My husband and I stopped by on a Saturday night around 5 and were immediately sat with no reservation. The area this is located is really cute with fun shops to walk around and see. After sitting, we were brought chips and salsa. They also let us know there is a salsa bar where we can try different salsas. My husband and I both tried a few and really liked them. I like that they have options for salsa since my husband and I have different preferences for spice level. For drinks, they have a really fun margarita menu providing a variety of margaritas as well as other drinks. They do also have a bar area with sports games on TV if that's the vibe you're looking for. I ended up just getting a Diet Pepsi. They have fountain and it was actually a really good brew even tho it was Diet Pepsi!! For food, we split the fish tacos and ceviche Acapulco. The fish tacos were amazing. I really liked the cilantro cream from the salsa bar on top of these. I would go back for these for sure!! They use mahi mahi, and it is fried. Cooked to perfection!! We didn't like the ceviche as much. The sauce had Clamato in it, which I felt like took away from the lime flavoring. It wasn't my favorite since I do prefer a strong lime flavor and chopped tomatoes, but if you like Clamato then I could see this being good. Overall, things were great! Service was prompt. Came here for a work dinner with a large group. It was early enough in the evening that it wasn't too busy. We did have a large party which I know can be a lot of work however the overall service was extremely slow-- from ordering our drinks to our food order. Liking this place a lot more than I used to but possibly for the wrong reasons. The Mexican food is still pretty mid in my opinion. However, it's easy to jazz up the flavors with 1 or 6 of the outstanding salsas available at their salsa bar. I rarely order the Mexican food here, with the exception of the shrimp ceviche, because the Baja burger is divine. Seriously, this burger is easily in my top 3 in the whole city. The weird, but awesome fries that come with it are so different and truly outstanding. The cocktails here are also legit and don't leave me wanting. Service is excellent and the vibes are amazing. The salsa bar is what sells it! So many fun options to pick from. Of the ones we tried I most enjoyed the ranchera and berry ones. I also enjoyed my sangria margarita. The cauliflower taco was good but still can't hold a candle to the cauliflower taco at a certain Holladay taqueria. The citrus dressing on the salad took the simple salad to another level. The waitress had informed me that both the black and pinto beans as well as Spanish rice offered as sides were not vegetarian. This jalapeño margarita was delicious, the cauliflower tacos and spicy camarones (shrimp) felt elevated for the price and were so good, the salsa bar was fun. Was pleasantly surprised with this place. We are from California so we are hard graders of Mexican food. This place was top notch. They have a full salsa bar with everything from mild to hot. The staff was friendly and took great care of us from apps, drinks and our dinners. We all choose something different and everything was delicious. My fiancé & I loved the Nachos the first time we went there and were really excited to come back with our family. Unfortunately last night the service was very disappointing. I understand that it was very busy and chaotic however ignoring or neglecting certain tables is frustrating. Our waitress was hard to flag down. I was craving nachos after attending my son's LAX game at Highland, and this place pulled up. Ohhhhhhmigodddddd, I'm so glad it did!!!! They were so amazing! We tried the carnitas, shredded beef (our personal favorite), and chicken. Went w traditional tomato sauce over enchiladas. The service was great. I visited this location with 8 of my family members, but despite the numbers they were very quick serving us. Our waiter was extremely polite, leaving even my 78 year old grandmother impressed. They were very thoughtful in our interactions, but the service is only half of it. I found the dishes bursting with flavor in every way, and the Camarones á la diabla had my taste buds singing. My meal took me on a journey through the lands of sweet and savory, and there was nothing better than finishing off with the classic Mexican dessert flan. Flan has been one of my favorite sweets since my Nana prepared it for me as a little kid, and this restaurant definitely did it justice. The atmosphere of this location was very warm and inviting, and I would encourage everyone reading this to see for yourself. We were not expecting to head to this restaurant last night and were in the area for another restaurant and when that restaurant told us we needed to wait an hour and 20 minutes we said no thank you and left. Much to our surprise we encountered a magical Mexican restaurant. The interior of this restaurant is so unexpected and unique. Urban with a touch of the past mixed with beautiful plants. The service was also outstanding we did not have to wait to be seated for longer than two minutes. Once we were sat we had delicious tortilla chips to snack on in 30 seconds of sitting down. The gentleman that was running the food and filling the waters was super nice and we were able to get an appetizer in before the rest of our party arrived. He even did extra work and found out how many appetizers would work for our table. What an awesome guy! I wish I caught his name but he was so great! Samantha our server checked in with us right away and got us situated with drinks while we waited for the rest of our party. Which was so nice just to relax and take in the menu. For the appetizer we did the jalapeño poppers and they were a great unique take on jalapeño poppers! They weren't deep fried and the chorizo mixture was flavorful and had a fantastic mild spice. The tomato sauce with them took it up to the perfect level of deliciousness. We ordered a variety of different items. I got the Torta and it was probably the best torta I've had in a long time. The meat was perfectly cooked except for one tough piece, but other than that it was melt in your mouth, all the flavors were very well balanced and seasoned just right. The cheese was perfectly melted and honestly it hit all the right notes. I usually don't get a torta at a new place but this one is not to be slept on. Their chipotle mayo was fantastic and the torta was just the right size and the bread was perfectly toasted. I was happy I got this but really want to dive into more items next time. My husband got the Mixto and everything again was delicious and well balanced. The shredded beef was juicy, the shredded chicken was delicious and the grilled chicken was as well. Their tortillas are also made in house it seems because they were just that fresh and delicious. Everyone else got enchiladas and their mole is quite delicious as well. Everyone was happy, and left very stuffed and we even had leftovers. The salsa bar was also amazing. The only thing I want to note is the labels for the salsa bar are hard to read because they are faded but overall, all the salsas we tried were absolutely delicious. My family has decided that this might be our new Mexican place in Salt Lake because it is just that good. This place is enchanting and you would expect no less from a restaurant on 15th & 15th. read more

What an underrated hidden gem!! We made a quick reservation the day before for a large group and they luckily had room for us. Nestled in a cozy neighborhood, there is street and back parking for the restaurant. I'd highly recommend starting with chips, salsa and queso all of which were delicious! I ended up getting the steak tacos, and they were so flavorful. You can get the tacos Mexican style or American style depending on the toppings you want. We were delighted to see a fresh new face on this corner of the 15th and 15th neighborhood. Reservations were full on a Sunday evening at opening, but we were happy to sit in the bar area. We ordered the cadillac margaritas, guac, fish tacos and octopus tacos. The food was fine. We hoped for a bit more intensity and complexity in flavor, but our meal was entirely acceptable. Although I'm still questioning melted cheese on octopus. The portions were massive and we wondered if over time the restaurant would need to scale back to be profitable. Staff were friendly and hard working, but they could use some additional support. The restaurant feels new, like they are still getting their feet under them, but it was a solid experience. There are many menu items I didn't get this time - like pozole, birria soup, arepas and mole. However, as of late, myself and others have been met with rudeness (primarily one of the female servers) and our table (among others we noticed) were ignored. We felt rushed to leave even though the place wasn't busy at all, especially after only 45 min of us being there. Our check was passive aggressively dropped on the table as we were told "no rush" and then ignored for a good bit before we were met with eye-rolls and huffs. Recently had lunch here. Food was excellent. Service was very good. Enjoyable meal until the bill arrived with an unexpected surcharge for using a credit card. We are rapidly moving towards a cashless society, and the expectation ought to be that most diners will pay by card. The prices are not inexpensive ($34 for a lunch entree and a drink, before tax and tip). Rather than annoying patrons with another fee, perhaps charge a price that covers your expenses, and offer a cash discount if you really want to be a cash business. Decided to check out this new place on 15th and 15th for dinner. Since we went last minute we would've had to wait for the patio (no problem) but we were hungry and opted to eat inside. Decor is cute. They have a nice mural and the benches are cozy with pillow throws. I got the fajitas and my husband got the burger. I enjoyed the fajitas. They were tasty and included an honest amount of shrimp. Loved that they have a full salsa bar. I really liked the side beans and rice. I opted for cilantro rice and it was really good.
