I am thrilled with the service we received at el Pueblo. We are a local volleyball club and wanted to have a wacky dinner out. We called the restaurant a week before to see if they could accommodate a group of more than 50 and they agreed. The service was great! The teamwork was spectacular and our players and their families were treated with respect. I know there were all kinds of meals eaten and everyone was satisfied. I personally had the chicken tacos and they were delicious. The chicken wasn't too dry and the tortillas were cooked just right. The atmosphere was conducive to this kind of dinner. This is one of the hidden gem Mexican restaurant in Franklin, it was my first visit here and I found this as an suggestion on my cars map screen so I tried looking for reviews on Yelp but on Yelp its listed as "MI Peaublo" instead of " El Pueblo". This restaurant is in shopping area and adjecent to dollar general so there are ample of parking spots available. Once you enter the restaurant the you realize the place is big inside and have very colorful Mexican vide to it they also have out door seating with 8 -9 dinning tables out doors and I must say the outdoor seating is very well maintained too. Staff is very friendly and food is awesome. Portion size are big so order accordingly as we were not able to finish what all we ordered. I will recommend there Margaret's they are delicious. I went to the bathroom and they delivered my chips to my table and by the time I got back the waiter "explained" to me that's why they were stale. I asked another waiter to bring me a new batch as my waiter declined to bring me a new basket. Second batch was stale too. So Ai just ordered from ala crate chimichanga and crunchy taco. The shell of the taco tasted stale as well. The chimichanga was a generous size though. My wife and I were in the area and decided to revisit Mi Peublo. I was disappointed as the experience wasn't as good as we have had in the past. I had the three beef taco combination plate for $8.99 and a 22oz Coors draft beer for $4.99. The beer was good and was worth it. The combo plate arrived luke warm. The beef tacos were made with ground beef - no shredded beef as I would expect at this price. This meal was very mediocre. The complimentary salsa was very watery with no chunks in it. The chips were small and not very tasty. To be fair, the service was fast and efficient. Overall I will think long and hard before I give it another try as there are many other Mexican restaurants in the area that have consistently high quality food at reasonable prices - and they serve their food piping hot. read more

This is one of Indiana's finest! I brought several of my coworkers here, and they all ordered lunch specials. II ordered one of the vegetarian plates. As soon as we were seated three baskets of chips and bowls of excellent salsa arrived at our table. The service was really good, friendly and extra fast. The food was really good and CHEAP! The family and i pulled up here after a full day of driving from Iowa. We had to call a few times because the address is misleading but once we finally got there they were easily able to seat all 12 of us without waiting. We were seated at two big tables and 3 servers instantly brought out 6 baskets of delicious chips and salsa. We ran out in about 5 minutes and were quickly given more. The waiters also got our drinks out in about 5 minutes and took our orders. I really appreciated the fast service. I ordered a cheese enchilada and bean tostada plate. It came with a big serving of beans and a very nice tostada. The Enchilada had a bitter tasting cheese in the middle. It was edible but not the kind of cheese id want to find in a Mexican dish. I did get the chance to try some ones Chile Rellenos, it was my first time trying it and I'm usually not a fan of spicy things. this however had the perfect amount of spice and flavor! Yum I also tried a Pina Colada made with about 75% alcohol and 25% Pina Colada.It was delicious as well =) Over all the food was about 4 bucks a dish...for a party of 12 that's an incredible bill. I can't stop and they certainly don't stop brining tortilla so you are F'ed. You are in cycle of cheese abyss. I like their margarita. They know what ethy are doing to keep their customers. Owner tried to say it was a "to go fee" of $2 (never had that on any of the other orders, and this time the receipt only showed a $1 "to go" fee). Something isn't right for it to go up $4 after the first order, then $2 this order, doubling the price from the first time a few weeks ago. Hostess greeted us and said she woulda be right back. A minute later a gentleman sat us did not say a word to us just threw our silverware down and took off. This restaurant was once the hit of Franklin. They've done a complete 360 in the last couple of years. The salsa now tastes like straight tomato paste from a jar, the chips are always stale or over cooked, and the last meal I had (chicken taco salad) made me barf in the bathroom mid-meal. Don't recommend eating here. If you're looking for decent Mexican in the area, head to La Cocina just north on 31 or Pico de Gallo in Bargersville. read more

I had to go to Franklin to pay my first ever speeding ticket. I have never been to the actual city of Franklin before (I got the ticket on the highway) and when I have never been somewhere I like to try a local restaurant in the area. And when I know nothing about any of the local restaurants, I find the closest and hopefully the best Mexican food available. I asked the ladies in the ticket office where such a place would be and they did not steer me wrong when they sent me here. I can't remember what combo I ordered but I remember I really liked it. Same goes for my old man. We also got big ass margaritas and cheese dip (what else is new). The place was clean and funky, the servers were attentive and prompt, and everything was as tasty as it was plentiful. If I ever have to return to Franklin for a legal infraction, I will return to drown my sorrows in mas tequila and white queso. read more

Fantastic place. Their refried beans have a spicy twist. I usually just taste and pass on the rice and beans at Mexican places, but here, they are great! In addition, with such great pricing, they should have lines out the door. I just moved here from Vegas and Mi Pueblo tops the places I frequented there. Why not 5 stars? I guess I am going to be the only slightly negative review. lol While positive Yelpers led me here I was totally underwhelmed. My fish tacos were simply flour tortillas filled with cubed and grilled tilapia. No double layer corn tortillas. No cabbage. No sauce. No onion, No cilantro. No FLAVOR.
