited for our entrees. The salsa was very fresh and tasted great. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and it all tasted great! I got a 4 combo plate and so did my date. I got a tostada, 2 cheese enchiladas and a bean burrito. They were all just the right temp and tasted authentic. Everything was Delicious, only one thing came out wrong but they fixed it quickly. Would definitely return, great food, atmosphere and the dinner was fun and tasty! Check them out while in Franklin!

After a week of packing & moving we were so sick of fast food..... I'll be happy if I never eat another fast food burger or fry again. 3 days of packing up my car and a moving truck and MANY trips up and down the stairs we finally settled in. While I'm ready for a home cooked meal my entire life is still packed up in boxes but we were in need of some tasty food. And I was craving some chips & salsa. So off to Mi Abuelito we went. I ordered the lunch fajitas and added chorizo and my kiddo got the lunch trio burrito. I also got a glass of the horchata. Let me tell you this was exactly what I needed after a long moving week. I did see that they had a spicy jalapeño Marg that I am most definitely going back for!!! The service was great and the food was delish.

Mocajete Abuelito. Enough for two people and every meat you need for a week. Great Entrée

Wowzers!!! On return trip from Edinburg we came across this little gem in Franklin. Started with Jalepeno Marg... this spicy drink was well executed with Tijin salted rim, bits of Peppers and Cucumbers floating in the Lime and sweet Tequila. So good, I can see why patrons out front were just enjoying quiet ambiance. Chips were served with individual bowls of mild tomato salsa, finely mixed. For Entree I went ALL IN! Molcajete... the holy grail of southern border proteins. Chicken, Steak flanking pot with roasted cactus and filled with Oaxaca cheese, Chorizo, Pulled Pork Shrimp and Mole' followed with roasted Poblano peppers. Your should get a shirt for finishing this! Which was full of flavor and with an extra side of Tortillas I nearly did. Don't be a coward... order this to share. My bride got a Chimichanga which was equally delicious along with the balance of the table we were fans of "little grandfather". Worth a stop, if ever passing through Franklin.

    Margarita special! Two for $15!!!

The whole place looks delightfully tacky. One server snapped at me when I asked for help. The food is amazing.

Yesterday at lunch time we visited the Blue Cactus. We had heard wonderful things and wanted to…read morefind out for ourselves. The town square was popping on a Saturday morning so parking was tough, but did not deter us! The restaurant at first glance is small but it is much bigger on the inside with a pretty outside section. My girlfriend got a Spicy Cilantro Margarita to drink. Which was not her favorite drink she has had. Mentioned it was strong alcohol taste so if that's for you then it's great but for her it wasn't her vibe. As for food we got Queso of course which paired with the complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was very flavorful with a solid spice level. For our main we went with the Taco Tray. 10 tacos, 2 of whichever 5 you choose and 3 sides. We chose Carne Azada, Birria, Corner (Chorizo & Potato), BBQ Pork and Ensenada (Fried Chicken) tacos along with the side choices of Re-fried beans, Mexican Rice and Spicy Veggies with Quinoa. The tacos also come with cilantro, onion and tomatillo salsa. All 3 sides were nice to pair with all tacos. It was nice to mix and match all the various toppings on the tacos to find the best flavor. Taco Rankings for us were as follows. 1 Birria (Great Flavor overall) 2 Ensenada (Surprise of the meal but a great one) 3 Barbacoa (So much flavor) (Update) 4 Azada (Hard to mess up, great baseline) 5 Al Pastor (Tasty, little lacking on pineapple flavor) (Update) 6 La Paz (Fried Fish) ( My girlfriend loved these, I rank them lower due to texture issues, try them for yourself!!!) (Update) 7 Corner (Dry and Bland alone but with sides and toppings was tasty) 8 BBQ Pork (Pineapple in the meat did not work with anything other than the meat itself.) Overall the service was good despite being very busy it seemed. We will be back to try more tacos and other items. The only items we do not plan to get again are the margarita and the BBQ pork tacos. We will most likely pass on the Corner tacos as well in favor of trying another taco. (Update: Service was faster and better the second time, speed was definitely a product of being busy) Suggestion is Birria and Ensenada tacos are must gets!! (Update: I would add Barbacoa to this suggestion) Update!! We went again the next weekend and got another Tray and the Jalepeños Norteños. We tried the Fried Fish, Barbacoa and Al Pastor tacos. See the above list where the rankings are placed. We also tried the White rice this time around and it didn't disappoint. The Norteños were a miss. Sadly the bacon was not crispy at all and the overwhelming flavor of cigarette was all I could taste. I DO NOT think the cooks are smoking in the back. It is just what I tasted on this item. We will not get them again.
