I was seated quickly, but not waited on so quickly the waiter was in such a hurry If I paused for a second he was like I'll come back then it took himforever to come back. The food was good. I've visited Don Cuervo several times and always enjoyed the food. But there's something that's hard to ignore the more often it happens. As Hispanic customers, we're consistently expected to go to the counter to pay -- while American customers are brought the card machine directly to their table. Even when we're still seated and clearly not in a rush, no one ever offers us that option. Maybe it's not intentional, but after so many visits, it feels like a pattern -- and it makes us feel less valued. Restaurants should treat every customer with the same respect and care. Great Mexican restaurant in Greenwood! One Friday evening I decided to give Don Cuervo a shot. The decor style includes dark mahogany wood seating, black and white images throughout, and a wall mural by the bar of what appears to be of the Angel of Independence monument in Mexico city. My meal of choice was arroz con pollo. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The portion of rice seemed somewhat modest, but had a good, cheesy and zesty flavor. This restaurant is located in a little strip mall in Greenwood. They have an adequate size parking lot available, that it shares with the other businesses in the strip mall. The restaurant has two sides, one of which was open while I was there. that was the main dining area which had a few tables and booths. They also had televisions playing sports and Hispanic music playing in the background. The staff is friendly enough and the service was quick. They have a menu with your typical Mexican food including burritos, tacos, carne asada, enchiladas, fajitas, and quesadillas. They also have the favorite drinks that go along with the food like margarita, mojitos, daiquiris, and sangria. I ordered a steak quesadilla and got the chicken tenders for my little. The food was ready in about 5 minutes. My little's chicken tenders, were more like chicken nuggets and came with natural cut fries. My quesadillas came with rice and guacamole salad. It was ok. It was a little too salty for me. It was also luke warm, which I did not understand because it was prepared so quick. The Sangria is homemade and was very delicious. I almost made up for the food. It was chilled and had fresh fruit mixed in. I highly recommend you getting a glass, if you drink. This is an ok place to get Mexican food in Greenwood. It is very clean and has a wide range of Mexican food and drink to choose from. I will admit that my food was not the best. If I do go back, I would definitely try something else. Tijuana Brisket tacos. Enough said. I freeeeequent Don Cuervo just for those tacos, man! Every. Single. Time I go that broke at is ALWAYS tender, juicy and they aren't stingy with putting the meat in the taco. I love putting salsa on my tacos for added flavor but these need NOT A THING. This place is now our go to when we crave Mexican food! The place was very nice and packed with people, I assume regulars because we will be now! Started with a perfectly mixed pitcher of Texas margaritas, the special on a Friday night! Kids got chicken fingers and hand cut fries and arroz con pollo. Both enjoyed their selections, my son never had arroz con pollo and loved it! Hands down the best fajita salad bowl I've ever had! Grilled steak and chicken with cheese, lettuce, onions, peppers, grilled corn, black beans, and avocado. Such a great combination and perfectly mixed. Looking for a new local Mexican eatery so we stopped into Don Cuervo for some take out. It's located in a little strip mall on Smith Valley - next to a great local coffee place, Strange Brew - so it's in a convenient location. The restaurant is clean and the staff was friendly and attentive - they took our order, seafood quesadilla, carnitas and a large guacamole. Said it would be done in 15 minutes and it was. The food was all tasty! The salsa actually had some spice to it, which was nice! The chips were hot and fresh! It was definitely pretty good. It was a bit more expensive for less food than our usual place - but we are in this crazy inflation age... I'd go back and maybe eat there... read more

I then sat there for 10 minutes and asked to put an order in and again sat there for another 10 minutes and nobody came around to take my order. Very nice establishment! Clean, smelled clean, lots of seating for groups of any size. Chips and salsa were great. Fresh homemade sangria was amazing! Chicken fajitas were enough for 2 people so that meant left overs for lunch the next day! My husband got a beef chimichanga and said it was delicious as well! I've ordered everything from the Ribeye asada,street tacos which were carne, pastor and chicken all of which literally came out in 3 minutes, unfortunately they were so dry I couldn't eat them. Been here twice. Food is decent. Menu is underwhelming. What really sucks here is the service. Last time I went there, I waited almost 45 minutes for food after we ordered, had to wait for them to fix one of our orders, ate food that I didn't ask for just for the sake of time, and then was told I had to wait "like everyone else" when I just wanted the check after waiting 20 minutes since I originally asked for it. The dinning room was cleared out, and the bar had people, so I didn't understand his issue or need to be rude. Also, most expensive Mexican I've had in a while. I mean, I normally don't complain about price, but I've spent way less and gotten way better food. The single pro is that the drinks are good, and it's very well kept. That's about it. I'd say the food isn't amazing enough to sit through that kind of service. The menu, again, is so underwhelming that I felt like I've pretty much got the full experience after two visits. I was SO impressed with this place and I'm excited to go back! It has a different vibe than your typical Mexican restaurant. No flashy colors or decor that you're used to. It has a more modern look that I loved. I went on a Sunday during brunch time and it wasn't busy at all. We had great service. She was very attentive and friendly. The chips and salsa were not the best I've ever had, but still really good. I had the huevos rancheros and it was so delicious. They have three different kinds of "breakfast-y" plates like that, in addition to your typical Mexican restaurant menu. Despite it being early.. I couldn't resist a margarita and was so happy I got it. It was seriously one of the best margaritas I've had and didn't have that over the top taste that some have. I have been dining at this Restaurant for a few years now. I am here to tell you now, they never disappoint me. The very first time I had eaten here, I ordered the Don Cuervo Steak Quesadilla. I customized it with Steak, Cheese, and Grilled Onions only. I have never ordered anything else, staying loyal to this one menu item. This Quesadilla, is what I rant and rave about, every time somebody asks me if I like Mexican Food, or what my favorite place is to order from. It's always so full of the most juicy and flavorful Steak. The melted Cheese, is always so delicious; adding a fulfilling texture that completes and combines to perfection. The Grilled Onions, add a sweetness that blends well with the other ingredients, along with a gentle crunch. The Tortilla Shell, is always soft on the inside, but has a delicate crisp on the outside, with an outer toasted Cheddar garnish. The Tortilla Chips and Queso, are always a delightful appetizer. Their Soda beverages are always fresh and rotated on time, as well. The Employee's are always wearing smiles, punctual, handle rush-hours well, and take care of your every need. The Chefs are also very passionate about the their food. I cannot speak for the other Menu items or experiences, because I've never tried them. That is definitely a goal of mine, the next time I visit. However, for this item specifically? I attest, that it is worth the $13.00. There's something that feels different about this Mexican restaurant compared to others in town that I can't quite put my finger on. What I do know is that there's a bit of kick in the food here that the others don't have, starting with both the salsa and queso. So be prepared for that, you might want to keep your water handy. I'm sure I'll expand my menu selections on future visits, but at this point the 3-pack tacos are my favorite. They're street tacos, so not your Taco Bell soft shells. You can get all three of the same flavor or mix and match for an extra charge, which I recommend to get a good sampling. I haven't had one I didn't like, but the pork does seem to be a pretty clear front runner. Bonus is the bathroom was really clean, at least on my visit. Always a good thing when I've got the currently-in-potty-training little one along for the ride. Looking forward to some additional visits here in the very near future. read more

For me, my appreciation for this place is that everything seems to be that "next step" better than all the other places. The freshness, quality.... it isn't "gourmet" or extremely fancy, but it doesn't need to be - it's simply very well done! I've had fajitas, tacos (my wife loves their chicken tacos - not a bunch of ridiculous spice - just well marinated - her only "complaint" is that there's too MUCH chicken on them - as if that was a bad thing), burritos, enchiladas (love their rich, bold enchilada sauce), carnitas (VERY good)..... I love that it's not "just another Mexican restaurant." It's the usual dishes, just done better! With a bit more attention to detail, and that makes all the difference. read more

My husband and I really like to get Mexican takeout, and this is the closest place to our house so we get it a lot. It is filling and the portions are large, but there's some downsides. I don't like it when they put frozen veggies in the Mexican rice, although most people probably wouldn't care about that. I feel like everything I've ordered could use another scoop of sauce, so we always get extra queso and salsa to dump on our food.
